Gullah:
This woman has allowed herself to become a tool in the hand of the devil. She has entered on a wrong path and the earlier she steps back from it the better for her. She will only end up destroying herself and all those she ends up deceiving
Very seductively subtle; Fame, Power, Money.
How can she escape? Who can rescue her apart from Jesus?
By the time she begins to feel empty and want out, she is rewarded with another interview or award or...whatever.

I’m getting married because I crave for a lifelong companion/friend..and also to have unhindered sex..I’m not getting married because of kids or who to ‘continue my lineage’....when I’m gone from this earth I won’t be aware if anybody is continuing my lineage or not, I won’t be aware, ashamed or proud of anybody here on earth...I will know NOTHING..but while on earth, I need a companion....
hahaha...I remember one guy in my school that year lol, the guy shared with me how he changed his surname to an English name.
(English because of bigots.)
So I questioned him, "why?". He felt he was a grown man and can take that decision. His dad is late but nonetheless I felt bad for him (dad).
So I tried to reason with my friend, "guy, but why do you think there was rejoicing on the day you were born? Your dad must have rejoiced to have a son to carry on his name...and now you`ve changed it." And he went, "abeg, leave that thing. which name? My dad has lived his life and made his decisions and now is gone and that, is never gonna change. This is my life to live." grin

I would wanna marry for love, companionship, have my 3 kids and enjoy my life with my wife and kids.

I hate it when a lady wants to get married because her friends are already married. Imagine that, then after i marry she would start giving me attitude and refuse me sex. That's how cheating starts cuz the man is denied sex.

There are many girls out there like that. I just wish to settle with someone that feels me as a part of her. That feeling of having someone in your heart .

I pray God assists me with the right partner cuz the way some people complain of their marriage its like marriage is a bad thing.

I hope to marry someone that will love me more than i love her. Even wowo guy still dey marry na shuu
That guy in your meme is very handsome please.

The older I get, the less I understand the meaning of the word love.
Right now I feel marriage is simply tying the knot with whoever you're dating at the time you are ready to get married. Whoever is the eventual beneficiary at that time ends up as your wife.
That's the way things are looking at the moment. All my fantasies about marriage have been wiped away by reality.
Keep your dreams alive. Those realities are not yours.

Sometimes when a woman assumes some responsibilities in the house and shows that she can handle stuffs, the husband tends to relax and leaves her to keep handling them and even more.
That's the crux of the matter.
That's what's getting me upset about this issue.
It will take God's grace to disentangle yourself.
Some men would begin to divert it to siblings, girlfriends rather than their children etc

Goodkay wake up!

Indeed; but what I meant was that the husband also needs to take a pen and paper and do his analysis of how his 80K salary is spent as well. So even if a particular expense is fixed like rent he should put it on the paper as well as his other expenses too. In that way, both him and his wife's expenses are all written down for the month and then a budget can be drawn up for the month to avoid one party being burden down with more expenses than required.
Oh! Okay.
Cool.

Good points cool

But you didn't add that the husband should also do likewise @ bold grin
I think you got me wrong.
I mean that all her husband has to do is save 20k monthly and his responsibility is met while she is faced with the unlimited burden of feeding; that increases as the human she feeds grows.
I`m saying the man got the better deal.

She ready need to sit her husband down to let him know about her spending, what she is facing and settle it ..

Well, what can I say? It is not easy to feed mouths. [s]It is good both of you split the expenses.[/s] I don't know if both of you are involved in government work. If yes, I suggest you do some flexible business that can add more to your income as a family, especially in this harsh economy. I'm not the one to tell you how to run your family, but I must say, getting a third child is really unwarranted. Two is okay. Always birth according to your capacity and how well you can feed and take are of them adequately. Things might not get better in the country and world at large, reason people give birth to less children nowadays. Also, please go for family planning already.

Hi Goodkay, first of all, calm down okay? You will be fine..eventually. .

2. If you have not been saving anything from your salary, please start NOW and in time, you would be able to take care of yourself better.

How did you guys arrive at that decision? And you agreed to it?

5. I have been through some stuff lately myself financially but it has sharpened my managerial skills better
Cheers!
kiss

With an uncooperative husband like that, it will take strength to save. Receive grace to, Goodkay. From her story, she doesn`t even have jack at the moment.

A lot of lazy guys are doing that to girls these days. They sort of sense that they badly want marriage and manipulate them into these sort of arrangements whereas the lady thinks it`s all about love.

But I`m so sure your hubby is very supportive which makes the burden lighter?

And as a woman, you suppose to know how to do economics for feeding things and saving.u shouldn't used everything for feeding atleast there are some single women out there which their salary is not even up to that and they are feeding, schooling, doing alots of it with it what abt npower couple mehn sister cut ur cloth according to ur size, there are alots of things to do on kids apart of feeding eh..
What are you saying? angry
Do you know how feeding gulps money??
Plus the fact that she has to pay transportation to to buy the food stuff?
Those women you are quoting are into food stuff sales or into one farming or the other to manage food for their family.

It is not the same for a worker who has to pay transportation to and fro work and also feed from it. I am so sure GoodKay lives in Lagos.
Family › Re: Marriage Is Not An Easy Journey Only Read If U Have Time. by boyjo:
GoodKay
Hm. Big hugs Sweetie. I feel like weeping.

He even took the easier responsibility, rent. `Because he can plan and save for it well ahead of time (Just by saving 20k monthly amounts to 240k at the year end).
Rent is always almost fixed for a long period of time rather than a yearly increase.

But feeding for one person is ever increasing, because the person grows; not to mention when the number of mouths increases!

Yes, you are right.
When girls say they can hardly marry a man who is not financially okay, most of them speak from experience and the experience is usually multiple.

Get paper and list EVERY SINGLE ITEM your 80k+ salary was spent on, from transportation fare to Matches to Salt to...every single or seemingly inconsequential item.
Men respond to facts and figures.
If the total exceeds or equals your salary, let him see it.

Then let him know what the effects of handling this responsibility has on you; from your BP to other issues.
If he cares, he would encourage a discussion to have the current plan restructured so that it would be easy on you both.
If he does not care,
you have to do something drastic.

But i am saying the cravings are not do or die. My sister craved bushmeat almost all through her 2nd pregnancy...but her husband didnt have the time to drive to lag/ibadan express way to get it for her.
And yor sister and her husband are going to miss the development the satisfying of that craving could have wrought in their child.
Every pregnant woman`s unique craving is for a reason. There is a development of the fetus the nutrient from that craving hugely affects.

I know of a lady who crave unripe plantain all through her pregnancy and she got a very lavish dose of it. Guess what? Her baby grew teeth far earlier than babies would usually grow teeth. Under a year, healthy strong big teeth everywhere!

And I`m very sure your the reason her husband refused to make arrangement for it to be bought for her when he could not. Because you have fed him your lies and vain imaginations! angry sad

I have told you earlier, everybody cannot be the same! Speak for yourself and those you know. What you can tolerate, I may not be able to withstand it. If you can manage your own cravings, I may not be able to manage mine.

This knowledge is basic. The fact that he doesn`t know shows he`s got no female hormones flowing in him!

I think some women exaggerate it...they probably never get help from their husbands on a normal day and are trying to punish him cheesy.

I hardly had cravings i couldn't control. I never woke hubby up for food. I still did things myself...still cooked for him most times. And if i didn't feel up to cooking, i would tell him to get food.

An older friend said he drove to abule egba from surulere to look for masa (i think it is a Ghanaian food) and he once went to a mango sellers house at almost midnight because his wife wanted mangoes.

The question is...what do single pregnant women do? With no husband or man to send around. From experience i realized that this cravings can be controlled. Not the one that one pregnant woman will go and beg for jollof rice where they are cooking as she is passing by cheesy cheesy
You know how very selfish some Nigerian guys can be especially on Nairaland.
You want to get them started on the path of thinking their wives could do these things on purpose so that they can develop a wicked mindset in future towards their pregnant wives who need a greater degree of care and attention?
You know that`s not true.
You also know that pregnancy differs. Hormones are involved. And when hormones are involved, no two experience are the same (same reason you have some ladies with big boobs and others don`t, hormones; you expect their experiences to be the same?). The fact that you could control your craving doesn`t mean others may be pretending who could not control their craving.

Like someone mentioned, there is a difference between "wife" and a "single" getting pregnant. one gets love and support from her man and she leverages on it rather suffering alone.
