Got my spouse visa today.
Priority; 10 days after biometrics.

Thank you guys that helped me sort out a thing or two and this place saved me from quite alot. I really appreciate.

Please is it necessary to do a corona virus test before leaving?

Good day guys, I’ve been trying to contact the UK embassy in Lagos to know if they’d be open during this lockdown, my biometric appointment is next week Monday, I have absolutely no idea if this affected them too sad

There was no need to post supporting documents in the first place.

If you have scanned copies, just upload documents so as to at least attend interview.
oh wow. Thanks

Good day guys, please I have a very important question, I’ve already applied for my spouse visa, my partner sent the supporting documents (original marriage certificate and all) through Nipost 3 weeks ago but they’re yet to deliver it to me. I’m worried because my interview is on the first week of April, the Nipost official handle on Twitter tweeted that they will be closing down because of covid19 lockdown, my documents are with them, any possible way I can go about this? I can’t miss the interview because I’ve already used my option of moving the date. I’m all round messed up in the head.

If she has 100% of documents required and all in date....... Fire down........

Remember the ' 28 day rule'........
Yes, I know about the ‘ 28 day rule ‘

I made a checklist just so I don’t miss anything (please see attached images below)

Lexusgs430:
What are you worried about?.....?

What sort of visa/passport does she have?.... huh
She’s British/Nigerian.

She’s only worried that since we added “Nurse” on our marriage certificate as her occupation that it may affect it because she’s yet to start practicing. But then she got a degree as a Nurse.

Her 6 months pay-slips are all from the support work she’s been doing.
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by boywonder225:
Good day house, please I have a question that has been bothering my wife even though I’ve clarified it several times from what I read here, she’s doing zero hour contract as a support worker with 2 jobs and earns above £25,000PA

She’s still worried if the application will work out since the first advice she got from someone was that it wouldn’t. Same person advised her to start her nursing job and work for another 6months before she can apply :/

Secondly, on our marriage certificate, it stated that she’s a nurse, she’s yet to start practicing for personal reasons, but we’re making this application with her agency Job since we have all pay slips from those jobs, my question to this is, would it interfere in this application? We don’t mind submitting her nursing degree cert as proof too. We want to make this application tomorrow, the pressure is too much since we can’t afford to make any mistakes.

Please your responses are highly needed since she’d be reading this.

If you thoroughly read through this thread, a solicitor is never required......

Just ensure all documentations are in date, you obey the 28 day rule, enough proof towards subsisting relationship etc etc.....

Your rejection history, is not relevant........ Letters from friends, irrelevant.....

Your bank statement, totally irrelevant (unless you have about £70,000), in cleared savings.....
.

“ Your rejection history, is not relevant........ Letters from friends, irrelevant... “

Aha. Pretty much what’s been giving me sleepless nights.

Are you saying, you have no trust in his/her professionalism?....... cheesy
Not really, I feel like I can help/make it a whole lot easier for him and myself.

And a straightforward application will bang right now.

Lexusgs430:
What are you paying a solicitor for, if you still require inputs from us?........ huh
you don’t think some solicitors make mistakes? I only asked because I wouldn’t want any ‘had I known’ and to be sure I was on the right part. Anyway thanks.
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by boywonder225:
Hello Good people of Nairaland, I’ve gone through this thread as much as I can and I’ve also gathered documents based on everything I’ve seen others do, my only question here is;

I’ve been denied a visit to my girlfriend (wife now/British citizen) when we were still dating in 2018 January, we’ve known each other since 2017, Denied the application on the ground that :

“I didn’t show my bank statement/proof that I can sustain myself when I visit her and I likely will not return to my home country when my stay expires. ( I left the application process for an agent without any clue and stupidly didn’t make my own inquiries) “

Secondly, on the refusal she said we were friends and I said she was my girlfriend without any proof, It was a mistake from her part as well that we didn’t notice on time.

Fast forward to 2020, we’re legally married at ikoyi registry, we have a solicitor in the UK following up the application we’re about to make. All documents are in place, screenshots of call logs from whatsapp for 6months+ chats, video calls and emails are available, also over 42+ pages of collage pictures taken in different places during all her visits (3 times since. 2019-2020)

We didn’t do any traditional marriage just a little family introduction.

-Any need to add my bank statement now? We used a checklist to ready every basic requirements and I added more from this thread too.

I still can’t help it but I feel like something is missing out, I posted this to know if the previous denial will affect us, anything to boost the decision making this time and if only proof of civil marriage is enough.

Also, the letter from friends and family are they really necessary with copies of their intl. passports? Thank you.

Hello house, please I’m in a dark place right at this moment, I want to reunite with my partner in the UK, we’re legally married, she visits twice yearly and spends months, is the traditional marriage a must? Because we’ve only done introduction and don’t intend on doing the traditional marriage at all , will this affect my application in any way?

You can use a Savings account.
Applying by December is not late but note that Dec 1st and Dec 31st are both December.
The earlier you apply the more time you have to address any issues.
Also note that they will be observing all holidays too.
okay, thank you very much.

You can't submit application without CAS.
Yes with Herts if you pass your interview and fulfill all conditions your CAS will be out in less than 24hours. I am sure.
okay thanks, I had a successful interview with them, hopefully they’d get back to me with a favorable response next week.

Jan 12- Dec12 ( 1month)
Dec 12- Nov 12 (2minths)
Nov 12- Oct 12 (3months)
If your course starts Jan 12th, the earliest for submission is Oct 12th.
That simple.
Oh wow. Mine start on the 20th Jan, can I apply without my CAS available? My credibility interview is tomorrow and I believe Hertfordshire doesn’t waste much time to respond.

No appointment under category B and it’s 5weeks +. This country is a curse. Being Nigerian is a disease, if this dead shithole was working, no one will be so fussed about leaving or looking for education in Germany with so much pressure. I’m disgusted and these consulates officials are wicked for holding people back with the slightest chance they get.
