I know you've sent emails, but continue to do so. Emails and Web forms. Hopefully when their updates are complete, they'll go through them.

Pele.

You even had nairaland, your own better. I didn't know nairaland existed.

OptimusPrime21 These words are enough for the wise.

ralfudoh:
You have said it all. You won't blame people that get their TRV and leave the thread. When you come back, you get challenged. Let people figure out stuff by themselves. Some of us never used an agent, we learnt from reading nairaland and packaged our application and got the visa. If someone doesn't want to take your advice, font force it on the person. You can take a horse to the river but you can't force it to drink water. My 2cents

Please remove the complimentary card.
Include your statement of account because of the inflow and outflow, not really the balance.
I can't review your SOP right now, sorry.
For the part in bold, I hope you explained it properly in your SOP?

gatsbym4:
Letter of sponsorship from aunt.
Affidavit of support also from aunt.
Just including the complimentary card, nothing really, can remove it if it's of no use.
And my statement of account, since I'm not sponsoring myself I don't see a reason to provide it, and I don't have much in it tho.
Yeah I think my sop is good but would be nice if ure pls willing to take a look.
Administrative professional is the course, it's a post graduate certificate course for Administrative officers. The executive part is another higher branch for someone who has experience in administration.

You kwanu learn from it. Stop giving help here always, maybe when you distance yourself for a while - like what qud.kom, Just.mellow, Mak.ano, and Frank do - they'll appreciate it when you come back. Also, stop asking them to order GCMS note, let them figure these things out themselves by reading up on previous threads.

A prophet isn't always appreciated in his hometown.

This your passport should come back fast so you can leave and get busy with moving your life forward, instead of staying here collecting insult from people you're trying to help on nairaland.

OptimusPrime21:
Lolz abi... the tyn weak me.. I didn't even say read thread 15 to gain more knowledge but rather I said read thread 15 to see people's experiences.. I said this cos I noticed people will apply in June and expect updates (approvals) in July.. It doesn't work like that all the time.i don't know it all but mehn.. telling me to "pocket my advice", that went straight to the heart..
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Bracha: 5:08pm On Jun 11, 2019
Sigh. You shouldn't have replied in anger, because if you had waited for the anger to wear off, and read it from his point of view, you'd have seen sense in what he said.

For the highlighted sentence, he waited more than 6 months for his application to be fully processed, but you're here at 5 weeks+ and talking about 5 weeks being 5 years. And for the last sentence, o má ga ó!

All in all, abeg make we calm down, everybody blood dey hot, the only remedy na continuous prayer and faith in God say e go end in testimony.

Cheers.

Kenny4real68:
Mr Man please pocket your advice, I only made my personal observation known! Did I in anyway made mention of May applicants application being above the normal processing time? or did you see me advice people to order their Gcms notes like you always do? Why advising me to read part 15 as if am a newB.. who is too lazy to make research.
My blood dey hot oo, you know how this Canada waiting can be.. waiting for 5weeks can be like waiting for 5years.. Allow me to exercise my patience in peace and next time make sure you read well before you comment.
UDO!!! (Peace).
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Bracha: 4:59pm On Jun 11, 2019
Your word just confirmed you're a man grin grin. Next time use, "what makes you think I'm a man?" It works like magic.

OptimusPrime21:
Well.. I could see when you dropped this, u weren't in a happy mood so obviously you felt my response was more like pissing you off.. to order gcms notes like (I always do) is not by force, we all are here to learn and drop solutions to questions and situations everybody is facing his/respective applications. Sorry if u feel offended and seeing u as a newB.. no vex

I was literally laughing at the bolded. bros, I waited 8months b4 I got a medical request, Mr Ralf waited 11months b4 he got a passport request(cos he did upfront medicals) so pls, som1 just got denied after waiting 10months (do u know how annoying and heartbreaking that is) u are 5weeks in this and your blood is hot. That was why I said read thread 15 to see people's experiences if u don't wanna no problem, I wasn't and I can never force you.. how do u know am a man, I might be a woman

Letter of sponsorship from who? School or aunt? If it's from your aunt, where is the affidavit of support from?

What of your personal statement of account?

Why are you including your manager's complimentary card? (I'm curious about what you intend for it to accomplish)

Remember that the affidavit of support - if from your aunt - has to state exactly why your aunt is sponsoring you, and it has to be convincing.

Please remember your SOP has to explain in detail and convincingly your switch from Pol. Sci. to Administration. Also, what does Administrative Professional: Executive mean? Is that Business Administration or something else?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Bracha: 2:20pm On Jun 11, 2019
It means it has been sent to the visa office in Lagos. From Lagos they'll do whatever they want with it. But study permit processing is currently being done in Kenya. So, chill and pray hard.

Godspeed

That's why i don't want to embark in finding admission in these western colleges. Their tuition and accomodation expenses is just too much. imagine spending 7-8M on just a year school fair chai it's just too much na. that was how i got admission in Near East Univesity cyprus in 2013 but i later didn't go cos of the total expenses of 2.6M i couldn't account for and to b sincere it still pains me that i didn't go in reason that if i had, my life would have be more worth than the way it is right now but i still give God the glory for everything.

Don't give up bro just try talk to some relatives, pray about it and see if God would touch them heart to assist u out of this failed country. Honestly it always a better and worth while decision to live this country. Congrats on ur admission.

Okay. Thanks for the clarification, I'll send it to you now.

Sumji:
Hello Bracha. The reason I tried to email you was to get a link to your winter clothing plug, I want to know that I'm sorted in that aspect once my Canadian application is approved (optimistic). I'm yet to re-apply though, after my first refusal...

I'm fairly new here, and the only reason I haven't posted anything is because I'm expecting my GCMS note. Most of the issues I had, I've read up on the several posts on these threads and I found my answers.

I would need a lot of guidance from guru's such as yourself and others, once my GCMS note is emailed to me (expected 15/06/2019). Till then, I hope I'm not treated as a stranger cause I regard this forum as the best alternative compared to being guided by cold-hearted, money-hungry travel agents.

Thanks for all you do!

My dear, I've read a lot of reviews online about them, and my no still stands. Cheap or not.

sillysassysally:
I used Royal Air Maroc for my trip. Personally, I had no complaints apart from the fact that the wifi in that their airport wasn’t working. There was also this Nigerian man whose mother needed a wheelchair to get out of the air bus and they just kept posting the guy...

Apart from the above, I think they’re one of the cheapest. I spent like 190k for my trip.

Good luck in your exams! Break a leg.

sillysassysally:
Hi guys,

Apologies for the MIA with the TRV update. I’ve been prepping for my professional exams due this week plus I’ve also been traveling.

Hoping to resume once I’m done with my exams.

I wish all TRV hopefuls all the best!

Tlontin, OptimusPrime21, Mudicua, ralfudoh, guys I forgot to include this in my email:

if you're going to the colder regions of Canada e.g Winnipeg; some parts of Quebec, Ontario, Saskatchewan, & Alberta, you'll need thermal clothing (read underwear). Please endeavour to buy them, bargain well o.

Cheers.

PS: this is also a message for everyone.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Bracha: 11:49am On Jun 10, 2019
Please leave Royal Air Maroc. Their racism and unprofessional behaviour is on another level. If you want cheap, use Ethiopian airline.

OptimusPrime21:
How much is this... am thinking Air morac... pretty cheap I most say..
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Bracha: 11:47am On Jun 10, 2019
For the UK, you won't be needing a transit visa if you won't be leaving the departure lounge of the airport. For the US you WILL need a transit visa. Please don't go through the US for any reason.

You could use Ethiopian airline Economy Flex, or whichever you choose. Just tell the agent you use that you don't want route through countries that require transit visa: US, Switzerland etc.
Modified: I'll suggest Emirates, their service is topnotch; and Lufthansa. Or you could still do Ethiopian airline Business class.

Kishkosh:
Guys , Good morning all .
Quick one pls. My Bro wanna book KLM for me, he said Ethiopian airline and Egypt air maybe very frustrating for me being a first time long distance traveler .
But I think I've seen it here on the forum where someone made mention of transit visa or so. Cuz the KLM I got will pass through Detroit (USA)

I'd appreciate a bether explanation on the transit visa issue pls, regarding UK and US, I've made effort to check online , but I would appreciate better explanations here.
Thanks

I CANNOT share the information here because Nairaland kicks against advertisement of any sort in this section. Posting a phone number of someone I get stuff from is an advert of sorts, so also is posting links of certain websites.

If anyone needs it, they can contact me.

Cheers.

chisongozi:
@Bracha, also share the info here. Thanks

Hello Sumji I just saw your message and replied w/out checking your profile. I have checked your profile now and seen that you don't have any posts here, this means I won't respond to whatever questions you ask except it has to do with my winter clothing plug.

Therefore, I'll suggest you drop your questions here or ask someone else.

Have a nice day.

Please, it can go waay beyond 2K. In fact, it could be from 3K and above. Even at the State Criminal Registry Lagos, it all depends on whom one meets, and bargaining ability.

Qudkom:
IOM in ikeja charge- The amount payable is 41,400 for adults 15 yrs and above, 32,700 for applicants 11 to less than 15 yrs, 28,900for applicants 5 to less than 11 yrs, 27,000 for applicants 0 to less than 5 yrs. All values are in Nigerian Naira.

Qlife- 35,000(Adults)

I did mine at Qlife family clinic. They request for your passport photograph and medical request for those that got it. After that you are called according to how you got there to pay and after that they give 3 tallies that come with different colours:
Tally A- blood test(HIV and syphilis)
Tally B- X-ray(You will enter a room and hug anxray machine to get your chest xray)
Tally C- body vitals; bp, eye sight (bring your glasses if you use one), check your height and weight.

Lastly, you will provide urine sample and see a doctor that will check your eyes, tongue and abdomen. The doctor will also ask about your medicsl history. It is advisable to get there early enough the process takes 3-5hrs. Hope this helps.

The Police clearance depends on your connection and could be anything from (3k-8k) but getting it done at the HQ in lagos shouldn't be more than 2k.

Ifyeez per the picture you posted, were you asked to go for medical examination? If yes, congratulations. On the other hand, if you weren't asked to go for medical examination, but you did it upfront, the chances of approval or refusal are 50-50. If you weren't asked to go for medicals, and you also didn't do one upfront, then we'll just wait and see.

It should be a good sign. Congratulations in advance on your visa. Also, you shouldn't have done the medicals twice, that was a waste of money; when the request came, you should have just sent them the form for the one you had done before.

Continue to pray and believe, it shall end on praise in Jesus' Name. Amen!

Congratulations on your visa.

VFS Global should be open today, but you have to check their website to be sure. For VFS Global Canada, their public holidays aren't Nigerian based, but Canadian; if Canada has a public holiday, they would and vice versa. Use Google for this tho.

I can't say their expiration dates in general, but I don't think they are always valid for the full duration of one's program. I've seen 1 yr+ for a 2 year program, and 1 Yr for a 4 Yr program. Knowing when to extend it, and doing so as at when due is key.
