It would change to "ready for collection" or something like that. And after collection, it will change to "collected".

sillysassysally:
Please how exactly do we know when its ready? I tried tracking it but it has just been saying "
Visa application, tracking ID No.20190509CALAPPT0XXXX is being processed at the Canada Visa Office . To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website"
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 11:17am On May 15, 2019
Email and web form the heck out of them. Buy the flight ticket for the latest possible date, send them a copy of your flight while reminding them of your resumption date.

sillysassysally:
OMO I still dey wait oh!. They also told me 5-10 working days and i was given a tracking number but the thing isn't giving me any tangible information. I have seen some really cheap flights and i don't know if I should just take the risk and book my flight now or still wait some more...

I'm gonna call them later today to make further inquiries and i would definitely let you know how it goes... Please also keep me updated.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 8:59pm On May 14, 2019
He's correct sha, BUT sometimes it takes longer than that. If resumption is close and it isn't ready, disturb them.

Kez911:
Sally, I wannna ask, how long did you wait from the day u submitted you passport for stamping and the day you got ppr? The guy the told me 5-10days but I don't believe that guy one bit

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 2:15pm On May 14, 2019
Did you show them the letter requesting for passport? You are on the right path. The tracking number and receipt are for the passport. So when it's ready you go with them for collection.

Congrats once again.

Kez911:

If you want to pay full tuition, please familiarise yourself with the school's refund policy.

I could be wrong here, but I think the 5m is too low, I think it needs to be increased. Because if you pay tuition from 5m, how much would be left for your mom? Also you haven't paid other fees such as accommodation, books etc. If you're your mom's only dependant, please write this in your statement of purpose.

Like someone said, you didn't include a statement of purpose (SOP) or a letter of explanation (LOE). Please include them and let them address the reasons for your initial denial, let them show how you tackled those reasons. Your SOP should also state your reason for taking that course and what you intend to do with it when you come back. Please check the first page of this thread for how to write SOPs or check Google.

Good luck.

I got admission to study nursing in Canada(fall 2019), I finished secondary school 2017,(science student), I spent 2018 applying for Canadian visa and it was refused based on financial reasons and purpose of travel... The visa officer said I didn't convince him/her that I'll return to my county after studies, however the admission letter I used last year was that of prenursing(the school said I met the requirements for nursing but there was no space so they gave me prenursing),which is one year duration. So i applied for nursing again this year(on time)Again I used a third party sponsor for that of last year. So my complete timeline for this year is:
Acceptance letter(nursing)
I want to pay full fees, don't know if it's advisable
Mum's my sponsor (her letter of sponsorship)
Dad is late
Her land and house docs
Birth certificate to show our relationship
Waec result (5as&4bs)
School testimonial
SOA of N5M(my school fees is approx $12350)
International passport & CIC docs
I'm 18 years
Please is this timeline okay, i dont want to make same mistake again, what should be added and what should be left out, school resumes September. Thanks.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 11:31am On May 14, 2019
I don't think it would affect it, BUT you need to have a new acceptance letter before leaving for Canada, because at the Port of Entry you may be asked for your acceptance letter.

Pel1960:
Hello gurus in the house

I applied for a study permit this year while I was in Canada but it was denied. I defferd my admission and reapply when I returned to Nigeria and it was approved some days ago. Consequently, I have sent my passport to cic for stamping
However due to some reasons, I won't be able to resume in summer and the University policy stated that student can only defer admission once

I was told to apply for new admission.

My question is that if I get new admission, will it affect my Visa already approved Visa

TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Bracha: 7:15pm On May 13, 2019
afehin71:
To see other places like where?? I need to build up my travel history that's why I want to apply to USA
Other places like the other 180+ countries that exist outside the UK, Canada and the USA. Look for popular tourist destinations that are neither the aforementioned nor Dubai.

When people build travel history, they build it so they can apply to the US. They actually build it before applying to the US, because the US takes travel history very importantly.

afehin71:
I have been to Dubai twice I really dont know how else to build travel history if my application is declined
People build travel history by travelling to tourist destinations like I stated above. Search for them, and go there before applying to the US. Some people argue that for a US visa, travel to Dubai isn't even considered a travel history, it could be right or wrong but just build travel history outside the US for now.

On the other hand, you can go ahead and apply, and you'll get it.

Good luck.

I could be wrong, but I think someone here went in the Summer for a Fall resumption. The only issue I have with this is, I don't know if it'd affect you when applying for PR.

I got mine last year, but when my supervisor advised I come this year, I accepted because I didn't want any issues to crop up later. I don't want to go in the Summer because I don't want to be tempted to work, before my session resumes and I enroll

I'll advise you seek advise from those there already, Naijaforeigner could help too.

Omonoba1981:
Thanks. I will leave it. It is more expensive and its a community college. It cost me like $5000 + for one semester 13 credit unit.

I plan to do change of DLI from my Bleep Poly to Bleep college ontario which will cost me like 4000-5000 CAD one semester which is more cheaper.

In US its very had to work during school even in summer, I am applying to work but was told I have to register 1 credit to work during summer and mostly have to be within Campus. In Canada, my elder sister was able to do 20Hrs during school and unlimited hours during summer.

And my intended course is a Co-Op based and really like the option of CO-op. My sister during her studies in Sask Poly , she did her co-op in a construction company 8month when she made cool money as she was paid like $23/hr and more for out of station and overtime. Now after studies in December. Her supervisor called her to come work with them during the summer. And she told her boss that she has a kid sister that is coming for studies in Fall, if she can get a summer work for her. And the Supervisor is okay , only if I have a driving license.

But I am a bit afraid even if I am able to the visa, if they will allow me come at the POE during the summer.

I will leave, and plan to check with the school in Canada, if I can transfer my courses. I am planing to take new program similar to what I have now in Miami.

Yaaaassssss!! grin grin Congratulations!!! Where the party at??!

This one that Austacus the facilitator of this process has travelled, I'll fill in for him, so in case you were thinking of getting drinks with him - you'll foot the bill as we all know - I'll just stand in. I'm lower maintenance than him, I promise. I'm a teetotaler, so no alcohol, just ice creams.

What say you Kez?

Austacus, please don't complain; just accept and let this jollification reach me. When he gets to Canada, my standing-in will end, then he can buy you all the beer you need at Algonquin.

I know my next words would be misconstrued, but I don't care.

You “need vital information” so we're supposed to just roll over and bend over backwards to provide them for you. Not a “please” or a “kindly” in all that sentence. Your post smacks or utter arrogance. But then we will give you what you want because we're here to fulfill your “utmost desire”, I mean what else are we here for? undecided

No WhatsApp group was created, at least none I'm aware of. As Kez911 and Makano will always advise, start from Part 14 of this thread and read through till the end.

Also, use Google. You're a first class student, you should know that Google is your friend.

Side note: no one is being paid here, even just.wise is doing it from the goodness of his heart. So please don't expect people to hand you things on a platter, do your research extensivelyz and when you're done, ask questions. Let's drop this entitlement mentality we have - me inclusive. This applies to nairaland and in life in general.

PS: teegreat08 before you change what you wrote to maybe claim something else, I have a screenshot of the original post. Stay humble honey kiss kiss

Now y'all can come for me, I'm ready. *flexes fat muscles* grin

Hi Qudkom. Is your name Quddus? Whenever I see a post from you, my brain automatically interprets your name as Quddus lol.
You can reply via pm grin wink

Qudkom:
Congratulations. There is a difference between visitors visa and student visa. So you need the counterfoil for the later. Also to avoid confusion at the Point of entry. The student counterfoil will distinguish your reason for travelling. Once again congratulations 8months is a long time!!!!

Your patience is remarkable.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 2:46pm On May 13, 2019
For student TRV, in the section where Vusitor is written, student is written there instead. Some codes are also different in the student TRV.

My main interest is, what you will do about your US school? Will you leave it for Canada or complete it?

Congratulations on your visa. Thank God He came through for you in the end.

Omonoba1981:
I finally got request for my passport after 8months. But , not sure why they have requested. I though have a valid TRV (visitor visa) they would need to request for my passport.

Hello @Flashing, I noticed you didn't respond to my post here. Unfortunately I can't reply your private message because you do not have a post on nairaland - I'm assuming you're a private person, which means you'll understand if I don't reply you because of my own privacy.

I'm sorry about this, but maybe if you had a post or posts then I could have replied, that way I know I'm speaking with "someone."

Your ghost mode is uncomfortable for me.

Thanks for understanding.

PS: i'm sure others won't have this reservation.

The same way, BUT there's a part in one of the sections where you're asked if you have to work while schooling, you'll need to tick 'Yes' there. Don't worry, when you go through the form, you'll see what I'm talking about. You may also need to give evidence when you tick 'yes'; an example of such an evidence would be a letter from the school stating that your course has a co-op option.

If this is about ordering your GCMS note, please note that you cannot do it by yourself because it requires someone with either a Permanent Resident (PR) status or a citizenship status to make the application. This means that you have to be a citizen or a PR to apply for GCMS note.

However, there are websites which do it for you, for a higher fee, please use Google. Conversely, if you have someone in Canada who is a citizen or a PR you could give that person permission to apply on your behalf.
