Why are you inviting your brother and his whole family while you're still in school? Please don't do this. Graduate from school first, get a job, then do the invite because the embassy will expect you to have enough money to cater for all of you over there. If you say your brother will cater for himself, this MAY warrant them to think he wants to japaa seeing as he doesn't have a solid home tie.

But if you refuse to listen to this advise and go ahead with the invite, let your brother and his wife use their jobs as a home tie. Also, let your brother apply independent of you, as in let him apply for a visit visa giving tourism as an excuse.

Hopefully you go with the first advise so the second won't be needed.

Good luck to you and your brother.

Baztardmods:
Hello my people
Please what reason can I use to invite my brother and his family of 4 to Canada to visit me, I'm in my 2nd year?
Please respond if you know good reason for invitation and what could I use as social ties for him?

Thank you

Hi, a lot of people seem to be having this same issue at the moment. I'll advice you call VFS Global as soon as possible concerning this.

MsAnne20 these are the required documents ⬇️

Bracha:
Here are the documents you need for your visa application. 3 & 4 are for online application. Also remember to include these.

Please remember to choose only the documents that apply to you.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 9:15am On May 31, 2019
Please fill those documents in your house or at a cyber cafe close to YOUR own house. Those cafes at Manor Hall are brutal, their charges are exorbitant and cutthroat.

Check the previous page for where I posted a link to the forms required.

Good luck.

MsAnne20:
Good morning house !
Please intend going to one of the business centres beside VFS, Lekki to fill my application forms....
.
kindly list the documents I need to go with
.
I will be submitting all next Monday via paper route.

Thank you

Hi, I don't know what this is about but I'm guessing it has something to do with submitting your application or going to VFS Global. If it does, please note that some of our public holidays don't affect their work; there work is mostly affected by Canadian public holidays. So, check Canadian public holidays not ours.

Leone26:
Hi guys. Pls I really need to know the exact dates for the Muslim public holidays next week?

Is it June 4&5 or 5&6?? Thanks.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 10:11pm On May 30, 2019
No, that is not the eligibility review we're talking about. When you see it, you'll know. Eligibility review is the period the VO begins to check if you're eligible to come to Canada.
Btw you just submitted your application. Chill.

Ibitowaoa:
Pls what’s this eligibility thing cox mine is saying your application is in progress. Is that the eligibility una dey talk.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 9:49pm On May 30, 2019
1. That's the normal information your application should show as it's been processed.
2. You can go for medicals before being asked to do it, in this case it's called Upfront medicals. I'll advise you not to go until you are requested to, that way when the request eventually comes, you'll know it's a potential visa approval.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 5:39pm On May 30, 2019
If you can't wait for your GCMS note, increase the money in your account, write a very good SOP/LOE explain what has changed in this new application. When filling the form, where you're asked if you've been denied a visa before, say yes, and write that insufficient funds was the reason for your denial.

Please make sure your SOP is very good and that the money in your account is tuition + 10,000cad + extra money for whatever family you'll be leaving behind.

Good luck.

Obehi44:
My school resumes Sept 3rd, Gcms note they say won't come not less than 30 days or even more, please guys i don't want to miss this admission. In fact I am tired of staying at home and not doing anything. I want to reapply anytime soon btw the next week or two.

I personally feel the reason they gave for the refusal is simple and straight forward ( I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.

Please has there been anyone with such? What else would the GCMS note contain again?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 11:00am On May 30, 2019
Congratulations!

Go with the letter for passport request and your passport. Just drop the passport and go home. When it's been processed you'll be notified on your online portal i.e MyCic account.

SeriaBravo:
Morning guys,

PPRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

For guys who already submitted their passport. Please, how long am I required to stay at VFS for passport submission?

I need to sneak out of the office hence the question to have an idea of how long I will spend there.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 10:40am On May 29, 2019
No need to defer your admission Tibex2, apply for that visa right now. You can still get it before September when school resumes. Brandon University resumes in September.

OptimusPrime21:
You have classes starting in August and because study visa takes 3months, u want to apply for visiting. Do u want to just visit the school and come back... mind you, canada visa processing timelines these days are not to be trusted either study or visit and can't tell if u will be denied or not for either of the two... I advise you defer that admission and focus on securing a study permit visa

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 10:19am On May 29, 2019
O boy book your appointment and go for the biometrics. When you get there, show them the confirmation of booking. The more time you waste, the longer it'd take for your application to be processed.

Ibitowaoa:
How long does it take to get an appointment for the biometrics after booking online?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 10:15am On May 29, 2019
Hi,
Congratulations on your admission, I also have an admission to BU and whoever told you to apply in Canada is lying to you. You cannot apply for a student visa in Canada while on a visit visa. You can only apply from here (Nigeria). So, dust yourself, go to the IRCC website or the first page of this thread and get the information you need for applying, and apply for your visa ASAP, because application processing time is increasing.

Good luck.

Tibex2:
Hi
Please,I have been given admission at Brandon university for my masters program.I was told that apply ing for students visa at nigerian will take time that I should go and apply at Canada.so I want to apply for visiting visa in Nigeria.when I get to Canada I will apply which is better house please.

If the school says you require your undergraduate transcript, then you do. Please find out from the school; all these questions is better answered by the PhD coordinator of your course.

eyoiba:
Good evening guys. Please I am applying for DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) at the University of Calgary. I only have my MBA transcript but I was told that I would also need my undergraduate degree transcript which I have not even applied for. The application deadline is June 1. Is the first degree transcript necessary for this admission? If yes, can I still go ahead and apply and later update my first degree transcript.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha:
For those applying for their visas online, you'll have to book an appointment for biometrics submission. I just checked the VFS Global website - it's written on the home page of the site.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 9:36pm On May 28, 2019
Okay. On checking their website I saw that booking is necessary for biometrics. But, people have done theirs without booking, I wonder what is wrong with those at the gate. Hopefully the new rule will be enforced and everyone will get the same treatment.

Thanks for the clarification.

obainojazz:
I submitted last week, they told everyone without an appointment to go back.. My friend submitted the next day, the same thing happened... They said that's the new rule..
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 9:25pm On May 28, 2019
For biometrics submission at VFS Global? When did this rule come to be please?

obainojazz:
It's no longer that way, now you have to book an appointment.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 9:24pm On May 28, 2019
Yes, it is a good sign if medical is requested. Congratulations in advance on your visa approval and subsequent issuance.

ghabrhiel10:
I received a correspondence letter for biometric validity today, is this a good sign? Medical was requested too, done and updated to passed last week
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 9:22pm On May 28, 2019
Hello,
Just go with your international passport and the letter of notification for the biometric submission.
You're to go to VFS Global
Manor Hall, Ikate Roundabout,
Lekki, Lagos.
For a more detailed address please check on Google.

Ibitowaoa:
Hello house, pls I have been notified to come for biometrics.
Do I make an appointment or I should just go?. Also, I will like to know the address where the biometrics is been administered.
Thanks.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 2:08am On May 28, 2019
I don't know of any consequences of not doing that. Also, I think that's the least of your worries, just hand everything to God, if you're the praying type, and believe Him for your study permit.

obainojazz:
Thanks, but I'm not talking about the application for study permit made outside of Canada form... I meant the study permit questionnaire where you are expected to use pen, I don't think I wrote my name there.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 10:20pm On May 27, 2019
If you mean the IMM form for Application for a Study Permit made outside Canada, then there could be a problem.

Hopefully it's a mistake and you did write your name. If you submitted an online application, there's no way you'd have validated that document without the appropriate fields being filled. So I don't think you skipped that.

And if it was a paper application, the documents would have been cross-checked before submission.

obainojazz:
Hello guys
It just hit me that I probably didn't write my name on the study permit questionnaire... Is that a big issue?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Bracha: 10:14pm On May 27, 2019
According to IRCC, if the internship is required to compete your study in Canada, then you need to apply for a coop permit. I don't know nairaland's rule on posting IRCC link, I would have posted the exact link.

A graduate assistant is different from a coop work. A GA is carried out in the school (on campus) while a coop is done outside the school and one is paid separately and even more money than when undergoing a GA.

chisongozi:
Please enlighten me more on this. I got an admission with funding. But I will be expected to work in the university 4hours per week as a graduate assistant. Also the program involves internship opportunity. So will this program be regarded as co-op option?
