Your SOP being 4 pages long doesn't matter. What matters is how well you address and articulate the answers to the questions: why this course? Why this school? Why Canada? What would this course do for you? What would bring you back to Nigeria? Write the SOP very well, submit the required documents, and you'll get your visa by God's grace. Francology41: My SOP is up to 4 pages... Hope I'm safe? |

Family ties means you need to prove you have strong family ties in Nigeria, that would necessitate your returning after the completion of your degree.
Purpose of visit means you need to write a better statement of purpose which would clearly state the your reasons for choosing the course, school, Canada, and what you intend to do with the degree when you return.
Finance means they don't think you have enough money to pay your fees and cater for yourself in Canada without working. So, you have to prove all these.
Please go through the previous pages of this thread, especially pages 1 of each new thread, to find out ways to address these refusal reasons.
Good luck.

Write a better statement of purpose that's all. A clearer, more straightforward and straight to the point type would suffice. Jadezion: • I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee.

Hi, I'm curious to know what you thought you needed stamps for? To convince the VO you had travelled out of Nigeria? A "travel history" refusal reason is just a generic reason that accompanies most refusal letters, it doesn't really have any weight. The other reasons on the other hand, are the main reasons you should have addressed. I and a lot of people got our visas without a travel history, as in we got our visas on brand new passports. Hopefully you've learned from this, and can properly advise someone else in the future. Francology41: Mehn! I went to get stamps from our immigration at MM airport in lagos (dubia, Ghana and ivory Coast stamps)... The immigration officers I met there were assuring me that I can use it anywhere (since I'm applying for Canadian study visa)....
After some thorough thinking, I decided I will not use it (I've not used it), my body nor dey carry anything illegal.
I had to go to passport office and told them I lost my passport and request for a new one. 120k (for stamps) and 60k for the passport gone just like that. |

Go to your secondary school first to find out. If they say it is impossible, then use your WAEC, but until you go to your school, you won't know if it is possible or not. Also, even if it's a public school, they should have your records. So please try. CampusCastle: Thank you.
Yes, I'm applying for an undergraduate degree.
Do secondary Schools give academic transcript? I have never heard of it before. I thought it's only tertiary institutions that provide transcripts. I'm guessing that will be hard to get o

Has anyone or does anyone know someone who got admission into Biological, Biomedical or Microbiology MSc program in Canada with a second class lower degree (CGPA of <3.2/5.0) from a Nigeria university?
If you know of any, kindly state the university in Canada and if possible, let me know the handle of the person.

Your fiancé isn't a strong proof of home tie, please include other proofs. Good luck. Aisha77: OK I didn't get response to my inquiries but that's OK. I hope to just get everybody view on this.
First refusal in march-sufficient availability of funds to pay tuition without working, purpose and ties
Second refusal june- travel history, purpose , ties and personal asset. I have travel history and personal asset listed in all applications. From all said purpose and ties boils down to Sop.
Now school starts in sept 1 and have limited time and want to apply immediately.
How can I address this without sounding desperate to migrate when I'm just desperate to save time. I am 30 and engaged, he has agreed to give me a year to finish school so I am desperate for time because its now or maybe never. |

It is about the articulation of your study plan, and not necessarily the format of the SOP. alao1981: Dear All, initial application in March refused on the sole basis of "purpose of visit". From the support on this platform, I have since realized that the reason is probably the SOP (8 pages and complicated). GCMS notes just showed up and the explanation is that "The applicant's Plan of studies appears vague and poorly documented". I wanted to confirm that this is indeed about the format of the SOP and not mean something else. Thank you. |

This has crossed my mind before. While I don't think there is a particular way to "solve it", because in all sincerity it cannot be solved. What I suggest is putting in an early application to avoid stories that do not touch. k997bomb: Sorry this doesn't answer your question. But I have to ask A particular monicker posted previously that during this period the VOs usually give a general denial letter and the gcms notes the guy posted is the same as the this particular one. Does that really mean that there is actually a number of applications they can approve each month? How do we solve this issue if they don't really review some applications and give a general denial and the same gcms note reason. |

From my personal experience, you do not need to fill or upload that document. The visa you get on approval of your study permit application is a TRV (temporary resident visa) already. You only get your study permit when you get to Canada. Please if you can apply by yourself - this is very possible, 90% of us here did it ourselves - apply, and don't engage the services of an agent. Good luck. Vesment: Please I got the same thing as reason for refusal and an agent applied for me online. Please do I n need to upload Schedule 1 - Application for a Temporary Resident Visa Made Outside Canada (IMM 5257) Online because am reapplying (Opens a new window) |

1. Modify that post you made by deleting the picture, then edit that picture and remove all your details, especially name, surname, application and uci (if applicable). After it has been edited and your personal information redacted, you can attach it again to a post. 2. I am assuming you submitted just these documents because of ignorance, so I would neither castigate nor scold you. I'll just suggest you go to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/index.asp to check the required documents. Or you could check this link out https://www.nairaland.com/4773130/canadian-student-visa-thread-part#71833412. When you've done your due diligence, but still have more questions, come back and ask them. Good luck. The trend since the beginning of the year has been if one gets one before medical request, the application would most likely be denied. But as I now see that a lot of applicants have received it in the same time frame, it could be a new trend. One can never tell, one just has to watch and wait. bukonlami: Thanks @Bracha Is it okay if one receives biometric validation letter before medical request. |

Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Bracha: 5:58pm On Jun 18, 2019 |
Biometric validation letter: a letter informing you of the validity of your submitted biometrics. It's normally valid for 10 years. Biometric request letter: a letter requesting you submit your biometrics to the visa application Centre. From what I have seen here, BVL and the Biometrics correspondence letter are one and the same. Then there's the Correspondence letter/Letter of Introduction: this letter is given to you just as you get your visa counterfoil or after. It's the letter that introduces you at the port of entry into Canada. Some call it correspondence letter, while others call it letter of introduction. Hope this helps. bukonlami: Guys please what is the difference between biometric validation letter and correspondence letter.i dont understand oooo. |

I am not the right person to give this advise but here's my opinion, if you want to combine them, start it as an SOP: Introduce yourself: name, educational background, and intended course of study. How you took an interest in the course and why you chose that school for that course. Then tackle reason for refusal, you can start with 'I have previously applied for this visa but was refused based on...... Here is how I have addressed/tackled these reasons for refusal...... Finish by stating why you'll come back to Nigeria, and what you intend to do with the course here. These reasons for coming back have to be compelling and convincing enough. Good luck. hiambenson: Good evening, guys.
Pls, I'm about to reapply for my study visa and I would like to know if it's better to combine both SOP and LOE as LOE by beginning the LOE with an explanation on the tackled reason for denial and finish same letter up with SOP or is it wiser to write them individually?? I'm thinking of doing the former...
I've read about people who wrote theirs separately and some did a combination of both SOP and LOE as LOE. I would like to know the best way to go about this.
