Why not try a different provider apart from IOM? Secondly, I haven't heard that late applications positively correlates with the rates of refusals. Just ensure that you apply for the priority service and if you have the funds, do a super priority. I remember that the University of Dundee had a culture of refunding students who used the priority or super-priority the difference between their payments and the cost for a standard service.

Rena1212:
Helo everyone , please I’m totally confuse and scared please I need your suggestion.
I went to IOM Benin for Tb test, after the X-ray the doctor said he will place me on sputum which result is expected to be out 10 week which is 1st week of September, and my class start by September 13. Trying to book with other clinics center under Uk recommended ones the dates available are august 22 upward.
Now the question is should I wait for that IOM and is it possible the result comes out august ending?
And is it advisable to apply for visa by that September? Because I heard applying for visa late always leads to visa rejection, please how true is this ?

Thank you very much.

Hello

Tracking is on TLS end

Ideally It should be within 24-48hrs

However, I have seen people collect their passport without the tracker even changing

Look out for your collection mail not just the tracker

Cheers

Good morning Duchess and other precious people, please I called UKVI and I was told that a decision has been made yet the TLS tracking showed it it's still at the DMC. For those with similar experiences, what was the duration between when you got a response that a decsion has been made and when you got an email or the TLS was updated? Thanks
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 9 by BRAINNY(m): 8:43pm On Jul 20, 2023
Why not save yourself the stress of another application next year. Here is why:

1. Next year, the health surcharge will increase by 66% from £624 to £1,035 per year while the visa fees would be increased by at least 20%(Read about the planned changes announced by the PM on July 13th here :https://kpmg.com/xx/en/home/insights/2023/07/flash-alert-2023-144.html)

2. As Nigerian, you'll undergo a TB test when you arrive Netherlands (it's free, only this countries are exempted
https://ind.nl/en/forms/7644.pdf). Having lived in Netherland for over a year, you wouldn't need to do a TB test when applying a for a UK visa.

3. The publication is that by January 24th 2024, MSc (except those by research) cannot bring in dependents. Your husband is commencing his programme by Sept, what IF they state that since you didn't join him while coming you can't now apply one-year into his programme as a dependent? Isn't that too much risk to take? But then know that either way, one of you will visit during this year of your masters in Netherlands. Except if it's your husband who exclusively does, if eventually you do, you would be coming on a visitor's visa( meaning any savings from not applying now is really marginal - a visitor visa + the dependent visa in a year's time). All this can be avoided if you make the application now. Remember that you've done your POF already.

**** You can apply for a UK visa from the Netherlands, whatever currency that you use( the euro in this case), it should be equivalent to the amount to cover your living expenses.

In Summary: The future is unpredictable, it is only the present that is guaranteed. Apply now and have easy entry and exit. All the best ma'am.

Iamblessed202:
Good evening everyone

@duchess90

Please help.

My husband just collected his CAS today and we are planning to apply for visa together next week when my (the dependant) POF will be matured, but another development came in.

I will have to be in Netherlands for a full sponsored master's program by end of August. So we are thinking my husband should just apply alone and I will be visiting him from Netherlands. My course is a year and his course is for two years. My plan is to be visiting him in the UK till I finish my program and join him permanently.

My question now is:
1. Is it possible to apply for uk dependant visa from the Netherlands as a Nigerian student?

2. If possible, can I apply next year or it must be this year, because of the ban?
Note: My husband admission is for September 2023 and the course RQF level 7.

3. When applying will I have to show POF in naira or Euro because the university will open an account for me there?

4. We did our TB test together earlier this month in Nigeria and I fill Nigeria as departure. Can I still use it or I have to do another TB test over there?

Please everyone, I would appreciate if you can assist with these questions.

Thanks

Hello Everyone,

I have this concern by passport would expire 22nd May 2024 and I want to apply for a Visa by 1st August next month. My course starts from 25 Sept to 22 September 2024. Hope this won't be an issue? Also your kind advice would be appreciated
Get a new passport, your passport has to cover the duration of your programme. It’s even a condition for issuing CAS. Back when I applied for my first visa, my school instructed me to get a new passport because the one I had was to expire before the end of my academic programme.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 9 by BRAINNY(m): 12:43pm On Jul 19, 2023
Thanks for the clarity. It means there's an increased volume of applications since we're at the peak period. The majority of schools are resuming in September. But I'm surprised that a priority service can last more than 15 days as against the advertised 5 working days. Isn't that a ground for litigation? No mind me sha, I dey over think this thing. E dey pain.

Olamilekzy29:
Hello, I don’t think it’s either because of the location or being priority or not.
I did priority since June 20th in Abuja but I’m yet to get any decision. I did a paid call on 30th and got an empty NSF mail on 3rd of July from DMC. Ever since then I have not heard from them and it’s still at DMC. Just waiting for 15 working days to elapse before I make another paid call.

Cheers

Hello house please I need help cause I am thinking so bad I have done my biometric sing may 24 uk student visa and I have gotten any email from them also I did a paid mail 4 times and paid call 2twice but all they say is still on DCM please when can I do cause it up 2months I have applied now I and my wife still we didn’t get any email from them.

I just need you people help I don’t know what to do cause am confused.

I will be glad to hear from people who has experience this issue before .
Your situation isn't peculiar. Similar situation with yours biometric (Ikeja) -May 22nd; NSF Mail -June 28th, replied same day; Paid call( I was told they've escalated it). Well, as at yesterday, it was still at the DMC. Note that a lot of people don't use nairaland, we could have heard more of such complaints too. By the way, I have noted that such delays are common with the Ikeja centre. It's tiring to be candid but the waiting continues.
Anyone who can afford it and is using the Ikeja centre should simply go for priority or super priority to avoid this stress.

If your brother will accommodate you, go to London; accommodation is the biggest drawback for those in London. London has a lot of jobs more than any other city in the UK. I worked in the University of Sunderland in the London campus. Go there, you don't have anything to be worried about.

duncanmighty:
Good evening Duchess and all fellow members. I have a quick question and advise.
I was offered admission into university of sunderland , sunderland. However it just occurred to me they have a campus located in london . My brother lives in london and I am considering the.possibility of changing from sunderland campus to london campus so as to ease accommodation cost if I opted for london campus.

I have written to the university of sunderland, though and got a reply from.the university of sunderland, london that I should upload all the documents in their portal .

Is it a wise idea?

Secondly, in terms of part time job opportunities, I hope it's reasonable in london compared to sunderland.

Kindly assist with your honest advise as ever.
Bless!

Biometrics - May 22nd; NSF -June 28th,replied that same day; Escalation Mail- July 17th. Quite protracted, I must say.

Yaya88:
When did you do your biometrics?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 9 by BRAINNY(m): 4:05pm On Jul 17, 2023
You apply for her separately, while applying you'll supply the sponsor evidence (your BRP, your visa and your CAS), family information (marriage certificate, newspaper publication, affidavit of change of name, family pictures, communication with her -some folks attached download of history of chats with spouse), financial evidence (bank statement). The bank statement can be in her name or your name( if she has done change of name). The evidence may be much, but it's always better to over provide than to under provide.

ugwukcee:
Thanks for your candid and straight forward answer. I appreciate and my confidence has been invigorated. Pls am I supposed to be the one to apply for her or she can do a serate application herself to join her spouse in the UK? Thanks
Note: I am assuming that your visa has been approved and you've travelled already. But even if you haven't, presumably you have collected your visa but wouldn't have collected your BRP. Just supply the documents that you have from the list above.

Any response?

BRAINNY:
Hello guys, for those who escalated, did it expedite the process by any means? Did you get any email after the paid call? Then again, how is the paid call charged, I used a UBA card. Application -15th May; Biometrics-22nd May; NSF 28th June, replied/responded the same day. The whole thing is still with the DMC- it'll soon be two months. Absolutely tiring!
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 9 by BRAINNY(m): 2:47pm On Jul 17, 2023
That shouldn't be something to be worried about; they also are aware that circumstances change. You should have a marriage or civil partnership certificate for your partner, your funds via Bank statement to cover her stay. While filling the visa they'll ask for the documents they need. Besides, if they need further documents they'll request for them. A friend came for MSc, later went back to Nigeria, got married and brought her spouse. Stop getting worried. One more thing, you should have pictures and of course chats and any other evidence over time to show that the relationship is genuine.

There was the case of an arranged marriage where they were refused at the POE. A simple question like her spouse's full name asked by The border force the lady wasn't able to answer. How can you have a husband and don't know his full name. Na so yawa gas !

ugwukcee:
Hi group.
@ @duchess90 please. Am having fears. I got my visa in May, I indicated I had no one depending on me for financial support. Now am getting married next month, is it possible to apply for my wife a UK visa as dependant? What do I need as proof and Pls if this is possible or have been achieveed before, how do I go about it? Thanks for all you do here, it will be great

Fosibo:
Hello, pls I’m coming to MiddleSex university from nigeria, I just made part payment of school fees today, pls can I know the next stage?
Secondly, woukd I been needing a tuberculosis test?
For starters, start your Proof of funds(POF), so that you can use it to get your CAS. However, if you school doesn't need POF before issuing CAS, just proceed with POF, after 28 days, print out your statement (To avoid stories, you can request your SOA be signed and stamped after printing). Do your TB test, then apply for your visa, using your POF, CAS, TB test and other required docs to apply for VISA. But then if you're in Lag or Abuja; there's nothing wrong in doing your TB while your POF is running. But if you live in a state where you have to travel, then wait till your funds mature, so that when you travel, you can do your TB test, apply for VISA and if possible do your biometrics before returning to the place you're domiciled.

MatrixReloaded:
To get your information well he's being sponsored by someone from UK, is the person his father or mother or spouse? Did they provide letter of consent to use such SOA.
To digress thus if the MA is using own SOA, how did he manage to acquire such huge amount without working, owning own business paying tax, investments stock maturity, fixed deposit. He should be able to defend the funds nah..
If MA keep mute, risk ban 10years cos this is sensitive of MA funding and risk forfeiting deposited money to school.

UKVi distaste money laundry, money flipping, money recycling, and money bulking.
Thanks for your reply. The MA is using personal SOA, the person funding works in the UK; they are partners but not yet married so the MA's personal account was funded by the partner since their names are still different.

Hi guys, the ECO was concerned about the POF and requested that the MA (coming on tier 4) should supply what's the person has been doing since graduation in 2018. The issue is the MA, went for NYSC, and later got admission for an MSc but with covid and later ASUU strike, the programme has been prolonged. The sponsor works in the UK and sent in the money that was used for POF. The question is, how should this proof be provided?
