Goodmorning. Please I put 1 month in the application letter I wrote for their visitation and now that the visa has been granted for 6 months . Can they stay upto 3 or 4 months in UK .

It's too much in my opinion. Stick to the one month and when 6 months is over, apply for 2 years and they can stay averagely for 3 months.

Just my personal opinion.

I suggested counting out EE because even though very related, from friends that are studying it here:
1. The program is not under computer science or informatics faculty.
2. The few that I know are more of the hardware part of IT than the software part.
3. Most don't offer more than a module for core IT courses and they might even be the elective module.

If you will agree with me, it is the software part (Software/Information Engineering, Data Science/Analytics/Engineering, Design etc. ) of IT that is HOT all over the world.

If you are wondering about what this means, the three points I mentioned determines the type of faculty members(Professors) the program will have (access to), which determines the type of research(group) they have, which determines the type of companies they are collaborating with and thereby determines what they will teach you as well as how they will teach. Can also determines the type of jobs you will be exposed to and might get during and after your study.
e.g a senior lecturer (not even a Prof.) taking a Big Data course, after a class said he is looking for interns for a project (which his company his working on), many people applied and he took-in not less than 10 and the number reduces along the line and I know not less than 2 that continue to work with him in full time capacity after graduation. So, you also have to play the game of possible availability of opportunity and that was why I also mentioned applied science schools earlier.

For a foreign student, ways to gather work experience while studying that I know about are: Internships, Research Assistants (or Tutoring), Research Placements, Working Student and short-term professional work. Each with different requirements (skill and expertise).

You do not really need to be in the big cities, just that the proximity might helps in nailing down the aforementioned experiences, especially if your German language is not yet smooth. The good thing (from my experience), no employer discriminates against schools so far you have what it takes to do whatever they need you for.

I understand your point, but let me tell you this from experience.
Every semester I do a compulsory course module in core IT (Software engineer). We have cover all the UML diagrams so far and we are in intermediate C and C++ programming and we even integrate this with hardware programming i.e microcontroller.

Not to talk of the fact that there are specialized compulsory modules in Interactive system design.

So far in EE program, we have been exposed to tools and skills like SOLIDWORKS, Qt, Arduino programming, C, C++, UML diagrams, MATLAB....

In short, electronic engineering in Germany is basically engineering and IT and yes it might not be as specific as studying data analytics and the likes as these are mostly offered as masters courses. Even information engineering is just like EE

You have 10 years to study as a foreign student in Germany the last time I checked. A BSc will take you an average of 2.5 - 4 years (pretty sure you won't be doing studienkolleig), Unless you have already used 3 years to study MSc and still want to do PhD, so most time, people still have enough time. If you have the grit, you can even finish earlier ...and if the BSc is even IT, you will gather enough work experience before you graduate to make smooth transition into the main employment market. Personally, the only con I know is the "shame" attached, that is if you care though..

The issue here is our mentality, you left Nigeria for MSc, completed or half way done ...only to now switch to another BSc. .. you sef reason am.. how e go sound for ear? how you go take table am for friends/families back at home(in NG)? but the reality is, your life is your life, every other thing/body will follow you as soon as you take any decision. Switching, terminating or pausing programs is kinda new to our culture as it looks like failure but I know of non-Nigerians, Germans that have done each of the three.


If you are making a switch to IT.. you should prioritize applied science schools though..

Everything you have said so far makes sense.
But can I ask why you don't count electronics engineering as IT? Is it because of how it sounds?
How does getting work experience before graduation works? Most of schools that offer IT bsc courses aren't in big cities so that's another limitation.

I have a friend studying in Camerino, Italy and he will be sending an invitation letter to me and the italian embassy ahead of my Visa preparation as I still need a visa to enter Italy. I will be staying in Rome BUT I am interested in Visiting this three places( MILAN - LYONS - GENEVA) due to the fact they are close to each other compared to (ROME-LYON-GENEVA) but i will be staying in Rome which makes it a lil bit difficult..

My Host suggested that driving (ROME-LYON-GENEVA) might not be a good idea cos of the distance and suggested train and buses even(Flight by RYAN AIR)..

To those that have done this europe tour before, Kindly give me tips on how to make my journey a very stress free one. . I need tips on movement especially and other things that might help out.. Is bus/trains very cheap compared to renting a car? etc

I'll be going with my wife, so the flight for two is ($1460 lets say $1500) and my budget is $2500, maximum $2700

I would have love to go to Budapest too but I just need to make sure i got everything in order as not to get confused/lost. trying to maximise my time to the fullest. I only have 6 nights to spend..

Getting around with public transport is quite good and easy here. You can travel between countries with bus at ridiculously cheap prices but I don't think renting a car will be a bad idea but I haven't done that before.

You might want to read about Eurail tickets also. Plus flight tickets are even cheaper than bus tickets sometimes. I have booked a return ticket from Germany to London for €32. Thanks to Ryanair and easyJet.....

Don't see how the mechanism itself should be responsible for this since its not popping in and out during this period, might be a software ish.

The way I see it is that there is something that keeps it standing and when it stands for long, it drains battery. And this is also coupled with the software too.

Camera as a whole drains a lot of battery.

This particular pop-up mechanism drains it faster.

So I noticed that using the pop-up front camera for a long video call drains the battery of Mi 9T like nothing else.

I think the answer is no as the passport doesn't have a visa ans you don't even have access to it again.

They should come to East London (Bethnal Green, Whitechapel, Stepney Green and Mile end and see wonders). Too many properties, some of them council flats used for this business. Most of them are Asians and making a killing. I do Airbnb almost every week day and must confess it's a life saver.

I got a sample of the cover letter on the internet.
We live in a different part of the world and the requirements aren't the same.
Balance certificate is allowed in Germany, statement of account is necessary for application from Nigeria.

I applied for UK visa from Germany and it took exactly 15 days to get my passport back with a 6month visa stamp.

I have been following this thread for quite a while now but I just couldn't get the specific information I needed.

Here's a list of documents I sent.

Invitation letter, BRP and reference letter from the person inviting me place of work.

My study status certificate and a letter from my university ( though a friend told me the letter wasn't necessary)

Balance certificate ( I was really scared of this because reading this thread and seeing people refused based on statement of account ish. And here I was applying with just a printout account balance)

A cover letter ( I had to write this because I was worried about certain questions while filling the online form because I had a stopover in Heathrow this year and I got stamped in for 24hrs because I missed my flight and I had no visa)

Job contract and 2 months payslip

Residence permit, social and tax number

Hotel reservation.

Note: even though the website states that documents that are not in English have to be officially translated, there were some documents that were totally in German and I submitted then that way.

In case anyone has any other specific question, please ask.

1, what's the regular schedule like, say for a masters student , how many hours a day does knew expect to be in school for classes or field work. form what time to what time on average, I know it varies
from school to school but I just want a guesstimate.

2. when working and schooling, how do you manage the time and can you decide how many hours you work each day to accumulate the maximum 20hrs allowed per week, for Instance, 3hrs on Monday, 2 on Tues, 3hrs on Wed. etc.


3 . and for housing, is it advisable to go for the student hostel or go private? , heard there are government houses in some places. that are really cheap and the plus side is you get live around regular people and not just students

For a master's student, you go to school twice or three times in a week.

2&3 It's quite easy of you study and work in the same city, but not all jobs are flexible and you don't really get to choose how many hours you want to work except it's a part time job.

Where I work now, it's quite flexible that I can choose which day to work. During the semester I have to work 10 times in a month to complete my 80 hours limit.
