Swtcherries: I've always known that Dany will be a mad queen and a tyrant, its in their blood. She has succeeded in burning down a whole city and its occupants, she will rule ashes.
Best scenes 1) When Arya was trampled during the stampede. The fear was real.
2) The fight between the hound and mountain.
I watched this episode with my boyfriend, he hid behind my back and couldn't look when the mountain was bursting the hound's eyes, lmao. tough guy your bf is Cut him some slack will you? |

Nelsizzy: Moral officer. You don't like the way she went about it, others do. It's a series not a real life event, you don't have to get all emotional because of that. besides, the medieval type era in which it was set doesn't have our humanist codes of conduct that we have today, back then might was right! We might read articles of history today but for those who lived through it on the loosing side there was no greater trauma to be experienced |

SerVik: Jamie won't kill cercei. It would be quite a stupid plot twist if the showrunners decide to go that route.
Cersei is carrying his baby, that should count for something. Killing her would also mean taking the life of his unborn child, something I don't think Jamie is capable of. we hate most passionately those we once loved with similar passion! Jamie knows cersei lies, until the end of last season Jamie never believed cersei was capable of lying to him, now she sent bronn to kill him he knows she's capable of doing worse than mere lying to him. So like he told brienne, cersei is capable of terrible hate......................... So was he! Now guess who he hates? |

DP84: While the recent episode taught me a huge lesson about sticking my neck out for people, this very thread has taught me a greater lesson that humans are not deserving of help.
Dany is presently running at a huge loss. In the space of a little time, she has lost a whole lot. A hoarde of Dothraki, over half of his unsullied soldiers, if she didn't venture into the North, Viserion wouldn't have been speared from the sky. Although we weren't told what would have happened to humanity if Bran had been killed by the NK but what I do know is that the the entire North would have been leveled in an instant the NK went beyond the wall had Dany not sacrificed to be there.
She could have easily taken the Iron Throne but suspended the idea to fight with the North. Jon Snow would have known he was a Targaryen before the arrival of the Night King but he would have perished and we wouldn't be having this back and forth over Dany being selfish.
Perhaps people don't understand that Dany believes she is sent by some whatever to be the liberator of the people. The walk through fire reinforced that belief, not just within her but those who witnessed it.
I don't want to concern myself with who gets the Throne for now but should Dany turn out to be a Mad Queen then I say so be it! Most humans would break and cave in if the things happening to her were to happen to them in reality.
Those who would be able to relate to what Dany is passing through right are those who have stuck out their necks for people and got burnt terribly in the end. You'll never understand her if you don't picture yourself in her shoes.
She is obsessed about the Throne, no doubt. She has lost soldiers, and trusted friends because of her kind act. Asking her to forget the Throne is similar to saying one should give one's dream for whatever reasons there are. amen bruv Amen! |

crixuss: No. Your initial argument was that the modern day Art of War which Game of Thrones relies on in its story telling was derived from the bible and dictated by God as evidenced in Deuteronomy and I called bullshit on that claim. Here are your exact words:
"Starting from the Bible which the modern day 'Act of War' based its principles on, God instructed the israelites on what to do before engaging in war, who to kill, what to kill, who to enslave etc. (Deuteronomy 20:10, reading the entire chapter is advisable)"
No. The rules of war in all historical societies don't look the same. The rules of law of the Mongols, also known as the Yassa, was different from that of the Islamic and Persian. territories they conquered. The rules of war of the Visigoths was different from that of the Romans. Rules of war have always differed across cultures and geographical territories, and some weren't even laid at all. Whatever similarities they share are almost negligible when put up against the weight of their differences.
NO. HELL NO. The rules of war that was crafted in Geneva IS NOT SIMILAR to the rules dictated in Deuteronomy or Leviticus or Numbers or Exodus. This is palpably absurd. How can you even make this sort of claim? The Israelites were a genocidal group of warriors. Their rules of war given to them by their God allowed for wiping out of entire nations, including the murder of children and babies. The Geneva war guidelines doesn't even allow for killing of unarmed civilians, let alone ethnic cleansing which was endorsed by the God of the Israelites. The Geneva guidelines also prohibit the capture of unarmed civilians and the use of them as slaves. But the rules of war of the Israelites allowed for the enslavement of members of the conquered territories. Whatever similarity is shared between the Geneva guidelines and the Deuteronomy account doesn't admit of a causal relationship between the two, but rather the presence within the biblical myth of commonsensical notions of war that any society could have come up with through military experience. Amen brother |

Isomerizm: I modified my post, read it.
Your conclusion is basically a conjecture. There was no scene to prove or disprove you.
Your 'pain, endurance madness/tenacity' is a comparative one. And who's to say he doesn't have these qualities in superior amounts relative to Qhorin? Because there were no famed lords beyond the wall to speak of Jaime, or there was no testing opportunity for him? true that, those are all my personal opinions , my conjecture on Jamie's lack of forbearance comes from his breakdown after having his sword hand chopped off |

Isomerizm: Jon or Qhorin?
Anyways, your question isn't about their individual fighting abilities which this discourse is fundamentally about. To answer your question, yes, I think Jaime would have continued a fight with Robb, if the wolf interfered.
Mehn! It was a tad difficult reading that. Punctuation, bro. my bad, qhorin. On Jamie continuing to fight with a direwolf's fangs sunk in his calf I think not! Jamie was a southern softie, a gallant fighter and great warrior but without that pain endurance madness/tenacity that made legends of people on the wall and beyond so i disagree with you |
TV/Movies › Re: Game Of Thrones Discussion (Beware Of Spoilers) by BraniacX(m): 8:44pm On May 06, 2019 |
Isomerizm: I didn't read about Qhorin, or people's views of him.
In the end, it still all boils to popular and individuated opinions. Or what history records. The way everyone, bar Howland Reed and Bran, believes Ned beat Dayne, and draws conclusion from this popular lie, that Ned was better than Dayne. The same way posterity of Westeros will believe Gregor was a more skillful fighter than Oberyn. there were 7 kingdom legends and there were nightswatch and wildling legends, they exist independently and interdependently of each other, the trick is to source opinions or POViews of those with knowledge of both legend factions |

Magnifico2000: I think Dany is becoming too over ambitious which I think it's really killing her game in taking the iron Throne. She is just too selfish and adamant. All she wants is the iron Throne regardless of any cost. Even though I never for once like Sansa, I welcomed her suggestion of resting the remaining army that survived the great war. Dany could have just listened to her but she felt she is already the queen and her own opinion is the final. you don't take siestas and work leaves or even rest when your enemy doesn't in the game of thrones, especially when that enemy has no honor, turn your back (a.k.a rest) is committing harakiri! That's how Robb Stark died |
