bros I never compared it to game of thrones. they have nothing in common. i was the first to call out a guy that compared it to game of thrones in this thread.

the witcher reminds me of shannara chronicles in the sense that it has too much magic and no story. it was a beautiful nonsense.

i only gave it 6/10 because of the mature content and henry cavill. without them, it's a 3/10 show.

people here are either overrating the show or underrating it. people who are dissapointed are those who got carried away by the hype. i have played the witcher game and read the book ( didn't finish the book ).

Netflix is trying 3 things here ... 1. their own narrative 2. the book 3. and the game side missions ...
if you are not a fan of the game and the book there is no way you will understand this series the first season, i understand what Netflix is trying to do.

also i agree with you the timeline is fvcked and the gap is too wide to make sense which is why i gave the series 7.5/10 ... it's a fantastic series still in my own opinion but the timeline Gap doesn't make sense as compare to the book.

i don't know what the fuss is all about, it's either people expected way too much from the series or they are not a fan of Fantasy at all ... just like the other guy said maybe part of the reason why people didn't appreciate this series is the fact that all episode was released at once ( for a fantasy series )

the series is still fantastic for me but saying it's better than Got is absurd!!


In fact if they can get the timeline right in season 2 it will be great, there is just so much to explore and this series has the potential to get renewed till season 5 ....

if you are a fan of fantasy.. IT'S A GREAT SHOW. it's 8 episode ( 1 hour per episode ) .. you've got nothing to lose ( except maybe your time ) ...

since this is holiday period, you've still got nothing to lose

another confusing thing is when the sorceress said Jennifer is her best student, there is nothing in season 1 that shows Jennifer as her best student, if anything she's a failure in the series but if you've read the book you will understand.

maybe there still more flashback to explain how Jennifer came to be the best sorceress

again it's a very good series with its faults ( like Got )

am a fan of fantasy and i've played the game(although am yet to finish it), but the show was boring asf. it's far from a great show.

it's problem are two things;
1) most times it has no story
2)and when it tried to tell a story, the story is not structured.

it's a very confusing show that ended where it started.

hopefully season 2 will correct some of these error and make it watchable.

hands down one of the best fight sequences I have ever seen in a movie. fight scenes are more realistic and better than john wick 1,2&3.

I liked the way the men were throwing charlize theron around like a rag doll, and she was only able to win fights by fighting defensively and dirty. they nailed the realism dead on.

releasing shows all at once isn't the problem.

if the story is captivating and interesting enough, viewers will recommend it.

also the cgi is a mess at times. the shitty dragon cgi nearly made me stop watching.

i've reduced my rating to 6/10 and if the season finale doesn't impress me, i might end up giving it 5/10 overall.

my mvp are the makeup artists. if I hadn't known beforehand that charlize theron was the protagonist, I wouldn't have known she was in that movie. my god! never seen her look so ugly. sad movie but i was impressed as hell.

I watched the first few eiposides of GOT and that was it. Never watched the other two.

Tried watching the witcher due to the hype. The pilot episode was a bit okay. I struggled through the second and by the time I finished the third, I had seen enough to know I'll never enjoy it.

everyone has their pet peeves. for example i can't stand cartoons. no matter how good they're supposed to be I can't stand anything that is not live-action.
