steppin:Dude Dexter, Better Call Saul and esp House Of Cards are more slowing burning than Homeland & Breaking Bad self. some might even argue that Homeland and Breaking Bad shouldn't be on that list because of their inconsistent pace(sometimes the pace quickens in an episode or 2 before dropping to it's customary claw). Breaking Bad's last 8 episodes esp the last 2 are definitely not slow burners. Dexter's plot definitely claws as Dexter tries to hunt a prey and at the same time hide his true self in plain sight, but that's okay cos that's how I love my shows, slow and steady. Better Call Saul is a guaranteed slow burner, one minute into the show and you'd know this instantly, it claws even slower than it's predecessor Breaking Bad. House Of Cards is another well established slow burner. Political games ain't meant to be fast paced you know?(pay Shonda Rhimes Scandal no mind, that woman's a drama queen). all this shows are quality television because of their languid style of storytelling. |
Kaycee7:Only the first 3 make sense for that list,the rest....meh. I hate cartoons. |
American crime really enjoying GloDataOverload thingy. |

bykebyke:your own be small thing self. there was a time I downloaded 13 episode of a show and 7 turned out to be spanish dubbed. I nearly cried that day ehn. |
koice:Alright |
iyke1989:if being visceral means I don't laugh at crude nonsensical humor then I don't mind at all. there are comedy shows out here that stays relevant without any vulgarism present.Modern Family, Fresh off the boat, Outnumbered, The Haves and The Haves not but to name a few. I love those shows, no grotesque revolving needed at all. Even when profanity is involve, at least make the humor high brow, take Veep and The Thick Of It for instance. those shows are entertainingly funny but also quietly dignified in ways that shows like The Brink will never hope to be. |
iyke1989:Well I can understand why it appealed to people like you, it's toilet humor has a very large audience esp popular among late teens and young adults but fortunately I don't like toilet humor so I wasn't amused at all. I like my humor full of pensive but catchy punchline and humorous without needing to wallow in the greyish murky waters of the toilet. |
bykebyke:better make them your priorities o. those shows are guaranteed to blow your mind. |
iyke1989:the show suck joor! Try as hard as I may I couldn't find one genuine credible humor devoid of meaningless profanity and absurdity. Realism wise, the plot is a joke. nothing like that will ever happen and for gods sake who still use FAX machine in this time and age. No pilot is indispensable, you fucck up while on duty, you get dishonourably discharged pronto. Elected officials and government appointees are civil to each other in official capacity esp in the presence of POTOS. The brink made mockery of that in an absurb manner Veep does it all the time but stylishly. I can go on and on, The Brink is a mess. Hbo did the right thing by axing it, it also got bad reviews. |
Bekas:Heard that the plot will be moving from Miracle to Australia. quite a change of scenery. |
koice:Wentworth back? Yipee! Is A place like home any good? |
bykebyke:the best tv shows are usually slow burners. Dexter, Breaking Bad, Hannibal, The leftovers, Better Call Saul, House Of Cards, Homeland, etc. That's where you can find true quality in factual storytelling. |
koice:Well said. The beginning of season 2 baffled me but I was able to make sense of it towards the ending. The show forced me to reflect on many things like life after death and life itself. The show is deep. |
koice:Asin eh. the way they hyped the show ehn, I was like mehn this show will make sense. Instead I couldn't even force myself to laugh even once. From Episode one to 10, the characters were just all silly. The foreign policy politics involved is also grossly inaccurate to say the least. |
The leftovers is one super show. If you ain't watching it you're definitely missing out. |
so I finally watched The Brink amidst all the hype it generated in this thread sometimes ago and guess what, it sucks. the comedy tried too hard to be funny and failed miserably at it. The whole plot was just too silly to be relevant, no wonder it was cancelled. @Koice what do you think? |
chumakk:Mumu. Cave brain. |
Ojochegbe1:Paul is an introvert, that's why. |

samlayi:Preacher is pretty good, the first episode is dope. |
They are both pretty good at what they do, but the Canadian Cameron is actually a real life genius which technically makes him smarter than Jewish American Spielberg. |
Banshee is not the best series ever made, it's not even in the top 20 but it's pretty good all the same. I miss the enigmatic Chayton this season, I don't know why they had to kill him off last season via Hood. |
Sultan5:There is actually a web series called Banshee Origins. Just like the original series is has season 1-4. |
killsmith:I kinda like the way they wrapped it up this season, it's better to quit on a high than ruin the whole show with a mediocre 5th season. There's nothing else left to tell, no other path left to explore. The series is done and dusted. |
Vickyydera:what time did you subscribe? I subscribed for the 2 hrs plan at 9pm thinking that it will activate by 12am, but it didn't. |
I made a mistake of subscribing before 12midnight like I used to do with the normal midnight plan. The thing couldn't browse talkless of downloading, N200 gone down the drain. |
Warning!! Don't ever subscribe earlier than 12midnight because it's bound to be a bust! Always subscribe between 12midnight and 6.00am |
I love psycho-horror, the kind that messes with your brain and leaves you begging for more. any suggestions? |
