mandmis007:A genuine seller wiki be more than willing to post engine pictures with asking price & serious negotiation holding outside the forum. The pictures will allow those who have similar cars or competent mechanics to confirm engine and model. |
mandmis007:actually difficult to suggest an exact solution. My earlier comment was mere postulations. Of course, you have to assume certain conditions especially when they are outside your immediate control. The economy will definitely improve; the question is when? I am an optimistic person but then you have to assume some hypothesis. Given the current scenario, it would be better you do a bit of research to determine the current market value of the car, then you can borrow money to fix it and sell afterwards. Keeping that car will most likely depreciate it's value over time. I don't think it makes sense to keep/store such a car indefinitely. Again, if you are certain of getting money to fix it in about one year, then, it's fine. Otherwise, you may have to sell it as scrap when at that time you decide to sell. Remember, storing it will lead to gradual degrading of the paint work, interior including leather seats owing to heat. To sum up, the burden of choice and decision is upon you & only you. Which course of action you take, please update us. |
USAutoBuy:I'm trying hard to wrap my head around this rant. Those are conjecture to guide his decision. My observation; There's a difference between a person who has a big problem & the one who makes a problem big. You seem to be more interested in him buying from you than actual solution to his problem. |
I have deliberately avoided commenting on this thread but the advise to store the car provoked some thoughts in me as I read. I will make some postulations; what if the current economic situation in Nigeria does not improve in the next couple of years? From statistics point of view, it takes an average of 18 months or more to come out of recession. More so, the current APC led government has no viable economic plan to steer us out of the current situation with their continued blame on the previous administration. The economic realities is likely to worsen. It's common knowledge that cars loose value over time especially when care is lacking. The rate of depreciation will be higher for the car. If you decide after a couple of years to sale, what do you think will be the value of the car at that time? Considering that if you sell AS IS, at the current offer, you will be loosing a significant amount of money to the real value of the car. It's also obvious that you did not insure the car. Such exquisite and luxury car ought to be insured for situations like this. |
All of you are wrong. It means "No Entertainment" in tha car while driving in Borno. Lol! |
There is clung sound coming from the driver's front side shock when I go over a bump or pothole in my 2011 camry. I have replaced the front shocks with kyb and the sound still persists. Tie rod end, sway bay bushing etc. all checked out. I am very uncomfortable with the noise. |
For the driver & vehicle owner, Uber in Abuja makes no sense. It's energy sapping. The rates are very poor, riders are rude to drivers and most of them are irrational as they abuse the platform because it's cheap. The current economic realities have made people to continue to drive on the platform. I bet most drivers will leave as soon as things improve. Uber would have been a good platform if it's properly organised to benefit the drivers & partners alike as well as de-register rude and irrational riders from the platform. You find all manner of riders on the platform both those who ordinarily should not ride on such vehicles. Most of these riders are those who cannot afford regular taxis but will come to Uber and occupy the car owner's seat as lords with utmost disrespect to the drivers some of whom have degree and master certificates. This also depicts the falsehood in most Abuja residents. In Lagos however, I think the prices are relatively okay for the partners & drivers, and as such drivers and partners can make a living. |
AnotherZik:Ask for photocopies of the vehicle documents, take them to VIO/FRSC for verification. This will reveal if it's been registered & in whose name. You can also check with the police & obtain a report as a precautionary measure. It is imerative you do this before paying for it. |
bravolad:Available for a lucky person. |
bravolad:Up for grabs |

Dejiih001:You seem to be confused on what you want. Buying a car is not something you decide in one day. You need to sit down and decide what kind of vehicle you need rather than jump at any vehicle thrown at you. On a realistic note, 4 million Naira can not buy any of these vehicles you mentioned except you are buying a lemon or salvage or better still, a very high mileage one. Decide what vehicle you like, narrow it to 2 cars, then people would help you with an objective critic of such vehicle including pricing & maintenance. |
babamoha:Although 40 litres of fuel is big enough to take you that distance and back but considering the size of the pathfinder, your speed, driving pattern, fuel quality as imported into the country, road imperfections necessitating frequent braking and acceleration, traffic etc. should considerably impact your mpg. A scan will most likely help to pinpoint any irregularities along your fuel lines. Also, bad plugs and clogged airfilter can affect mpg. Most times when people complain about poor mpg in Nigeria, I feel they don't understand the factors that affect the numbers our counterparts in Europe, America and Asian countries get. They drive mostly on cruise control covering hundreds of miles without the need for the cars' brakes. Their roads are good with premium quality fuel to complement. When a manufacturer sets mpg at 22/30 and 25 combined, you can't achieve this in Nigeria even with Octane Boosters because of other factors. So @OP, scan your vehicle to identify any possible DTC and fix then compare mpg afterwards. |
Glo is the worst network I have ever used in the last 8 months. I'm thinking of porting my go line to Etisalat but I'm concerned about Etisalat's network coverage in Nigeria. |
bravolad:Neater than most Toks |
bravolad:Available |

Still up for grabs. |
OkwaIfugo:Go to a locksmith to get this sorted. |

FRSC is a retard agency. There's no creativity in their leadership, always adopting old-fashioned approach to solving modern challenges. Comparing this to the installation of speed limit commercial vehicles one wonders how it would be implemented in a country with no reliable statistics. I trust all these policies are meant to empower some groups of individuals who came up with the ideas. As soon as they make profit, the project will be abandoned. |
kehindetawede:Call Gazzuzz & schedule an appointment with him, he will meet you to physically inspect the car, analyse and give you an estimate. Negotiate with him, he will do a good job in fixing your car. Remember to give me a free ride when he's done. Cheers. |
sweetval:The Rochas administration lacks direction, he embarks on so many projects but completes none. It's the worst administration Imo State will ever have. I have never seen things worse like this. The roads he constructed are poorly done. Even the one leading to his home in Ogboko is a shabby piece of road construction. I wonder why Imo has not been lucky with good governors |
kehindetawede:Fair enough. You will need a competent mechanic to fix it, cost will also be high. You may need 2 to 3 competent mechanics to assess the car & give you repair quotes. You can then approach one of them for fixing. Your location would have helped us to recommending mechanics to you. Good luck. |
This car is still available. |
kehindetawede:OP has absconded from this forum. Pls come back & respond to these questions to clear our curiosity. |
lawyer77:It's always better to see what your want to buy before negotiations. |
Lexusgs:Fingers crossed. |
Lexusgs:I honestly doubt this vehicle is less than the displayed mileage. He may have bought the Nigerian low mileage as usually advertised. @OP, your best option is to get competent mechanic to run a comprehensive scan. If you have no idea where to do that, state your location here & you will be properly guided as to where to carry out this service. It might also be in your best interest to stop driving the car. |
not needed |
stjsd:I'm not in anyway hurt bruh. Just warning you to be sure of what you are buying when you decide to buy the cheap ones on offer. Thanks for your comment. |
agent01:Thanks for your offer but not for this one. |
stjsd:I haven't stuck a gun to your neck. People like you end up buying accident cars. |
