In 1989, brand new Peugeot 504 was #80k. It was assembled in Nigeria. Volkswagen was assembled in Lagos. Leyland trucks in Ibadan.

Now all the Completely Knocked Down parts for these cars were imported. We weren't making anything. Then Babangida devalued the naira and those industries we had started dying off. Remember Bata shoes nao. Remember the textile industry. They all died with reduced purchasing power of the populace. People switched to tokunbo and we stopped manufacturing things we needed except for little things like sweets and biscuits and a few cosmetics.

We couldn't make components for tv and radio. The mobile phone industry came we couldn't manufacture anything that went into mobile phones. We import virtually everything.

Look at Taiwan. I bought my daughter a tennis racket days ago. I sent money and the racket was sent to me. It's a kennex. I googled it and it is a taiwanese product. Now that company was started in the backyard of the founder's father's house. It rose to become the world's largest racket maker cornering a quarter of the world market. It looks like a small thing but do you know how many people it would have employed way back then?

We don't have policies to enhance manufacturing. That's why we are here. Look at agriculture too. When you talk about food prices, some people say "go and start farming, lazy man". You feel like cursing such people. We have enough farmers in Nigeria already but the necessary industrial inputs and governmental policies are not available. The state governors are the most useless.

Look at education. So you see, that's how we got here. We are not deliberate about development. It's more about politics politics politics. And supporting useless politicians who don't care whether you lived or died. All in the name of tribalism and religion. Wo, let me stop

Lastly ibom air did not evacuate the unruly passenger, it was aviation security that were called to remove her, and a person can be forcibly removed from an aircraft if u refuse to be arrested or comply, let her try that on a British airways flight in the UK and see whether they will drag her or not

Many people are acting crazy at the Airport, even in the US. I travel very frequently through the Atlanta airport, which is the busiest airport in the world. I have seen fights, I have seen drunk passengers, and I even saw a customer trying to destroy the Ailine counter. Most simply get banned. Unless it involves physical assault, like this lady. The lady assaulted the flight crew. That's a big difference, but you tribal and religious bigots from the side are always quick to see faults in others while looking away at yours.
Allen Oyenma is a perfect example; if he were Otedola or Dangote, you would be one of the people crying and wailing about it on a daily basis.

There is serious hunger in the land and President Tinubu seems not to be concern about it.

Food is now luxury as the price keeps going up. To make just small vegetable soup that won't even last you in a sitting will cost averagely 2K without meat/fish.

10KG of Semo is close to 20K now and 4 litre of oil is around 10K, an egg is now 250-300 naira now.

Tinubu should consider us Almajiri.
