yemmit90: Below is aviation act 2022, I have the 95 pages with me, and these are few sections that talk about K1 offense. No section is talking about imprisonment withiout an option of fine. The section you deliberately quoted was talking about Endangering Aircraft operation, which is specifically channelled towards the pilots in charge of operation( go and read the section to the end). K1 offense can be specifically group with " Assault, intimidation, or interference with crews".
I will say it again, 6 month no fly place on someone like K1 who travel alot is more severe and painful than to ask him to pay fine. Judging from this Aviation act, if you are a smart fellow, you should know that taking him to court where he will have an option to pay fine is a pure waste of time for prosecutors. The 6 month no fly is more appropriate and painful for such offense than asking him to pay fine( since is not a known terrorist or committing felony). Besides, the man has apologise for the wrong doing, I wonder why you people are hell bent on calling for his head.
The Civil Aviation Act of 2022, specifically Sections 75, 81, and 83, outlines penalties for various passenger offenses in Nigeria. These include unauthorized entry into aerodromes, endangering aircraft operations, and acts of intimidation or interference with crew members. The Act also addresses compensation for flight delays and cancellations under the Consumer Protection Regulations. Here's a breakdown of specific offenses and their corresponding penalties:
Unauthorized Entry into Aerodromes: Section 75 of the Civil Aviation Act 2022 prescribes a fine of at least 500,000 Naira, imprisonment for at least six months, or both for entering an aerodrome without permission.
Endangering Aircraft Operations: Section 81 stipulates that operating an aircraft in a dangerous manner can result in a fine of at least two million Naira or imprisonment for two years, or both.
Hijacking:
Section 83 outlines severe penalties for hijacking, including a fine of at least 25 million Naira or life imprisonment.
Assault, Intimidation, or Interference with Crew: Section 85 addresses passenger misconduct towards crew members, such as refusing to comply with instructions (like turning off electronic devices) and imposes a fine of 200,000 Naira or a two-month prison sentence.
Compensation for Flight Delays and Cancellations: The Consumer Protection Regulations (Part 19 of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations 2023) address passenger rights related to flight disruptions. Airlines are required to provide refreshments and communication options for delays, and offer compensation for cancellations, including cash reimbursements for full ticket costs.
I attach the link and pdf file for you now, go and read the section you quoted here with proper understanding.
You are still trying to downplay what he did, it wasn't just about the crew members, he stood in front of the plane to stop it from taking off, assaulted the pilot and crew members by pouring the content of his drink on them and here you are trying to downplay what he did, let me help you better...
The way you guys twist things to defend your tribe, downplay nonsense, tribalism has so finished you guys, reason I don't want this country to be one because you people breed injustice, read from beginning to the end....
yemmit90: Lolz, for you to be comparing K1 offense to this man in the video, it mean you know absolute nothing about the law. The man in the video committed felony by using inciting false statement that could cause civil unrest if left unchecked. No government will fold her arms and allow an individual to be making a false claim amidst political tension in the state, it is not done anywhere in the world.
Go and read aviation law/acts pertaining K1 offense, if you cant have access to one, at least you can use Google. K1 has been giving appropriate punishment according to aviation act or law, it is you guys that are just too emotional and ignorance about law.
Contrary to your assumption, I am apolitical, I belong/support no one, ethnicity or group, I only approach issues objectively in accordance with reality on ground.
That you are apolitical does not stop you from being a tribalist which you have proven to be, you are saying what K1 was not a big issue, well here you have it, you are saying we are being emotional just because we are calling out the wrong balancing of justice, I'm neither in support or against k1 being jailed, I'm only calling out the hypocrisy of people like you who are down playing what he did just because he is Yoruba.
You are saying the Igbo man's own is justified because you claim it had to do with politics but look at K1 also misbehaving and risking people's lives also because of political influence, but you will not see it that way, I didn't support what the Igbo man did and good the law took its course but you don't want the law to take its course on K1 because he is your person
read the what the law says below on K1's action and see that you are the ignorant one here.
yemmit90: What punishment do you think the court could've giving him better than this?
How would you establish that the content in his bottle is actually an Alcohol?
What if he is ignorantly protesting his right too at the moment?
Was it his fault that the security personels at the place could not do their job by forcefully remove him?
Finally, how did you know the air staffs and pilots are telling the truth?
I'm sure if they bundled him forcefully, it is still people like you who will call for the prosecution of all those who did it to him like you are still defending him here even after they gave him respect by not rough handling him, what else did you expect them to do?
Look at the Obidient man that tried something even lesser was rough handled, bundled out, arrested, prosecuted and jailed and all of you supporting KWAM1 now all cheered on, now you guys are busy trying to twist the whole thing...
Your fight for KWAM 1 has nothing to do with whether he is right or wrong but the fact that he is your tribesman and supports Tinubu that you also support.
And someone like you will want someone like me to believe you want a country that works, if they prosecuted the man in the video, what stops them from prosecuting KWAM1?
helinues: Stop the back and forth arguments, it's on record that I condemned Kwam1 when the incident first happened.
If you condemned him then why are trying to normalize his behaviour by saying nothing should be done to stop such behavior, don't you see you just depicted what you said about holding a political position, isn't it clear someone like you most likely won't be faithful in office
You are here saying that you condemned him and yet still advocating for nothing to be done to stop such, governance is not by mouth but action, that's why I told you that anyone who is not faithful in office now was not faithful when he was not in office, you are proving me right.
Yes people can change but on very rare occasions, like I do say if you see a wicked old man, most likely he didn't grow to become wicked, he has always been wicked, old age didn't make him wicked, same with governance...
helinues: Those who fly an airplane with mouth can never crash. First be in political position first before we can take you seriously
You are here defending an irresponsible act and giving reasons why we should not do anything about stopping impunity and lawlessness and you want me to take you seriously?
Secondly I don't need to be in a political position before i choose to do the the right thing... he who is faithful in little will be faithful in much, any person you see misbehaving in governance now was not faithful when he was not in governance...
helinues: It's a gradual process. The tertiary staff members have been offered loans, the NYSC have been offered loans, the students are getting NELFUND.
All those listed above, no past presidents ever did that.
So make una chillax
Listen to yourself, loans when their salaries are not enough, how do you want them to repay the loans?
would the loans make them richer or just add more burden to them?
So are you trying to tell us that loans are now the same with 150 million naira free money that were given to the players and the crew?
The way you guys reason is just a clear example of why Nigeria is where it is today, because your type are the type in power now.
2. Why did the publication write the whole of south east when his claims where only about Imo and Anambra, is there a hidden agenda in the write up to demonize the entire south east?
3. So One person without face mask did a threatening video on Tik-Tok and up till now the supposed governments in power(both state and federal) APC government did not go after him, are they in support of the threat or are they behind the threat because if Nnamdi Kanu is in prison today because of the same threat why are they not even trying to investigate this one? Is there something they are not telling us?
4. Why does the entire write up look like a blame game on ESN and Biafra agitation? Is there any state in Nigeria presently that is not facing insecurity especially the north and middle belt? Why didn't they attribute them to any agitation also?
5. Aren't they supposed to be calling out the government to rise up to their duties instead of throwing blames or is the government and writer in support of the insecurity going on?
This is the reason why I keep calling out the Nigerian media, only a few still keep the ethics of good journalism, When governments like Tinubu's own in power now control most media houses, you see propaganda in full scale.
Cromagnon: They have immunity Utomi does not Wisdom is important if your not ready to go all the way to challenge the state Ask Sunday Igboho sowore and that lawyer guy wey resemble crazeman
So you supportTinubu as president to disobey court orders because he has immunity?
Is that the reason you supported him to become president?
zero8zero: You should have asked your fellow ipob who now packaging Obi as una messiah.. if D.O was saying what he said when Tinubu was Governor and was cussing him out like ipob did to Obi as Governor, maybe I would have found it difficult to understand.
Are you trying to say that it is only when a person is in power he should be criticized ?
if so why are you criticizing Peter Obi who is not in office now ?
And if so again, Tinubu is currently in office and he is a failure, so you should stop disturbing Peter Obi as you have refused to disturb Tinubu's governance as a failure in Lagos.
Let's talk about Tinubu who is currently in office since you only accept criticism when a person is in power
zero8zero: See ipob thinking?. So criticizing ACN in 2011 means criticizing Tinubu as Governor?. Was Tinubu Governor under ACN?. Was he even criticizing the performance of Tinubu as Governor as the people of Anambra cussing the life out of Obi for his massive failures and incompetence 🤣
The same Daddy D.O is supporting Tinubu today with his full chest, are you saying he didn't know what he was doing then?
if that is what you claim then how are you sure he knows what he is doing now supporting Tinubu and besides he mentioned Tinubu's name all over the place or are you having a problem with reading and comprehension?
kentokay71: Any thing you like you can believe, when he was behaving as if he is the owner of nigeria, you did not see him then and warn him, now you are crying, he got what he asked for, is he the only activist in the country?, and even all the gragra is just to gain popularity ,see where he land himself now
So he should be brutalized and killed because he challenged Tinubu's failure?
HeyMeNot: The best solution is not just state police but letting the Chairman of each local government be accountable. You can't be a chairman of a local government and not know where criminals are coming from.
Also governors are the highest state security officers in each state, they should step up.
Their leader Tinubu is teavhing them irresponsibility, some are only following his footsteps...
