EnlightenedSoul:At first maybe. But when we get over the creepiness, talk we must talk!!! |
EnlightenedSoul:I wish I have a couch that could talk. ![]() |
bjdon:But you see bros, it is not that easy in politics. You can't damn the consequence. He doesn't need to acquire more enemies than he already has...otherwise, he will spend half of his administration fighting against enemies. He needs to be extremely diplomatic in tackling them. |
Of course, this is expected. I don't expect those tribalistic, corrupt rich basterds to take this lying down. I expect them to fight with all they've got against Buhari. In fact, the harder they fight, the more they will test this government's mettle against the old ways of running this country and the result of the fight/war will make up Nigerians mind about their new government. Let's wait till Buhari's list comes out and then we can determine who is victorious. |
sinizia:This is really hilarious dude and I will end my banter with you at this point. You obviously have something against Buhari which means you won't even see the truth if it turned to a wrecking ball and hit you smack on the head. If you read the Buhari's comment you quoted above, his dissatisfaction comes from the fact that Chad and Cameroon are having more success fighting Boko Haram than us and not because GEJ reached out to them. He raised his voice when GEJ begged America and the rest to leave their country and come and fight Boko Haram in West Africa. Is it not disgraceful? We are quick to boast to other African countries about our soldier's exploit in Liberia, and in fact ECOMONG... Yet, we can't effectively combat Boko Haram. |
What we need is a strong anti corruption platform in each state. Buhari can't possibly be running around every state fighting corruption. Our anti corruption agencies have to be spread around; at least one in each geopolitical zones. Otherwise, the concentration will remain in Abuja while the other 36 states loot to their hearts content. |
bunmititi:Yeah. Unintelligent people hide behind insults. Bye. Nothing personal, I just don't waste time with people like you. |
sinizia:Naturally, I don't respond to people like you that laced their posts with insults but I'm inclined to correct your lie. Presidential flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari is appalled that neighbouring Chad and Cameroun are turning out to be more successful at the battle front against Boko Haram than Nigeria. That is Buhari's stand on the link you provided. Except you can't comprehend simple English or you are simply being mischievous. How did "Chad and Niger are fighting Boko Haram more than Nigeria" become "Buhari is against Jonathan's seeking external cooperation"? |
woodcook:It's okay to be mischievous and antagonistic, but not when it involves people's lives. Any action to end the Boko Haram menace is highly welcomed. It's not a joking matter. It's not a matter to play politricks with! |
barcanista:You are not as smart as I thought. Buhari never criticized GEJ's cooperation. He only criticized him for seeking foreign aids in combating Boko Haram. Chad and Niger are active participants in the war against Boko Haram and their involvement even in the latter days of GEJ showed significant improvement. |
CSTR2:Then the people that gave GEJ's daughter over 100 cars must have shined her congo very well. It is a possibility that it could be a gift. It could be a possibility that she bought it with her money. Now, none of us can say anything affirmative about our conjectures. |
CSTR2:Since May and now, how many political jobbers do you think would have suddenly become the Buharis friend? How many hours did it take Dangote to visit Buhari? Or Otedola? Do you understand how politics operates? When GEJ's daughter wedded, how many gifts did they receive? |
Eziachi:My thoughts exactly. There are certainly many angles to this story; 1. It could be a gift 2. It could be a fake 3. It could be a costume for the photoshoot. (Anyone in showbiz would understand this better) 4. And also, it could be that truly, Aisha bought it with her money. Now, I wasn't expecting anything less from the obviously not so smart opposition. I knew they are going to tear Buhari apart because Option 4 appeals to them and they will clench tightly to it. It's a case of throwing stone at bird that had the intent of flying already. But since they are more barks than bite, the news will filter off in a couple of days and another silly news will replace it. The circle will keep going on. I was expecting a more diligent opposition. A more intelligent and investigative opposition that will keep Buhari in check. Sadly, we are not going to get that. |
toprealman:I tire o. The article is somehow childish and not articulated. It is uninspiring and drab. I got bored halfway. I've read better comments and posts on Nairaland. |
chronique:Um, first of all, I'm NOT part of the production whatsoever. But the information you seek is in the after credit of the film and I simply supplied it. Second and last, Magic Lantern is a software, a sort of homebrew or mod or patch (depends on how you see it) installed on your DSLR that opens the door to more cool functions Canon hid from you with the original firmware. So, I don't see how it can have anything to do with the greenish defects in the color correction you saw in the short (which I didn't see). Cnario, over to you. |
chronique:Canon 5D Mk 2 with Magic Lantern installed. |
davodyguy:I felt disappointed at first until I gave it further thoughts. The role of special adviser (Femi Adesina) is more tactical. He advises the President on what to do, what to say and how to tackle issues relating to the public. Say for example, Some Alien from Krypton invade Nigeria... Special Adviser will discuss with the President on how to relay the event to the public. Should they keep mute about it? Should they release a press statement? Should they blame the invasion on PDP or America or Ghana? Should they claim that the invasion is a test of some military hardware the government just acquired. How will they come to the conclusion of what to say or do? The special adviser will put the mood of the country, the tolerance level at that time and the public's dispensation of the administration into perspective and advises the president as appropriate. Senior Special Assistant will act as any assistant. You know what assistants do na? They take note, prepare speeches, throw press conference, release press statements etc. It's more like an advanced secretary job. Lemme use the Krytonite Invasion as scenario. So the Alien looking thing landed in Asokoro, Abuja. The social media is set on fire. Rumours are spreading like fire. Some are panicky. Some pastors are saying it is the end of the world. PDP are throwing tantrums that Buhari is unconcerned. The special adviser might tell Buhari to keep mute and let people talk some more? But why? Buhari screamed? Remember the missing 20 billion naira people are accusing you of stealing yesterday? See, no one is talking about it again. Everyone is now focused on this Alien Invasion. Also, remember that tax hike you want to pass? This might be the best time. The attention is now on this Alien thingy. After three days or so of that Alien invasion, the Special Adviser will tell Buhari to leak to the press that the Alien Invasion is actually testing new equipment. But that can't come from Aso rock officially. So, the Senior Special Assistant will leak the story to Punch claiming anonymous source. After a week, the senior special assistant will call a press conference where Buhari, from advise from the Special adviser, will deny any military involvement and claimed the Alien Invasion is actually Ghana's fault and investigations are underway. You see the difference now? |
folabayo1:God lifted Osibanjo from nowhere? I guess being a professor of Law doesn't count for much. Been the Commissioner of Justice in a cosmopolitan state like Lagos state is the same thing like coming from "nowhere". Listen young lady, Professor Osibanjo has been working his a.ss off to get to where he is today. He just didn't know it. No one would have considered him if he had spent half of his life ranting on nairaland and used the other half to smoke weed at a corner. |
BUTCHCASSIDY...and the Sundance Kid |
Patience didn't want Jonathan to enter politics. Jonathan was never interested in politics. From this news and the ones before, something is very clear; GEJ never had the intention of ruling this country. Ladies and gentlemen, I think I've just cracked the reason for his lackluster and abysmal regime. In history, most of the leaders that performed never got to the position by mistake. They've planned it all their lives. They've aspired to be a leader since they were young. That way, they've trained themselves and picked up leadership skills that will aid them in governing their subjects. GEJ was never such leader. He was simply an opportunist. This is evidenced in some of his actions and utterances and his stead in handling some sensitive situations. Now, there is nothing wrong in being an opportunist, but when the lives of thousand of people get wasted because of your inefficiency, it becomes a crime. He could have compensated for his lack of leadership skills by surrounding himself with competent people, but no, he preferred sycophants that will sing his praises to high heaven shielding him from the plight of the people. He allowed criminals to hijack his governance. He appointed goats to guard against our collective yam. He might have had good intentions for this country, he was just never equipped for the number one position and the state of our economy at the moment has exposed him for what he really is; an incompetent leader. |
Yorubbish:You really like sucking your own dingus, don't you? You reek of pseudo intellectualism, but I'm gonna indulge you. God is separated from religion? Great. So, how do you know the existence of this god? What claim do you have as proof to his existence? |
Yorubbish:Lol. You couldn't help it. You just had to resort to ad hominem. Too bad, I don't roll that way. You don't believe in religion, but you believe in a religious construct -- God? How do you reconcile that? |
--removed-- |
Yorubbish:Please allow me to point out your folly. Are you ready? Allah in the Holy Quran says Arabic is the only accepted language in Heaven. And in the Bible, you can't get to Jehovah except you pass through Jesus. So, can Allah be Jehovah? |
bunmititi:Sorry sweetheart, you will only succeed in torturing yourself. All the shouts and curses of the likes of you will only amount to an ant cry under his shoe. |
This is lovely. I wasn't expecting anything less from Cnario/Sholay2011 Full critique loading... |
Yorubbish:God is a noun for a supreme being. God is a generic name. Each religious sect has its own unique name for their "god". Islam; Allhah, Christianity; Yahweh, Jehovah, Hare Krishna; Krishna ...Etc. Among all these numerous GODS; which one is no one capable of conceiving his nonexistence? |
princenonny:Naija Politricks; You can download or stream it through http://nairaland.com/politics |
Yorubbish:Which of the Gods? Allah? Yahweh? Jehovah? Krishna? |
koruji:What if she has gotten to the final stage of the interview and only she and another person remained and there is nothing to distinguish between them? (I'm reaching I know) There are so many possibilities to consider and since we aren't privy to the details, let's argue on what we know. I do agree societal values matter, but don't confuse societal values with morality. And don't mistake the two for personal values which I believe in this particular case, supersedes the others. What if she is not conflicted sleeping around or at least, sleeping to get a job? What if she is a liberal, or highly sophisticated enough to take "sex" as simply as an "asset" she possesses to be used as she wishes? If s |
And I also predict that President Buhari will appoint human beings as minister. Seriously, this charlatan-ian behaviour of these so called Men of God are getting out of hand. |
I think this goes beyond morality. Or, it is outside the scope of morality. She has a social responsibility to her boyfriend to NOT sleep with other people if their relationship is exclusive. This responsibility, although not binding, separates her from a cheat and a wh.ore. Now, she can inform the said boyfriend about this dilemma and she can go ahead and be pragmatic and exchange her body for a sumptuous job. It is her body, it is her business. |
