Fashion / Re: Black Women: "Why Don’t You Wear Your Hair Natural?” by Briareos(m): 9:16am On Aug 26, 2014 |
The unnatural hair syndrome is not really an inferiority complex issue - more of neo-colonization. We've been sold to sneer at what belongs to us and accept the white ways to be the ultimate way. Pick up any popular Nigerian fashion magazine, hardly will you find support for "natural hair". Most of their articles are primed into turning African women into Caucasian. Check out TV, movies or any media; the subtle message is always there... White ways are the best. Anything African is dirty and unacceptable. What these people don't understand is that people will accept you if you accept yourself. You are created perfect originally even if you don't see it. Example is Lupita Nyong. She graces the cover of Vogue in her natural hair! I recall many white commenting; "This is one beautiful woman" on a picture of her on Vogue's Facebook page. Until Africans realize we are a unique race and not just God's mistake, and start taking pride in what is ours, we'll always be relegated to the back in the affairs of this world. 7 Likes |

dabossman: I'm gonna ask you just one question. Have you read the book? Most people haven't read the book but rely on a third hand account and interpretation of the book. Because if you have read it, you'll know evolution takes Millions of years, if not billion. Its like a child growing, he never notices his growth. 1 Like |

lomprico: i can see hate in most of the posts here. hate on the fact that the doctor said Jesus healed him. the atheist here are reasoning like most brainwashed Christians that cant think for themselves, the reason is because most nigerian christian pastors tell their followers not to go to hospitals or take any medication for any ailment and now that this doctor has given glory to Jesus for healing him tru Zmapp u guys r irritated. you dont need be because Jesus can heal tru any means, he will not come in physical n heal direct he has provided healing tru medicine. if u noticed since this ebola outbreak in nigeria most of the mogs dat have spoken are talking about providing healing water n oil n laying of hand, bla bla bla, none has actually come out n said am providing this amount for the research for cure for this virus, none! they r looking for cheap ways to advertise their churches for more profit. God help those who help themselves, he will not come down n heal ur headache when u have panadol looking at u. he has given everybody brains "use urs" and stop being lazy christians that wait for their pastor to tell them wat or wat not to do. God can use anyone or anything to heal! Is it not convenient that almighty God choses to heal Ebola with zmapp? A drug specifically designed by scientists to cure ebola in particular. Why couldn't He healed the ebola victims through any general drug? Say panadol? Or water? 2 Likes |

duni04: Jesus and christianity are 100% abstract or faith. Its foolhardy to have a logical argument with someome on the existence of something or someone you can't see. You'll be beaten hands down. Athiests can only change after they are made to realise, by force (and if they're lucky) that Jesus really does exist through personal experience. Arguing with them is just time wasting, they'll always win except you want to go Ravi Zacarias on them I'm still trying to decide if this post is pro science or pro religion. |

YoungBrain: Because maybe we dont see any devil worshipers beheading journalist on TV, or trying to force their beliefs on anybody or claiming science is heretic while posting on the internet with their palm-sized smartphone through wireless 801.11n tech to an optical fiber connection to the worldwide internet backbone, bitching about science to hundreds of thousands of similarly-connected people around the world, making use of an electrical grid powered by nuclear fission, solar generators, or turbines. 5 Likes |

davidif: SEUN, You guys (sorry for the generalization) can't just take a small heat, нυн? Your rag heads brother quickly reach for their cut-slithering knifes at the drop of a pin. You know, Nigerian's non religious faces the most challenging problem in this country. Everywhere you turn, somebody is shoving religion down your throat. I can't sleep at night because some churches believe God will hear them better if they use loudspeakers for night vigil. If you complain, you are an anti Christ! 6 Likes |

GodMode: Religion is mental slavery. How else will you explain this madness? She got infected with Ebola in Liberia. Along with many other people. She was flown by America back home where she was given the appropriate treatment. She got healed and yet she is thanking prayers for her health. The Liberians are dying, by the way... Are they not praying enough or your prayers get to heaven faster in an American hospital with zmapp in your mouth? 6 Likes |

pazienza: Online Dictionary: Do we have different types of people in both US and Nigeria? Do we have different types of races in both US and Nigeria? Do we have different types of cultures in both US and Nigeria? Whether it was migration or settlement or amalgamation that caused their diversity is of little importance. Lagos is the best state in Nigeria today because of, and not limited to, her diversity. Yes, there are scruples here and there but its no different from the model in a homogeneous environment like Ekiti. Diversity is a neutral tool. The use of it is what's not neutral. Unlike religion whereby eternal hell is promised to anybody not following your own particular religion. And unlike politics where your opposition is well, your opponent. So, once again, diversity has no significant impact in the issues of Nigeria. Some wiser policy makers would have taken advantages of the diversity. 1 Like |
