Where I come from it's a norm for a guy of a certain age (late teens) to live in the backroom & bring his girlfriend over. I think the parents are aware, they just don't wanna see it. So it's not unusual for a girl to come in late at night when the parents are already asleep & for her to leave at dawn, right before everyone wakes up. A girl who is not your wife is not supposed to be seen or known by your parents, that's the culture or belief. You sneak her in & out before anyone sees her, to show respect for your parents. Most mothers will literally cuss you out as a girl if they find you in their house, hence it's always done discreetly.

Instead of castigating her, be more sympathetic & get her help asap. Well, a lot of Nigerian companies are enriched in the process as well. None of the South African companies are getting any air time in that show. No exposure whatsoever, because South Africa is not the focal point, just the host. We know our place. In fact, the South African brands (foodstuff) featured in the show are usually blurred out, but we ain't complaining. Deloitte is the only South African company I would say is solely benefiting from the show, they're the auditing firm counting the votes (& the dancers to a lesser extent). You didn't expect them to provide their services for free, did you? Otherwise, majority of the business is taken to Nigerian shores eg. Payporte etc.

In summary, it's mutually beneficial.
