What are these un experienced corpers saying? NYSC has help alot of them in many ways,some of them who can not even address crowd could do that today because NYSC has subjected them to face students & teach which enable them today to address people in mass.Some of them furnished their appartment with the savings they made from the state allowance.Some of them don't even know they have tasted power with that uniform given to them.They talk of experience those that didn't serve as corpers which experience did they get in one year? Some people where posted to area where they couldn't have visited if not for NYSC,the day they received their call-up letter they were so happy that NYSC call them to come & serve, today look at them them complaining! If i have the opportunity to serve again,i'll do that whole heartedly.Most of them that run their mouth today even in the next five years can't withstand interview not to talk of getting a job that will earn them =N=19800/month. I served my country for that one year in Benue state & i benefited from it nomatter today im self employed but it worth serving. When they were flying about in their villages sampling their corper's uniform,raising elbow with that uniform ,receiving praises they didn't complain,now that they have tasted it all look them running their mouth as if they can eat their cake & have it back.

ABUJA—THE  House of Representatives Committee on Environment, at the weekend,  gave  the Accountant General of the Federation, Mr. Jonah Otunla and the Director General,  Debt Management Office, Abraham Nwankwo a 30-day deadline  to ensure that N20 billion is paid back into the Ecological Funds Account, EFA.

The said amount  represents the outstanding loans given out to states and local governments from the Ecological Funds since 2010.

The  legislators noted that  the loans were given without full disclosure  and non-approval of the National Assembly.

Chairperson of the committee, Uche Ekwunife accused the Accountant General’s office of “abuse of processes,” wondering if the Ecological Funds Office is “now a lending bank.”

According to the committee, apart from the fact that the loan was given without the authority of the National Assembly, the fund was also misapplied as it was strictly meant for ecological and environmental challenges.

Also, the committee noted that the recipients of the loans ought to pay with interest since they have been holding on to the funds for three years.

The House Committee also insisted that states and local governments should be on first line charge as regards the collection of their share of the ecological funds.

Ekwunife said  the state and local governments should have their ecological funds paid into separate accounts so that the funds would be utilised specifically for environment-related issues and would not have to run to the Federal Government over every little environmental challenges.

The committee observed that  the releases to the National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) should be given their allocations on a monthly basis and not quarterly as is currently the case in order to ensure efficiency of operations.

Benjamin Okeke, a businessman in his late 30s has asked the Ajegunle Ifelodun Customary Court Lagos state, to dissolve his holy matrimony with Mrs. Ijeoma  Okeke for infidelity .

Okeke in his submission to the court said his wife Ijeoma has been having extra-marital affairs since after their wedlock .

He also claimed that another man is currently claiming the paternity of his two children.

He further stated that for two months he did not see his family and every effort to reach them proved abortive. According to him, “Ijeoma’s friend hinted me of her whereabout in Ajah living with another man”

He continued; “on getting to the place, I gave him the photograph of my wife and baby but to my consternation, the man said I was showing him his wife and baby photograph. I left the place in utter confusion.

“The next morning, my wife came in with the baby and when l asked her, she denied everything and maintained that there was nothing between her and any man”.

Okeke however, stated that he had been a responsible father and husband but was disappointed to discover that his wife was  having an extra marital affair with somebody who is now claiming paternity of their two children.

The case adjourned to March 11th 2013.
