Former president Goodluck Jonathan continues to carry out the assignment given to him in Zambia by AU with utmost care.Having met a number of people in Zambia,the face of democracy in Africa as he is popularly called today met with the only female presidential candidate in Zambia,Mrs Edith Nawakwi.
He was impressed that a lady is running for the highest office in Zambia.Below is what he said after meeting Mrs Edith.....

Anja Ringgren Loven gained online fame, months ago, after she rescued, rehabilitated and adopted a small boy abandoned by his family in Akwa Ibom State, for being a wizard. She bought a very big piece of land here in Nigeria last year where she is currently building a new Childrens Center in collaboration with Engineers Without Borders.Below is what she wrote.....

“Land of Hope is the name of our new land which is also written above our main gate. The wall all around our big land has already been build and razor wire all around has been placed on the top of the wall.

We are now in the proces of building 6 of our main buildings: Girls hostel, boys hostel, kitchen both indoor and outdoor, office/library building, security/generator house and volonteers house.Hopefully we will finish in a few months.

It’s rainy season so the rain is giving us some challenges but the workers are really working fast and our engineer is doing a great job! We are also going to build a Parliamentary Hall which will serve as an “Event Center”. We will also build an ICT- Center.

And finally, we will. as most of you also know, build a Medical Health Clinic which we have already named “Hope’s Clinic” – donated by Denmark. “Land of Hope” will be the future land for the vulnerable children in Nigeria. A land of hope for a brighter future.”

Arrest of Abubakar Sidiq Usman

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC today arrested Mr. Abubakar Sidiq Usman, a blogger, for offences bordering on cyber stalking.

The suspect who is an online publisher was picked up at his Kubwa, Abuja home in the early hours of Monday August 8, 2016 by operatives of the EFCC and is currently being questioned over the alleged offence which contravenes sections of the Cyber Crime Act.

The suspect has already been offered administrative bail and would be released to his elected sureties.

"We're glad to open the stories of stories on this page with the Story of Platoon Sergeant, Cheer Agba. Serving in the armed forces of Nigeria, he was posted to the volatile north eastern part of Nigeria to face the boko haram insurgency.

Sergeant Agba served with heroism, and with heart. Leaving behind a wife and four kids, including a 2 week old baby, for over 4 years, he bravely served to recover the territories taken by the insurgents and to return normalcy to the region.

What was more however is that Sergeant Agba dedicated his spare time to educating the children in this volatile zones in an improvised open air classroom, with sand-Crete blocks as chairs and a flattened cardboard nailed to a tree as a blackboard.
In his own words:

“I am thrilled at the pace of their improvement and can bet with the trigger of my weapon, if I am still here and the bullet does not take me, they'll be reading news papers in no distant time."

We are grateful for the service of Officer Agba and it is our pleasure to highlight him as our first icon of nationalism on this page, a proud Tiv man, and a detribalized Nigerian.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has opened the biggest and most advanced hardware lab in the history of Facebook.Disclosing the news,he said....

'Today we opened the biggest and most advanced hardware lab in Facebook's history.

Over the next 10 years, we're building everything from Oculus headsets to solar-powered planes. We've always had labs for each team, but our new lab will be a hub where engineers can work together to make even faster progress towards connecting the world.

The new lab is the size of half a football field and is filled with everything from a 5-axis water jet that can cut through steel and granite to a 9-axis mill-turn lathe. It's even got an electron microscope and a CT scanner that will let engineers examine components for failure analysis. All this gear was so heavy that we had to remove the floor of the building and drill down to the bedrock to put in new foundation.

I'm looking forward to seeing everything we create. There is so much to do and we have some exciting times ahead!

TROOPS ARRESTS HIGH PROFILE BOKO HARAM TERRORIST

On Tuesday 2nd August 2016, at about 8.30am, troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE with assistance of Vigilantes on routine checks, identified and arrested a high profile suspected Boko Haram terrorist, Mohammed Mohammed Zauro at Sabon Gari, Damboa Local Government Area, Borno State.

Preliminary investigation shows that the suspected terrorist kingpin was arrested as he was trying to flee to Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, from Sambisa forest. The troops recovered a Gionee brand of mobile telephone handset and a fake SAIE/JIBWIS identification card to perfect his escape and the sum of N7,900.00k.

Similarly, troops also intercepted another suspected Boko Haram terrorist, Lawal Aboi, along Damboa-Bale road. According to him, he was on his way to voluntarily surrender to the troops in Damboa because he was tired of fighting for no just cause. Both suspects are being further interrogated.

I came across these photos on social media.According to the social media user who shared the photos,the corpse of a woman was found floating in a river in Modakeke,Ile-Ife.Below is what he wrote....

'These are pictures of a woman washed up in a river in Modakeke, Ile-Ife, Osun state. The portion of the head was covered with a rag that suggests that she might have been beheaded by either cultists or ritualists'.

TROOPS AMBUSH BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS IN PULKA

Troops on blocking position in Pulka yesterday Friday 29th July 2016, ambushed and killed 2 fleeing Boko Haram terrorists. It is equally believed one of the terrorists escaped with gun shot wounds.

The troops also recovered 1 AK-47 rifle with registration number S 77411, a General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) with registration number FN 131908, one Motorcycle, 1 Bicycle and 5 Fabrique Nationale (FN) rifle magazines.

Other items recovered from the terrorists include 1 AK-47 rifle magazine loaded with 28 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, 67 rounds of 7.62mm linked (NATO) ammunition and Tecno brand of mobile telephone handset with NEXTTEL SIM card, as well as sacks of foodstuffs.

The troops have continued their routine operations maintaining vigilance to prevent escaping Boko Haram terrorists out of Sambisa forest through that axis.
