The Nigerian Army said it had recovered 55 assorted weapons from suspected criminals in the Niger Delta.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 82 Division, Enugu, Maj.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahitu, told newsmen in Enugu on Saturday that the recoveries were made during a military exercise tagged “Operation Crocodile Smile”.

He also disclosed that 23 militants and criminals were killed by soldiers in their bid to flush out criminals in the area.

He said 38 camps belonging to the militants and 91 illegal refineries, including bunkering sites and underground tunnels used by the suspects, were destroyed in the 10-day exercise.“The precursor operations were followed by `Exercise Crocodile Smile’ proper, which was orchestrated and conducted with sequencing and lines of operation to upgrade the skills, expertise and competence of the troops in land and riverside environments.



“Over 3,000 soldiers were deployed along two axis on land, creeks and the general littoral area of the Niger Delta region, while forward-operating bases were established from where operations were conducted along the creeks and littoral area,’’ he said.

Attahiru, however, regretted that four soldiers died during the exercise, explaining that three lost their lives in a boat mishap while one died during cross fire with the militants.

In addition to Rosemeire, the other victims included her brother, Silvano Nascimento da Silva, who had been “very excited about the plan," the wedding photographer, Nayla Cristina Neves Lousada, who was six months pregnant, and Peterson Pinheiro, the pilot.

This is the haunting image of a mass grave dug for some of the 51 guests who were killed while dancing at a wedding in Gaziantep, Turkey. The killer, who wore an explosive belt, was between12-14 years old. It was Turkey's deadliest bombing of 2016.

12 people were buried the day after the attack, but other funerals had to wait because many of the victims were blown to pieces and DNA was the only way to identify them.

Michael Zagula, 54, had performed the ceremony earlier at his daughter's wedding to a man he is said to have treated like a son.
About half the town of Trapper Creek, Alaska, some 120 miles north of Anchorage, was at the reception. Zagula posed for photographs with the happy couple at the cake cutting before slipping away.

"About 20 minutes later his plane was flying over, and he loved to fly, so he wanted to do something special for the kids," Klondike Hughes, a friend of Zagula's, said. Zagula flew over the party, but as he was returning, he clipped some trees and lost control of the aircraft. Many of the guests either witnessed or heard the crash.


7. The bride who drowned during her wedding photo shoot
In 2012, a woman taking part in a "trash the dress" wedding photo shoot drowned after being pulled underwater by the weight of her wedding gown while snapping pictures in a river near Dorwin Falls in Quebec.

Photographer Louis Pagakis said 30-year-old Maria Pantazopoulos entered the Ouareau River in her wedding dress so she could have her picture taken in the style of wedding photography meant to symbolize that permanence of the marriage. But the dress quickly became saturated, and the weight of it was simply too much for the 100-pound Pantazopoulos, who began to sink to the bottom. The photographer and a witness tried to save her but were unsuccessful. A scuba diver later found Pantzopoulos' body at the bottom of a nearby stagnant pool of water.


8. The women who died after the wedding limo caught fire
In 2013, nine women in a limo, including the bride-to-be, were caught in a tragic fire that started burning just as the car was crossing the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge near San Francisco. Five of the women were burnt alive including Felomina Geronga, Jennifer Balon, 39, of Dublin; Michelle Estrera, 35, of Fresno; Anna Alcantara, 46, of San Lorenzo; and bride Neriza Fojas, 31, of Monterey. They were headed to a party in Foster City to celebrate Fojas' nuptials when the blaze started.

9. A woman was killed and four people were injured by rogue bullets during a wedding celebration
Celebratory gunfire during a wedding ceremony in India went horribly wrong when one guest was killed, and four others were injured. The dramatic incident took place at Savitiri Marriage Hall, in Karnal district, Haryana, northern India, in November 2016.

Wedding guests started firing shots into the air soon after the ceremony to celebrate, which is a tradition. The party, however, soon turned tragic when guest Sunita, 48, was accidentally shot in the chest and died later in hospital. Four other guests were injured, including an 11-year-old girl, and they were all rushed to a nearby hospital in a critical condition.

Well it goes like this; I met this girl some months ago. I instantly had a liking for her reason being that she looked so much like an old friend. We got talking and as time went on, feelings began to set it. I made my intentions clear to her about wanting to date her and she was like "let's see how it goes". At this point I told many thoughts began to cross my mind. Not wanting to be a girlfriend snatcher I let it pass. We continued chatting. After a few convos she asked me: "Hope you're not hurt ?" "About?" (Pretending not to know what she was talking about ): I replied. "About the boyfriend stuff? "
"Nah...why should I?"
"But I have feelings for you and would have really like if we could work out I'm sorry ".

Long story short, she began trying to convince me to give it a try. Telling me how her boyfriend stays outside town and how they only see once in a while. I let her know that I can't share my woman with another man, how I can't be the side guy. She kept insisting telling me to trust her. I still let her know that more than affection I need comitment and how it's impossible to be commited to two people and all the emotional baggage that comes with it (having witness a similar scenario ). She told me to pretend I didn't know about another man in her life. She kept insisting. I then asked: "If you have a boyfriend what that make me?"
"Boyfriend": she replied. We kept going back and forth about the scenario until I told her to forget it as I cannot be a "Backup plan". She claimed I did not care about her feelings.
The following evening her roommate called me asking me what I did to her friend and how she had been crying all evening. I felt bad and asked to meet so we could talk things over. I eventually agreed to date her giving her the following terms :
1. That she figures which of us she's going to continue with and a day will come when she has to decide or it's over.
2. That she never brings him up whenever we're together.
She was very happy and took the offer. Things got off to a great start. Time went on and we increasingly got fon of each other.
The first day we kissed, she told me she was feeling guilty. Trying not to be a drama queen, I reacted cooly. I just reminded her about our agreement of not bringing stuff like that up. She cries any time we have sextet and as time went on I made her feel comfortable about sex.
The relationship went on. We had fights, we reconciled every time like every other normal relationship.
A few days ago when she was supposed to leave town to her family for the Christmas, we had our goodbye sex and all that. We said our 'byes' and 'i miss you(s)' & parted ways. Latter that evening, she called me and was crying over the phone. I told her to calm down and tell me what the matter was. She told me that what she did with me earlier in the day, she did with the other guy. My heart shattred. I was so furious and didn't know what to say. I just ended the call. She kept calling and texting to apologise saying she won't bring him up again and that she needed someone to talk to at that point that's why she called. Ignored her for a while then I replied her; if she wants us to work out, she we have to meet up and talk about our relationship should be ideally. But she seems not to be able to make up her mind. I feel this is a typical case of trying to eat your cake and have it.
