Oahray: Hmmm... Even if wormholes and whiteholes turn out to be more than just unproven speculation, even if they could somehow be reproduced (in like 500 years from now), it would have very limited application on earth. Forget sci-fi movies, the frail human body cannot survive the travel through such high energy 'portals'. Guess who I found in the black hole |

At the risk of coming across as obnoxious, I will like to appeal to a group of people known as toasters, males and females inclusive. Let's get this ball rolling..... You've met someone you're attracted to, exchanged contacts and now you're following up on your pursuit of happiness. Nothing bad here, it's a process that have yielded beautiful unions. However, the wooing could take a wrong turn when either knowingly or unknowingly insensitivity creeps in, mostly in the form of placing calls. Please moderate the number of times you call. Calling 12 times a day with some SMS in between does not in any way come across as being cool! One is in the office with unrealistic deadlines staring at you with big pleading eyes and someone is ringing you inconsistently! What is it you have to say that can't wait till after office hours There's instant messaging if you really need to make contact. Now one is home after a long day and willing to talk. Then the call refused to end, 20 minutes and counting. Meanwhile the essence of the conversation ended 10 minutes ago. It does not help that the current brands of smartphones heat up with slight provocation. So here you are with tired eyes, weary bones beckoning for sleep and a ear acting as a heat conductor to your hot phone listening to an unending chatter. You are not being refreshing Mr/Ms toaster, you are adding to the stress of the day. The one that ticks me off most, that makes steam pour out of the pores of my skin is calling very early in the morning during weekends and public holiday! Let me be blunt here, that sh.it ain't dope!. If it's not an emergency, don't do that! Emergency only entails someone dying or someone has died. Why do you want to talk about around 5am on a Saturday morning? Wtf! It's an aberration, violation of my right as a person who deserves at least 8 hours of sleep on a weekend Please there's nothing romantic about doing this, it's not a grand gesture, it's not loving. It's core insensitivity. The caveat however is that some ladies may like all of the gestures above, please it's your job to identify such and act accordingly. As for me, it crosses the line of being loving to being a disturbance. Give a girl some space to have time for other things (her family, friends, hobbies, sleep ) and also to miss you. Thank you! *end of rant* |

Romance › Re: My Fiancee Forget Things Easily, Should I Go On With The Marriage? by brushstrokes(f): 7:24pm On May 03, 2015 |
olola4: Please I am so confused. I have been in a serious relationship with this my fiancee for the past four years, and although I know she forgets things, but I just see it as a normal thing.
That was until she came to spend a week with me. She forgot almost everything and if I ask her "can't u remember?" she will reply me with "you know I forget things easily".
Please Nairalanders, I need your advice because we will soon be planning our introduction. Should I continue or what can I do? Your concerns are legitimate but before making a major decision, you should encourage her to see a neurologist. If it's something serious like carrying Alzheimer's gene then you can decide on what to do. However, life is a risk, leaving your fiancee isn't a guarantee you won't end up with someone that's having it worse or will have it worse in the future. In the end we are all humans and prone to different shortcomings, be it in health or character flaw. |

nedu2000: I've worn glasses for well over a decade,it started with 3 diopter of short-sightedness(-3)from which it got worse (-6) by 1999,it has remained so ever since. It hasn't been easy and I sure would like to see the world in HD in my lifetime and not this'. 'NTA' standard my eyes offer. My Perils include: 1)SPORTING DRAWBACK: if you think zinedine Zidane,Eden Hazard, leo Messi are the most creative footballers then you've never seen me play, but with my eyesight I had to cool down on my football career.Infact in my University days I rarely get chosen in teams
2)ROMANTIC DRAWBACKS: There were times a got a 'moment' with some hot chics and as I was closing in for a french kiss my glasses sets up a awkward moment instead and my chance is gone! The glasses also give me this "he's cute but he's not man enough since he wears glasses!!" from girls.
3 )DOMESTIC/EVERYDAY CHALLENGES: I can't fall asleep swiftly without looking for a means to drop my glasses somewhere,if I use contacts my sparkling eyes turn red the next day,if it's raining/foggy my glasses becomes completely misty and unlike windshields, spectacles don't come with wipers
4)MISCELLAENOUS: job opportunities-i studied civil engineer but I have fewer opportunities to prove myself as a good site engineer due to stereotypes
* intimidation- I was driving around Orile in Lagos when one lanky dude tried extorting money from me,merely because he felt I was weak/gentle not until I broke his nose did he realise I wasn't weak, had to spend N2500 on his treatment
Nairalanders please is there any sort cure for shortsightedness? I heard of many side-effects in relation to the laser option! Number 2.... |

I don't use to be comfortable with mine, wanted to get a transparent contact. After careful consideration, I decided against it, being shortsighted isn't the worst thing that can happen to someone. I'm currently at peace with my eyes and glasses |

duni04: Wot did I do? I hate hypocrites and people that misyarn. If you live in a glass house don't dare throw stones. See the lousy OP that can't compose sentences calling other people razz! Very irritating! Hate it when razz gals start feeling funky with themselves, and hate people that indulge them. okay then....but at the risk o playing the devil's advocate, she has the right to narrate her experience (assuming it is true) on an online free platform. and since you are opposed to uncouth expressions, one would will expect that you don't indulge in such. Apologies for meddling into your response, i am just curious why it is some common for people to be quite invective at the slightest provocation especially when having a dialogue online. |
