My son scored 260 in JAMB and cleared his SSCE with 6 As but i was surprised when they told me that minimum acceptable age in LASU is 16years. Please what can i do for him not to waste one year and money already spent.

As much as I know, the grades you get in your WASSCE don't matter as long as you pass your 5 main subjects (Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology). There are people who studied Medicine in Uniben that their results were not as good as yours. Some even combined their WASSCE and NECO results.

What is considered for admission is your Jamb and Post-UTME scores. For instance, your UTME scores will be divided by 8 and your post-UTME scores will be divided by 2 (not sure if it's 2 or 4). So you can see that this your SSCE grades don't matter. Don't mind the people telling you that your WAEC result isn't good enough.

Your UTME score is great, just focus on acing your post-UTME and you will get Med & Surg by merit.
