Malam Nasir Elrufai, the pint sized former minister of the FCT and now CPC Chieftain who was a recipient of President Jonathan's sympathy when he lost his daughter last year has turned around to pay the President back in evil coin by mocking his wife's return and spreading lies about the First Lady.


In a note he put on his Facebook page, Elrufai published claims that the First Lady completely ignored thousands of PDP women well wishers who had trooped to the airport to welcome the First Lady. The note claimed that "Mrs. Jonathan was eased into the official vehicle from the plane. She neither waved, acknowledged, nor addressed the hundreds of well-wishers waiting for her".

However, thee First Lady was shown on television waving to well wishers and acknowledging greetings. She also gave an interview to newsmen. So where Elrufai got the false information he did NaijaPundit does not know.

As much Dino Melaye's controversies are now an open secret which his wife and brother in law made disturbing comments abt his reckless behaviour,nobody should crucify Dino for his present ordeal,but I just have one question,why is he still silent on the serious allegations,could it be that Dino knows that he has taken part in extra marital affairs but don't want to take responsibilities or what?as for me,i will never take him serious again cos he has nothing to show..

The controversial pint sized former minister of the Federal Capital Territory and now chieftain of the Buhari led Congress for Progressive Change, Malam Nasir Elrufai, has come out strongly in defence of his partner in protest, Dino Melaye, a former member of the House of Representatives best known for fighting in the House. Elrufai has proclaimed Dino Melaye as innocent of the allegations made against him by popular Yoruba actress, Bisi Ibidapo-Obe, to the effect that Melaye had an affair with her, impregnated her and is now denying paternity of her expected child. This is even as Dino Melaye's wife and brother-in-Law have made comments indicating that they believe the actress' account.



Elrufai jumped into the fray via his twitter profile this morning (see tweets below). He not only declared that his friend Dino is not guilty of the allegations, he also said that Dino Melaye had offended many powerful and wealthy people and said that it is no unexpected that these powerful people had set him up. But it is hard to see how powerful people could have caused the actress to get pregnant and pin it on Dino. But perhaps Elrufai knows something Nigerians do not know.

Sky Blue: Nigerians really need to keep an eyes on the NASS. Comments like - 'we won't be your rubber stamp' are all well and good, AS LONG AS you don't block progress just because you don't want to be seen as being a rubber stamp. This is Nigerians we are talking about after all, egos and pride in that country know no bounds.

LEADERSHIP of NASS always seems to be at loggerheads with the executive FOR POLITICAL POWER, INSTEAD of actually doing the freaking jobs. They made no mention of any such thing as sovereign national conference, but once the presidency mentioned it, they got angry and said why did he say it when it is NASSs job to do something of that sort. The LEADERSHIP of NASS needs to be watched, I don't think Nigerians have spread the blames for the woes of the country enough. We should focus on the executive yes, but what on earth are NASS and the judiciary doing? No one said being a citizen was easy but we need to rise to the challenge because we have a role to play in this democracy. I have very little confidence in the leadership of the national assembly (both houses), they play politics with every darn thing, it is nauseating.

They are suffering from inferiority complex,how many of them are even visiting their various constituencies,yet they collect huge allowances in the name of constituency project ,the NASS is suffering from credibility problems their chances of getting cheap money are block that's why they are bitter....

Before we commend further the verity of the source must be noted,I don't think it is captured in the budget so it is mere speculation.

Seconded. Besides what he claimed they collect are constituency ALLOWANCES. There is a big difference here.

Go and find how much NASS budget for 469 people hundreds of billions,constituency allowances in the National Assembly is as old as the Roman empire since 1999,and I find that unjustiable cos it's an executive function.

The indices of the budget are very encouraging,what remains now is the timely oversight inputs of the National Assembly and implementation we will surely get to the promise soon.

Every Patriotic Nigerian knows that the president did very well in presentation of the 2013 budget not only because of the timing but also cos of the distribution of the budget which is clear on the direction the govt is heading,which in my own opinion and that of other experts is a positive one.This unnecessary energy dissipated on arguing over this well thought out and articulated budget of transformation should be redirected to the NASS to help ensure speedy passage and project monitoring.

The entire NASS were impressed and clapped thunderously to the key performances on critical areas like power and NIPP power stations. Railway rehabilitation involving Itakpe-Warri, Lagos-Kano, Abuja metropolitan railway co. Inland waterways in Onitsha and ports sanitisazation, reconstruction of 11 existing terminals and award for construction of 5 new major airports innLagos, Kano, Port HarvourtAbuja and Enugu. The ongoing construction of Benin-Ore, Kano-Maidugri, Abuja-Lokoja. The president also hinted of the proposed award for rehabilitation of Enugu-PORTHARCOURT expressway

The president gave details of how he is going to consolidate on these achievements with a reduction in recurrent expenditure.

Sincerely this budget is well structured,I just pray that will not suffer unnecessary delays from th NA most times they hold the executive to ramsome and blame them for poor implementation,we just want food on our tables and the basic necessities of life shikenan....
