The only remaining reason why it has nt been officially replied is that the pdp schemers + obj are trying to draft someone into his place so as nt to seem as if they are incompetent. Look out for either muazu or makarfi as d new option |
well indications are dat d guy has yamutued, May his soul rest in peace. you can check it on the following websites 1) www.thetimesofnigeria.com 2)www.elendureports.com 3)www.businessday.com |
shutmouth:the only acceptable fora saddled with the task of convicting someone or an official is a court and as long as a competent court has not convicted him,the man is still innocent until proven otherwise. the rule of law should be respected and and shd not be discriminately applied to serve one party to the detriment of anoda. The fact remains that the the court of appeal has said that atiku remains v.p. till april |
Nope this sounds and smells very much like Ibori of delta state because it is public knowledge that the only state that got that sum is delta and also it is also known that ibori funded yar aduas campaign with great resources with rather very covert backing from the headmaster. also if you go back some years back u will also note that uduagham is actually the second or third(i am nt so sure) s.s.g dat delta state has had. |
the fact remains that the major power broker in lagos politics is tinubu and him who he anoints is surely going to carry the day come election day so even though pedro wld have been a good govnor events and interests will not allow him land in alausa |
I was surprised myselfon the turn of events but after some tot abt it cldnt help but give the headmaster obj some kudos because it was a masterstroke on his part. He fooled the whole lot of those characters and finally anointed the man he felt wld protect his hide when he leaves office which an odili wld definitely nt go through with, odili has shown frm his antecedents that he is nt loyal when d chips r down e.g. see wat he did to rufus george in rivers, marshall harry e.t.c i wish goodluck jonathan "goodluck" ![]() |
Why are u guys surprised? Obj is fixing in people who he believes will protect him after he leaves office. Yar'adua is calculated to be the sort of complacent ,"gentleman" who will not rock the boat for obj when he lives office but the reality of the scenario is that when u give a man power and u step aside it is impossible for u to control him as for the other permutations bandied by some guys abt atiku/duke or duke/marwa or atiku/odili(l ) it is near impossible to realise . like it or not pdp is d factor here and no opposition party has gotten its act together to convince of being serious to give the ruling party a good fight.i thank God that odili has been finally removed entirely frm the scenario because he lacks wat it takes to either be president or even vice for that matter. Jonathan is at best manageable |
babasin:u r deluded to think that nigeria is a failed state and wat brain storm did u have to believe that yar'adua is an slowpoke? we shd be careful of the choice of words we use!!!!! |
They knew dat if Hilda was fielded that Pdp wld certainly lose lagos. |
Donzman:though ur initial logic was disagreeable in my opinion but ur latter point is sound. Why i say so is because u cant control a man in power, it has been tried b4 in so many countries even nigeria but has failed woefully so the logic of yar'adua being objs tool when he gets into office may not be d case eventually. Donzman:you have really nt taken out time to study or read abt this particular yar'adua. What he lacks in flamboyance or being able to use state machinery to bombard the airwaves all in the name of propaganda is what he gains with a clear cut vision of what he wants to achieve and the timeline to ensure that it is achieved. Katsina is a model example of a state that has been prudently run. Projects are commissioned and executed without fanfare unlike the odilis or the sarakis. The state funds are judiciously utilised and it is dere for all to see. He epitomises wat a public servant shd be, cool, calm, humble, an achiever and most of all prudent with public funds, |
@revolution Total bunkum!!!!!!! some of the ppl u have seen ascend the rung as either governors ,senators e.t.c did not have prior political experience so why cant he be qualified. Yar'adua was not even with his own broda in pdm prior to his being governor n now he is being propped up for presido. Okotie is qualified whether u like it or nt to be president. Whether he wins or looses is anoda kettle of fish but if it is on the subject of qualification he stands head over shoulders above most of d candidates. how many of the ppl campaigning hav integrity, history of visible achievements in public service that makes them qualified to be president? is it odili(who efcc is hounding nw) ,is it udenwa(who has under-developed imo) or is it saminu turaki(who has no clear cut agenda n is a political prostitute) dont even mention gana(because he has been part and parcel of the decay now inherent in d polity) who is popularly touted as A.G.I.P( any government in power) |
But it goes to show that the efcc is really working. Rivers state has suffered from under-development for 7 + years and d man in d saddle has managed to surround himself wit cronies such as amechi who even with glaring scenarios of inefficieny as well as maladministration will choose to turn a blind eye due to there own personal ambitions. I dey siddon look cause the show will get much more interesting in the coming days |
Revolution:This is where u totally lost me, i dont agree with u because there is no correlation between this statement n d need for a trully complete leader in all respect. Okoties irrespective of the fact that he changed proffesions is more qualified to do battle for the presidency dan 85% of the guys in the arena. We are at a point in this democracy where leaders chose ppl who will protect them when they are out of office rather than a leader who will deliver on the salient points we need as a nation to grow. That is why incumbent governors chose greenhorns in politics instead of there deputies to run in 2007 that is why ppl like duke who shd be clear favorites 4 pdp ticket r being intimidated out of the race. But do u knw wat? the mistake/miscalculation these cabals make abt handpicking a seeming "COMPLACENT" candidate is dat u can never control the man in power. The example is dere 4 all to see and he is seating right there in aso rock. |
Governor Donald Duke and his counterpart in Rivers state, Governor Peter Odili have bowed out of the presidential race in the Peoples Democratic Party, 24 hours to the national convention of the party. P.M. News learnt that the duo withdrew this afternoon, on the instruction of President Olusegun Obasanjo. Yesterday, another governor, Ahmed Makarfi of Kaduna state also pulled out of the race. The moves by all these contenders for the prized crown are believed to have been dictated by the awareness that the convention may just be a formality, as the party and the leadership appear to have conceded the post to Governor Umar Yar’Adua of Katsina State, the younger brother of General Shehu Yar’Adua, Obasanjo’s deputy in the military dispensation of 1976-1979. Meanwhile, the widow of Shehu Yar’Adua, Hajiya Asabe has called on delegates to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention holding in Abuja tomorrow, to cast their votes for Governor Umar Shehu Yar’Adua. She said Yar’Adua has all the qualities needed to lead the country among all those aspiring to rule the country. According to Hajia Asabe, “Yar’Adua is a man of integrity, transparency and an incorruptible administrator and deserves the PDP presidential ticket for 2007.” P.M News also learnt that any moment from now, two of the nation’s mobile leading telecommunication networks will be relaying messages to delegates to the PDP presidential primaries in particular and the subscribers of the two networks in general on the need to support Yar’Adua in his presidential bid. The message sponsored by the presidency is rallying support for Yar’Adua who is believed to be the anointed candidate of the presidency and possible successor to President Olusegun Obasanjo. A proposal was sent to President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mrs. Oluremi Oyo. The proposal specifically mentioned MTN and Celtel as the two networks that will relay the messages if approved. The message reads “support Mr. Integrity, Support Gov. Musa Yar’Adua for Presidency”. Another reads, “delegates, don’t sell your votes, don’t mortgage the future of Nigeria. Vote a man who would not corruptly deplete the resources of the nation”. The message was allegedly sponsored by Nigerian Youths for Integrity. The proposal specifically said that over 10 million Nigerians would be receiving the message simultaneously and it will go a long way in creating enough awareness about the choice of Yar’adua as president. Though no cost was attached to the one page proposal, P.M.NEWS reliably gathered that the cost will be calculated after the approval by President Obasanjo. Ahead of tomorrow’s convention, Abuja the Federal Capital city and venue of the presidential primaries is aglow with activities as all the hotels are fully booked for delegates who have started arriving. Agents of the aspirants are also decorating the city with posters of assorted shapes and colours even though officials of Abuja Environmental Protection Board have warned that they will deal ruthlessly with anybody caught pasting posters in unauthorised places. Nigerian Police spokesman, Haz Iwendi, has threatened that the police will not spare any trouble maker during the primaries. He said that the police have been trained to be civil to visiting delegates and residents of the city during the primaries. Iwendi, however, appealed to delegates and politicians to conduct themselves with a high sense of responsibility. He also appealed to the aspirants to educate their agents not to carry any weapon of any kind within and outside the venue of the primaries. |
I BELIEVE THAT THE BEST WAY TO START RE-INVENTING/RE-ENGINEERING THE COUNTRY IS TO MAKE THE CENTER AS UNATTRACTIVE AS POSSUIBLE THAT MEANS MAKING PUBLIC SERVICE AS UNATTRACTIVE IN TERMS OF UNAVAILABILITY OF EMBEZZLEABLE MONEY. THIS WILL DISEMPHASIS THE DO AND DIE ATTITUDE OF POLITICIANS THAT ARE KILLING FOR THE SAKE OF GETTING INTO PUBLIC OFFICE AND WILL AID IN BRINGING IN MAINLY PPL WHO HAVE THE WILL,VISION AS WELL AS THE ENERGY TO OFFER PEOPLE CENTRIC SERVICE. I BELIEVE THAT THE EARLIER MENTIONED POINTS BY OTHER PPL IS STILL VALID BUT IF YOU DONT TACKLE CORRUPTION WHICH IS BEGOTTEN BY PPL WHO FEEL THERE IS AN UNENDING SUPPLY OF PUBLIC FUNDS TO STEAL THEN YOU WILL STILL SEE THE FAILURE OF THE EARLIER STATED VALID POINTS, |
go read the news today, the nec at a meeting with obj have drafted obanikoro to be the pdp flag bearer for lagos state |
Well my broda both of us will just keep guessing but may be far frmj d mark. |
streetcyph:Nna na wah, ohh!!! where u hear dis rumour? ![]() |
streetcyph:But that is the trend in most states that the gubernatorial primaries has been conducted. No chief executive will install/support a candidate who he feels will not give him cover. Tinubu doesnt believe that pedro will protect his interest so he has gone for fashola. Its simply the law of survival streetcyph: |
lewa:HHaaaaa, haaaa!!!! , Chineke!!!!!!!! u much, ohhh!! |
Lets watch n see wat orji will do in 2007 in abia ![]() |
Anybody who has studied the lagos politics frm 99 wld knw dat dere is noway pedro can win lagos state under labour party because he is nt tinubus chosen (not even in a.c.) even pdp will have it rough also, though this may sound strange for ppl to swallow but that is the law of power, u install ur allies. The same scheme played itself out in every state controlled by pdp. Did you notice that no state governor chose there deputy to replace them? Tinubu therefore is just flowing with the trend. |
Forget all that yarn, I said it b4 dat d woman was just being pushed into the whole shindig and wld eventually be given anoda post asides d govnorship. OBANIKORO HAS BEEN GIVEN THE GOVERNORSHIP SLOT BY OBJ AND D NEC OF PDP!!!!!!! Though pdps chances in lagos originally is herculean but with a woman candidate it becomes near impossible a project. |
LoverBwoy:u shd take interest abt the engine capacity, why buy a big engined car which will undoubtedly consume more fuel as well as require higher maintenance rather than buy a 4 cylinder engined car of the same make n quality(body as well as accessory wise). |
streetcyph:unfounded rumours!!! obj aint tinking of giving any v.p. slot to the south -east |
@big b1 could it be dat d great big b1,the unapologetic crusader 4 ibb has finally realised that his quest was in vain? eeeyaahhh!!!! wat a shame ,all dat rhetoric n sleepless moments campaigning for a candidate who balked at d first slight sign of resistance, dats nt a sign of a leader, dont u agree big b1? |
