Jacob Zuma can be a gorrilla for all I care he can do what ever as long as his people voted him in freely and fairly.
Load of bull. The guy shd be a thug in a peru jungle rather than a candidate for a country trying to clense itself from a history emeshed in victimization, oppression e.t.c.

the point u guys dont seem to get is the larger picture which is the inevitable downturn of the south african people along with its economy if a zuma takes power. Yes Mbeki did some things that did not favour the blacks but in general he has overseen the steady and gradual growth of the south african economy.

Zuma is not trusted by the church (e.g. tutu as one of them), nor the business men because he has a history dat essentially portrays him as all brass and no brains.

you still don't get it! you only have 1vote in true democracy. not your nigeria democrazy, where people stuff ballot boxes

the people have voted freely and he got majority of these 1-votes. thats their choice.
in as much as i would less like to argue with u abt dis but pls next time read texts carefully b4 being in a hurry to reply. I have no issue with the democratic process in s.a. but i have an issue with the candidate that is running for the a.n.c top seat and thereafter the presidency.

Zuma is a tragedy waiting to happen and if that man is the best the south africans can muster to further lead there economic growth then it really is a tragedy for the whole country.
PoliticsRe: Anc Elections by buchio7(m): 8:01am On Dec 19, 2007
In as much as I laud there democratic tenets but I must really differ on the calibre of candidate that "MAY" replace mbeki. Zuma is a tragedy waiting to happen. I hope he does not win cause he does not hav wat it takes to lead a nation like s.a. with all the stupid stunts he has pulled over time i.e.rape an H.I.V positive family friend, bribe from arms dealer e.t.c.

PoliticsRe: Why Should The Rest Of The World Focus more On The USA 2008 Election? by buchio7(m): 12:20am On Dec 11, 2007
the alienation america suffers now from the rest of the world is due to the "gung-ho" attitude of there texas ranger president as such no one wants that same order to repeat itself with the new president come 2008. America needs a leader who is able to command the respect of not only its citizens but also the rest of the world.

If he had any shred of integrity or honour he would have resigned as far back as june but alas that is asking for too much from the "learned" prof. He has no place overseeing an electoral body in the same way he has no place sermonising about what is good or bad in the polity in any future fora.

Bros try university of aberdeen which is a very good school not only in the u.k. but in europe too. they dont request for you to pay any advance before you are given the unconditional offer but u will hav to pay advance if u intend to take up there campus accomodation.

again that has nothing to do directly with them giving u an unconditional admission letter.

another school u can try is robert gordon university which is also a pretty good school

this thread is rather irrelevant to present issues cos whether ibb is in politics or not it has not affected positively the life of the average nigerian(i dont mean sycophants who kiss ass 4 a living) n as far as i am concerned any person who is a leader that hasnt done that is not worth talking abt.

@akolawole,funkybaby,mrpataki,paribus

please i need ur advise

i applied for a student visa for this sept session but was rejected for the following reasons

they said that i did nt include my employment slips, pay checks while i specifically mentiuoned that the funds for the total package(i.e tuition,accomodatione.t.c) would be funded by my dad and brother, (my reasons for putting that i was employed in the first place was because the application(i.e. vaf1) asked what i had been doing since my last degree(i.e. m.sc g.i.s in 2003) not knowing that my truthfulness will be turned around to be a reason for there refusal of the visa.

again they said that though my brodas acct is well funded that i should hav gotten the consent of his wife also(yes it was a joint acct). then they said that my dads acct is fixed(its a fixed deposit of 3 m) and therefore nt considered as cash at hand.they also said that.

to me all that is bunkum, wetin u think?

i want to know if these are appealable grounds?

again must i get a lawyer in london to handle the appeal? what is d probability of getting a just hearing without a lawyer/sponsor/representative?

@hob_globin
I'll try see the link shortly. I'm actually in a little bit of a dillema booking myflight bc of my mum.

mumsi doesnt want me to fly from abuja because nobody she knows has and i am not going to be an experiment.

mumsi doesnt want me to fly british airways because its a night flight and why travel at night if you can travel during the day

mumsi doesnt want me to fly KLM or any flight that isnt non stop because she doesnht want me stuck up in amsterdam or frankfurt or doha or dubai for longer than necessary without having a transit visa for that country.

mumsi doesnt want me to travel via virgin nigeria because that means i'm entering london via gatwick and she recalls a bad experience she had there once.

so i am left with travelling via virgin atlantic because that s the only flight i can get now flying from lagos, during the day, direct to london heathrow, all because my mum is simply, my mum.
Mothers, you cant help but love them, grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

PoliticsFani-kayode, Obasanjo's Minister In N20 Million Bribe Scandal by buchio7(op): 1:05pm On Jun 29, 2007
Fani-Kayode, Obasanjo's Minister In N20 Million Scandal

Another prominent ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo’s Minister and one time spokesperson, Chief Femi Fanny Kayode is under close radar for his plot to bribe a vocal section of the Nigeria media in order to kill a scandalous movement of $240,000 recently discovered on one Ms. Chioma Ansoh on her way to London.

Ms. Ansoh for a long time has been suspected to be romantically involved with the garrulous son of former Deputy Premier of the defunct Western Region, Chief Fanny Kayode, aka "Fanny Power". Even when it is obvious that Nigeria’s first republic politicians were shamelessly corrupt, their children teeth continue to be set on edge. The amount alleged to have been set aside by Femi Fani- Kayode is conservatively put at a modest N20 Million.

The minister’s rumored mistress was said to have assisted the Obasanjo’s associate in moving huge sums of money totaling about $8 Million in the past during several trips abroad. Obviously, things did not work according to premeditated plans during her last trip. According to the well known e-publication, saharareporters.com, she was busted at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. Even all the “Fanny Powerful” connection could not redeem her.

Saharareporters.com had reported that the ex-minister who had breached protocols by not subjecting his mistress to the routine check and security clearance had followed his lover to the airplane. A dedicated custom officer who noticed the breach protested and when checks were conducted, the large sums popped out of the bag.

The former minister, according to Saharareporters on learning about the development had swiftly returned back to the airport to plead with the customs officials to keep the incident under wrap as he would not want to jeopardize a chance of joining the President Musa Yar’Adua’s cabinet.

Sources informed Pointblanknews.com that Fani-Kayode’s desperations stem from the fact that he had been promised by ex-President Obasanjo that he has been included among those to serve the Yar’Adua’s administration

Already, aides of the former Aviation Minister are said to have started reaching out to some Nigerian Editors pleading that the publication of the $240,000 scandal may ruin the ex-ministers chances of being part of the new administration.

Besides ferrying large sums on behalf of Fani-Kayode, the mistress is said to be the one who send anonymous text messages to the former Minister’s perceived critics during his days of notoriety as Spokesman for President Obasanjo. One of the recipients of the text, Colonel Abubakar Umar had received “God will punish you” on his cell phone when he criticized Fani-Kayode. Fanny Kayode compounded ex-President Obasanjo’s problems concerning the latter’s third term bid for the presidency. Fanny kayoed was always providing nebulous and embarrassing explanations for Obasanjo’s third term quest.

No one knows what clear justification he would have for his present attempt to placate the Nigerian media.

Appointment of children of Nigeria’s former politicians has always been a source of worry to the generality of Nigerians particularly in the case of Fanny Kayode who was rumored to have at one time been hooked on drugs while schooling in England and later upon return to Nigeria. His mental agility is not too clear.

Nigerians raised concern that ex-president Obasanjo and his cohort are trying to create an indelible political dynasty in Nigeria where if the original power player is no alive for recycling, then their ghost could be exhumed in their living offspring no matter how bad the legacies of the forebears.

Soon after, the story went out Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode sent Saharareporters an unsolicited invitation for a “private meeting” with him in Abuja, NIGERIA OFFERING TO FLY OUR EDITORS TO NIGERIA FROM THE US.

Though we offered Femi Fani-Kayode our platform to DO a rejoinder or rebuttal, his people insisted that he wants a “private meeting” with Saharareporters. We need to inform Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode that it is NOT our style to meet in private with subjects of our investigative reports.

We hope that he will soon call a press conference to tell the Nigerian public what transpired on British Airways flight to London with Chioma Ansoh, the same way he hurriedly called a press conference to address an alleged explosive device found on a local flight, (as he later claimed) despite pressures from above not to do so.

If Mallam Umar Yar’adua could investigate the disappearance of N21 million at the Police headquarters and also recalled Nigeria’s military attaché to India over suspicion of money laundering, there is no way Femi Fani-Kayode who once poked his hands in the face of former Vice President Atiku at a Federal Executive Council (FEC) accusing him of corruption should be allowed to get away with money laundering!

culled from sahara reporters

This was the same man that accused atiku abubakar of corruption at an fec meeting
