Most non believers look at things logically, which appears to be what u have done. But a true believing Christian , especially in this age, mixes logic with faith. Like faith and works. My life principle found in scripture is to love your neigbour as you love yourself. Do to others what you expect them to do unto you. It is all about life balance. Like, if a request for a minimum donation is N100, then, so be it. But if you wish to give more, that is optional.

If you offend someone, let us say unintentionally. You reflected on your action and apologise. Won't you expect forgiveness from the receipent of the offence and vice versa?

I've not found that most Christians believers mix logic with faith, and in fact find most definitely don't link faith with works. If they did they wouldn't be praying for their daily bread but would otherwise work for it with all their hearts and souls and minds and beings and moreso with the sweat off their own brow. But I'll set that aside for now.

My life principle is to love others, period. I do not measure my love for others by how much I love myself, because others might require more love from me than I love myself. Nor do I not expect others to love me because I love them, because the fact I love them does not oblige them to love me in return. In fact, I've found people I love can choose to hate me and there's nothing I can do about it but love them even more.

As for doing, no, I do not "Do to others what you expect them to do unto you". I do onto you what is right and proper, period, with no expectation that my doing would be rewarded with equal doing from you. And my forgiveness of those who trespass against me does not guarantee they will forgive my trespasses against them, and nor should I expect they would as if it is some right I have earned or owed.

Hope this makes sense, though you might disagree.

Worst is with okro or ewedu, both of which I love especially when freshly harvested from my farm, or akara or moimoi or any vegetable stew.

Ẹkọ is cold cooked ogi. If you cook ogi long enough and leave it to cool it solidifies into ẹkọ.

Yes it is deliberate, and no, there is nothing sinister about it.

Your boss did not hire you because he likes you, but because you do the job he wants done that puts money in his pocket. He however must not let you know how valuable you are to him, because you knowing your own value might disempower him from exploiting you and he might lose you to someone who values you more, so he ensures you never know your own value by constantly putting you down.

Anyway, I hope the below gives you insight into your bosses thinking so you might understand how uninsinister he is being but is just watching out for his own interest and not yours which you should watch out for for yourself.

It's a complex situation

So, you "have no time to even go out and submit CVs" that you can very easily send by email or when you network, but you have the time to come on Nairaland to moan about your boss?

Please know that your post reads like your cv would, with some thought and editing, and what you are saying, or rather, what I am understanding from what you wrote, is that you don't have the time to put the effort in to work towards your own improvement of your own situation and would rather moan about it instead, because "It's a complex situation" indeed.

I often wonder why a Christian would pray, "forgive us our trespasses as much as we forgive those who trespass against us", and then forgive others only a little. It's like asking for as much food as I give others and then give others a little bit of food that will not fill me.

I'm no Christian, but I forgive myself a lot since I trespass against myself a lot, and I'm obviously not going to forgive others more than I forgive myself, though I actually must, because the measure to measure my trespasses against myself is biased towards forgiving myself, and I must therefore recognise that my trespasses against others might not be a trespass against myself. So I actually must endeavour to forgive others' trespasses against me much more than I forgive my own trespasses against myself.

And on that note, please let me know if you feel I have not forgiven you when you think you trespassed against me so that I can forgive you more so I can forgive myself as much.

Mine was amala. I hated it with extreme passion and would rather starve than let it touch my mouth.

We used to have it delivered when we first arrived in Nigeria in the 70s, and by the time it arrived it was cold and hard with balls in it so I'd rather go without. It wasn't much better when we finally got a cooker and made it incompetently for ourselves. Then I went to live with my uncle in Ibadan in the mid 80s where they made amala with love and I fell in love with it. Now my siblings insist I make amala for us all at every gathering while they cook the accompanying stews.

The elubọ (amala flour) must come from proper egbodo (whole dried yams), which must be pounded to bits in a mortar and grounded and sieved before the final cooking into which one must put some back muscle. A good stew to compliment is not optional.

I still hate ẹkọ as much as I hated it as a child, though my love for ogi is boundless. And on that note I'm gonna go have some, which is rare where I am.

Please know that I strongly disapprove of those who convince girls to cover themselves to that extent and I live in a liberal country where women can literally wear 'big' pant and 'big' bra on the street if they want. The normal sized pant and bra might raise some concern however, and naked would get one arrested.

No, no, and no!

The first thing that will actually happen is Naira will become very weak, like ₦10,000 to the dollar if not ₦100,000 kind of weak, making fuel and everything else cost a lot more than it currently does.

Then investors will find Nigeria uninvestable in since the returns will be pittance in their currency so not worth the effort. And the lack of investment will cause an increase in unemployment because jobs will not be created. And crime will increase because some will choose that option to alleviate their hunger.

Nigerians will then go and beg Tinubu to please come back and be our president because the Nigeria we would have now will be like heaven compared to the hell we would have if someone reverses what he's done.

Oh! And in case anyone thinks my view is from an agbadorian, vote for my Obi please.

I'd take a photo of it where I found it, and take it to the police with a witness. And if they detain me, I'd sue them for ₦100m for false detention.

In my favor is the fact that I am a responsible individual who can call on hundreds of people to testify that that can not be mine and nor could I have ever found a need to use such a thing.

If I were a jobless urchin however, I'd let someone else do the needful instead of me.

That's the most rape-y sounding ish I've ever heard.
And there is a bright line between being aggressive and rape, locker room talk and sexual assault.

Anyone who talked like ben claims he and people around him talk wouldn't have been around me much because I wouldn't have remained around them. And I am definitely no priest neither. So I guess we get to see what sort of person he must be though we had no doubt anyway.
