I really don't have problems with Muslims or atheists, or people of other religions. My biggest problem has always been with the fake and rot in my own religion, Christianity. There are so many actively poisoning Christianity from within, and I always see the need to respond to them.
I have no problem with the Books (Bible and Quran) but the rot in the religious belief and practice of some does irk me much. The Books themselves, I consider gold, but find many just yell "Lord Lord", and don't understand what it is they read.

The poison did not start with the people however, for the devil is very proactive, and started meddling in the works of the Gods after "it was very good".

May your God continue to strengthen you, I say, so you may build a people of power.

You can do whatever you want, but if as at now you don't still know why Nigeria is not working or you believe it is because people are not coming out to vote, then you are very far from reality...

The major problem of Nigeria is more ideological, we are not the same, the onyl way Nigeria may ever move forward is to kill the bad ideologies majorly from certain regions...

You people have refused to learn from Europe...
You mention "learn from Europe", but I think it is you who has not learnt from Europe.

United Kingdom, for instance, is a formation of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and they all have different ideologies, and went through worse than we are, yet Keir Starmer is the democratically elected Prime Minister, and Charles Philip Arthur George is King.

Europe itself, after many ideological wars, united 27 member states under the European Union and have a parliament where representatives are all democratically elected.

I am from the Orolu Kingdom of Ifon Osun, and our neighbour is Ilobu. We are so near each other that there is no clear boundary between us, and we even used to share the same local government until we got our own. For the past 5 years or so, we have been killing each other over land because we are "ideologically different".

One can not be ideologically the same as one's next door neighbour, but sense should teach one to live peacefully despite that, I'd have thought, and as most of Europe you ask that one learn from has learnt. And if one can not learn to live peacefully with one's neighbours then one simply must be ignorant.

P.s. Democracy is the bloodless process of "kill the bad ideologies" from all regions. You vote against the ideologies you want to kill for them to die.

I have this old woman who walks very slowly, like a 5 minute walk takes her an hour, but she does not like being driven to church and would rather walk. She's from Uganda and is one of the angels who can get me out of bed on a Sunday morning. I met her at Bible study about 20 years ago.

You would think I forgot you, but truth is you've never left my head since you posted the above. And I bring it here so it's kept. I'll add a link to your original post when done.

First, do you see the irony of you quoting Yoko Ono instead of presenting what is in your own head?

i ask because, as much as I have read Heidegger every hour for 12, and started it all over again, I actually find him unquotable.

You see, we do not read what others write in order to quote them, but to understand what it is they have to say.

I, for instance read a lot of early philosophers, not so I can quote them, but so I can understand how knowledge has developed.

It's the same way I would study the history of say, law, or mathematics, not so I may quote it, but so I may understand how it developed and learn from what has already been discovered instead of wasting my time with multiple errors trying to invent the wheel from scratch.

If you do not know the views that others have already expressed, you just might be repeating views that have already been expressed, and even been debunked.

And knowing the views that have already been expressed will enable you to stand on the shoulders of giants that preceded you and enable you to see much further than they saw.

For only by knowing the foundation of a thing can one "formulate your own unique views through direct experience of phenomena than rely on others' views".

I would have replied you much earlier, had a little issue with my electricity supply.

So democracy is basically a system of government for the people and by the people, sounds good right?

But in that definition lies the biggest flaw of democracy, why?

Since democracy is about the majority of the people having their way, the question is what kind of majority of what type of people?

This post might be a bit lengthy but it will show you why democracy has been failing in Africa especially Nigeria.

Nigeria made me discover that you can have a large majority making a bad decision in selecting leaders and electing them for the fewer good decisive electorates.
Lengthy indeed, and I can't help feeling you are trying to drown me in verbiage, Brendaniel. I might return to the rest you wrote but I am cutting you off here for now.

It's your "Nigeria made me discover", that did you. You define "democracy is basically a system of government for the people and by the people", and then claim Nigeria, where about 100 million people registered to vote and only 25% voted made you discover.

The only decision a "large majority" made at the last election was to sit on their asses and not vote!

So, did that make you discover that people who refuse to get off their asses and vote are bound to be ruled by fools, and are likely to come here and wail that the democracy that they refused to engage in has left them with a government they don't like?

Gabrielshow26:
Furthermore, if we base our theology on what we think we see 🤔behind the text rather than what the text actually says, we risk creating a 'private interpretation' (2 Peter 1:20).
Unfortunately, to err is human, and what we actually do is base our theology on what we are told.

If that were not the case, we'd be asking why it is written that God created humans in his own image to eat every seed bearing fruit and rule the earth and subdue and multiply and be blessed, and after resting created other humans from mud to work in a tiny garden and not eat what he had given the Image to eat as food.

What is sad is, Imago Dei who do realise that the Image is not Adam, will keep that valuable knowledge to themselves and not share it with the Adams, least the Adams refuse to remain naked slaves, and instead become like their masters, knowing good and evil, and go further to understand how to extend their lives. And so they don't, on the east side of the Garden of Eden a cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth is placed to guard the way to the tree of life.

Then comes a Christ to feed us fruits of knowledge so we may understand that, though getting past the cherubim and its flaming sword may be as hard as a camel entering through the needle's eye, it is not impossible, and he is the Way. But so blinded are we that we crucify him and then lie to ourselves that he died for our sins, when the truth is more like we murdered him and truncated his feeding us fruits of knowledge, and have instead created hell on earth because we lack understanding and just believe what we are told to believe!

Eve used the brain in her head to question if she would die if she ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And you all know the answer to that question! And that brain in your head is called a serpent to scare you so you don't use the brain in your head, because if you use the brain in your head you can not be enslaved in a garden, but would instead rule the whole earth and subdue and multiply and be blessed!

P.s. Of course you want to crucify me after reading the above (I do not mean you in particular, Gabrielshow26, but almost everyone who read this far), because that is what is done to those who lift the veil.

Budaatum. Back to the infinite regress. I argued it was impossible. Just came across a video where someone tries to put it differently and i wondered if it could help make the point clearer.

In this very short clip, listen to the second argument made. He says that if you are asked to start from negative infinity and arrive at zero, you would never make it.

Do you see the point? Do you also see why this is actually the same argument I made?

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/faNoCuMD8JY
I do see your point, Deep, and do not have a problem with your point, since I simply see it as pointing to how you think and reason. What I do find amusing however, is your attempt to create me in your image to think and reason and point like you do, which I do not.

Did you hear him say "there must be a first cause". And then jump to "there was a first cause"? Logic does not work that way, and thinking it does is plain îgnorant, and for the foolish.

The world that promoted first cause ideology did not know about the number zero, and was more ignorant about negative numbers until relatively recently. They started counting from 1, which was their beginning, and went 2, 3, .... x. Humans eventually learnt about zero and were able to go backwards to -1, -2, -3, -x. Both go to infinity, but I wouldn't bother using that to prove anything about gods or first cause or even an infinite regression to you.

What you do not get is, even if there had been a big bang about 14 billion years ago, that moment would not have been the first caused event even though we count it as point 1 or even zero. Because a period must have existed prior to something forming to get big enough to go bang, and there is no reason to claim that forming did not take a further 14 billion years. And instead of just admitting that I have in no way exhausted regressing to 14 billion years ago, not to talk of whatever period might have existed prior to the start of that 14 billion years ago, you demand one insert some imaginary first causer that spontaneously came into existence all by itself, while avoiding the flaw in your own rational that claims everything must have a causer. And note that word please. It means creator. When the truth is more likely that everything must have a cause, as in, a reason for being. It's a distinction I was hoping from you but which you seem not able to distinguish.

You are aware that 14 billion years ago, and the imaginary further 14 billion that I am suggesting might have preceded it is still not infinity, right?

Now the philosophy. Or call it, implication.

Most arguments you have with many, especially in the thread we both engage in much, is a 'regression'. They stop at a particular point and claim "that is", while you dig deeper and know it isn't. Basically, you simply 'regress' further back in the knowledge tree than they do. None of us reaches the infinite first cause of knowledge, though we like to claim we do, just that some dig deeper than some. Pity you can't do the same here.

Sorry, Deep, but no mathematician worth their salt would talk the sort of rubbish in the youtube above to attempt to prove Gods. Just reading the comments shows the sort of people such 'logic' appeals to. It's not my "point", but I can understand if it is yours.

🌿 WHAT IF YOU’VE BEEN TAUGHT TO FEAR TRUTH… INSTEAD OF SEEK IT?
Below is the actual words that teach most people to fear to seek the truth:

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

What most don't understand is humans wrote the book, and use those words to enslave other humans and to make them believe that seeking knowledge is satan worship, when the truth is, you shall not surely die, but your eyes will open when you seek knowledge, and you will become an Image of the Gods who rule and subdue and multiply and are blessed, which is what a proper understanding of the book will empower you to become and do.

Basically, without knowledge you are mud, and will slave naked and ignorant in what you think is Eden, but with knowledge you are an Image of the Gods, and will Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

The choice is of course one's.

I swear they would have called Jesus a woke bleeding heart liberal. There are so many parallels to the character of Jesus that they actively mock and malign today.

“Suicidal” empathy is one.

Caring for others is another one.

Non-judgmental behavior is their biggest one.

Heck it’s even worse because they have the most disgusting and harmful behaviors towards others. Yet, they hold so much judgement for things that are simply different and in no way as harmful as their win behaviors. But I digress.

For sure they would’ve mocked Jesus for being a “loser” who didn’t go on conquests to kill and conquer.

Frankly them fronting as Christians is an insult to everything Jesus Christ clearly stood for during his time on earth.
I am an atheist and I love Jesus Christ for the reasons you mention above. And I hate the fact they murdered him and then convinced themselves he died for their sins when he would have educated them to sin no more if they'd just let him live.

Some say he is fictional, but so is a lot of Shakespeare and Aesop, and that does not devalue the lessons one learns from stories about him.

The sad thing is that it is when life happens to them as it can to all humans and they need that back up humane system and it is not there - that is when they finally get the simple logic that the system should have back up systems of support for the vulnerable built into various areas of need, such as healthcare, pensions, old age, shelter, unemployment assistance etc. Its what the whole society contributes to, not to give away to the careless, but to protect its most vulnerable who could be anyone at anytime.

The summary of all of this is that the USA can indeed take many different steps and options in terms of infusing and injecting funds for social programs into its system without suffering the kind of shocks other economies would. If well managed, consequences can be minimal and achieve the intended results quite easily.
This bit? As in the shock, and "consequences can be minimal bit"? For a while.

Any 'printing' USA does is added to its already ballooning debt. And you can only spend on a credit you don't pay back until you max it out. Then, massive consequential shock usually seen as inflation and higher T-Bill and Bond Rates.

EFFR below is Effective Federal Fund Rate. Bondholders are having none of it!

Yet, "printing more money" is exactly what America does. Read my previous to understand how.

And yes, inflation and higher interest will be the eventual consequence.

A recession is one way to cure rampant inflation if cooling down the economy by raising the Fed Rate does not work. The flip side however is that inflation reduces the cost of debt.

It's why I'm waiting for dump to sack Powell and replace him with his stoogee. I can't wait to see how bondholders react to a reduction in the Fed Rate when inflation is raging.

If you are serious with my question first tell me if you understand the role of the dollar as I asked. If not forget it.

And I only mentioned COVID checks to show you that the USA can and does afford such when it wishes to.
First, 'money printing' is not printing Benjamin on paper. It actually means selling T-Bills and Bonds, which is a promise to pay interest and your money back at term end.

"USA affords" by adding to their debt, which they can borrow because they have not defaulted, yet. They however must pay interest on that debt, and inflation means the interest demanded rises to mitigate against devaluation due to 'money printing '.

Basically, you lend the government money by buying bonds and t-bills. And you'd be smart to lend at inflation plus some, or the $100 dollars you lend will be worth less at term end.

In fact, bondholders are watching very closely. They seem to move very slowly until they run. Bonds at 5% when inflation is 6% means you are giving your money away.

You obviously dont know anything about the dollar as fiat money. And the position of the USA in the world ecosystem of fiat money.
If you did, you will understand that they are the only country who can afford to engage in abundant quantitative easing and cash printing without the necessary inflationary effect.

And this is completely surplus to the fact that they can afford it even without that.
The bold is not true.

The more they print, the more their currency loses value, and the more those they borrow from demand higher interest.

USA is currently replacing sub 1% T-bills repayable in less than a year, for post 4% bonds repayable in 5-30 years, because lenders are demanding more to mitigate inflation.
