FoodRe: Garri - The Secret to the Most Underated But Pocket Friendly Food by budaatum: 6:32pm On Feb 13
Gari soaking was never on my list of foods, as ma would rather we go cut ewedu we grew and make eba with it. Her logic was, the ewedu is the nutrient while the gari was sawdust.

I did get a passion for it one time though, when Aregbe refused to pay salary and I couldn't eat while others starved. I ended up losing a whole 8kg! But that might be because I only took 2 spoonfuls of gari from the woman who roasted it outside my house despite her wanting to give me a kongo. Had to explain to her that it was my replacement for Schweppes Bitter Lemon, ₦50 at the time, and not for hunger alleviation.

If they said the sky is falling and inflation is at 90%, You will trust those numbers then
Who is "they" that should be trusted where economic data is concerned? Are you not aware one must check numerous sources to dig through the spin, and even then not trust what you given?

But to be sincere, if dump says I got a million in my account because he just paid it in, I'd worry he stole what I had.

You are not the only professional student or scholar here. How do you achieve those needs on top of you lack basic needs like food, shelter, sex and maybe communities?

Be real!
The hierarchies of Maslow actual say you wouldn't be aiming to "achieve those (higher) needs" until you would have acquired "the basic needs like food, shelter, sex and maybe communities". Though it is noted that a hungry person may still be seeking shelter and sex, since the hierarchy satisfaction may overlap.

On the whole you seem naive if you think fake books don't exist, fake books and sites are plenty on the internet.
I would be naive if I mere thought, but having ordered books on Amazon and received the odd fake one and returned it as "not as described" and gotten my money back, I like to say I know.

The data has definitely been brought to dump's side, for now, but we both know I'm only saying that because of my untrust in dump.

I'm so glad however you included the following, because it should make you wonder about next January when the comparison would be with this January.

Math played a role as well – because prices spiked so much in January 2025, this January looked even better by comparison.

Are you sure those are not AI- or fake books, such are plenty on amazon.
Do you know you can just copy the titles and check for yourself if they are fake books or not?

The books themselves are not available at the site and my post is simply to inform of what he wrote, but if it assuages your fears at all, I read the ones I read long before AI and Amazon existed.

I think what you need to do first is to make sure the details on your NIN is the same as your details on the international passport.

£20 was for money order.Paid for 10 years renewal.

Royal Mail C4 special delivery self-addressed envelope for return delivery
The old passport (if applicable)
Payment of the £20 administrative fee, made via postal order payable to the Nigeria High Commission, London (Applicants should write their name and telephone number at the back of the postal order.)
Application forms and payment receipt
All required documents should be sent to: Nigeria High Commission, 9 Northumberland Avenue, London WC2N 5BX.
I don't think I have an NIN. Know how to get one in Blighty?

I have seen people pay thousands and still the person didn't make it. It's not hospital fault
This is not "the person didn't make it", since she didn't die on the operating table, but that the service was not delivered since the recipient didn't last long to receive the service.

I'd sue, because even if I don't get my money back, their defense cost would please me.

I had same experience too in the UK...£20 money order.I got mine within 5 days.I think renewal is far easier than processing for a first timer.
£20 in total?

It's rather unfortunate I can't renew because my old one says I was born in Ifon Osun while my other passport says elsewhere. It was gotten for me in Ibadan for ₦25k in 2006, showing no documents and only passport photos.

It wasn't a problem for years until it was clocked at Murtala last time I left. I was fortunate the clocker had sympathy on my dying state, but it's a risk not to take anymore.

FamilyRe: The Generation Whose Childhood Was Stolen By Technology by budaatum: 3:52am On Feb 13
MockingBird:
I would do all I can within my power to snatch my kids from the technology ruining the childhood of today’s kids.
I do often lament that children today have far too many distractions to reading books or inventing games to play, but I'm glad you recognise the parent's role in this.

I don't have young children anymore, but had my sister's kids f14, m12 and f8, visit for Christmas, and had to limit their technology use. It did mean I had to engage them more, but the pleasure was going to museums with them, reading books playing monopoly and chess and all of us learning to play the penny whistle. Even their mother was amazed at the effort needed to drag them away from their tablets and phones, and has decided to structure their day better so tech use is minimized.

Flip side though is while children of today might not have the depth of knowledge past generations might have, they sure do know about more stuff than my generation did at their age, which for all intent include neighbours through who's windows I could watch telly. They are preparing for a different world to mine, is what I think, but those who invest time in their children so tech doesn't raise them would likely do better in life, though I'd bet that's debatable.
CrimeRe: The $14 Trillion Heist: How Blackrock Secretly Bought The Global Economy by budaatum: 3:34am On Feb 13
GildedTruth:
You’ve hit the nail on the head, and your mention of Adebayo Ogunlesi is precisely why this 'Shadow Government' is so effective—they integrate the best minds from every corner of the globe into their architecture.

When BlackRock acquired GIP (Global Infrastructure Partners) for $12.5 billion, they didn't just buy airports and energy grids; they 'bought' the influence and the seat at the table that Ogunlesi spent decades building. The 'Gilded Truth' is that Ogunlesi is now a Vice Chairman at BlackRock and a member of their Global Executive Committee. He is no longer just a 'Nigerian businessman'; he is a key architect in the machine that manages $10 Trillion.

You suggest asking him what BlackRock is doing to Nigeria? The answer is hidden in plain sight. They are the 'Invisible Creditors.' When Nigeria negotiates debt relief or Eurobond issuances, they aren't just talking to the IMF; they are talking to the asset managers who own that debt.
I geminied and found Blackrock's investment (or should I agree with you and say exploitation in) Nigeria, is about $1b across several African nations, which, since Nigerian debt is approximately $44b, amounts to very little.

I also asked what the extent of Ogunlesi and Blackrock's involvement in Nigeria is, and is it positive or negative for Nigeria. Results below, with the caveat that Gemini can ne mistaken.

Personally, I think all entities (including countries and companies and world banks and even very wealthy Nigerians, have an effect on the Nigerian economy and polity, so I can not single out Blackrock, and nor have I seen anything to make me conclude that Blackrock's involvement in Nigeria is wholly negative.

That said, it is recognised that bond holders (those who buy a nation's debt) generally tend to have a huge influence on a countries policies, which might make them seem like the countries architects. This was made obvious to a certain Liz Truss who thought they didn't, and even president dump of America has to bow to bond holders, so I guess calling them a "shadow government" might not be untrue.

P.s. Ogunlesi was never "just a 'Nigerian businessman". He was a businessman, period, since his investments were never limited to Nigeria. He however plans to invest billions in Nigeria’s energy, aviation, and port sectors, but I'm very certain we'd complain if he dares reap profit from his investments no matter what good it does.

Accept my apology for using gemini. I'm AI obsessed at the moment.

A federal grand jury this week refused to indict six congressional Democrats over a video where they told service members to reject “illegal orders.”

Remember that? This is a big deal, not just politically, but legally.

The outcome fits a broader pattern. Trump’s retribution campaign is hitting a losing streak.

None of this asks Nigerians to suspend judgment. Courts exist to decide legal outcomes, and they should be allowed to do their work.
I am suspending judgement because a jury is currently having evidence I am not privy to presented before them and will pass judgement at the end.

One must wonder however, why such amounts were spent on her behalf (deviously smart of her by the way, for not spending it herself and on her own behalf), and what they got in return.

A more accurate question might be Has Tinubu done anything to improve the Nigerian economy?

What has Tinubu done that is detrimental to Nigeria?

PoliticsRe: How Tinobu Destroyed Nigeria Within 2years Needs To Be Study by budaatum: 10:00pm On Feb 12
Tinubu destroying Nigeria is debatable. You mentioned landlords, but they too must eat na. Besides, we also must charge more due to high building costs and in case tenants default. It's after all not easy to kick them out if they don't pay rent.

I am Obidient, but I strongly support Tinubu's fuel subsidy removal and his free float of Naira, despite their contribution to the increase in living costs. I just wish he'd cancel Youth Service or reform it, as it currently acts as a subsidy on labour to employers.
