armyofone:Sounds absurd, right? I hope you know the connection between maths and music. Your child deserves all the help you can give it to succeed in this ever more harsh world. The Benefits of Playing Music in the Womb |
PrideofLincoln2:But exactly! If a politician invests by giving you ₦1000, it's obvious they'll recoup their investment when in office, so why would anyone allow poverty to make them accept ₦1000 from a politician who's sole purpose is to increase their poverty? Is it not ignorance? These people are not compromised by poverty, Pride. They are compromised by their own ignorance which is what makes them seek instant relief but which just compounds their poverty. It is referred to as the Marshmallow Test, as rightly defined. neyyoh: IMAliyu: |
uglymods:You need to ask those who claim "maths is racist" how maths is racist. Equity in "maths instruction", which is the more appropriate phrase, is giving all students in a class an equal opportunity to learn. That's what Kennedy is saying in the image below. A parent, however, a competent and aware one at least, would rather give their child superior advantage in all subjects they learn in school, as described below, which is why some parents send their children to the best schools and pay for them to get extra lessons. budaatum:P.s. Do know that I do not often respond to new contributors on this thread and have made an exception.

PrideofLincoln2:Any engagement with them that does not consider their ignorance and hence the need to educate them is indeed meaningless. And the reason to educate them is their ignorance ruins Nigeria. But though some of them may prove to be uneducatable, one must recognise that there are thousands like them in the same class reading the same post and who just might be educated by one's engagement. I guess I can't forget my teaching education despite leaving the profession long before some of them were even conceived. Its like you got one stupid ignorant child talking nonsense in class. A smart teacher's responses to such students educates others in the same class. But after a while one must recognise they are just disruptive students, and exclude them from future lessons so those who may will learn. You don't step out of this thread much, Pride. If you did you find there's thousands like them on here suffering and being educated, or not. And as you must know, a buddha must teach that their suffering is of their own doing. |
Tdotbluejays1:And on Sunday too, despite being a Sunday Rules Cult card carrying member! Below is Sunday Rules, in a nutshell. budaatum:To which I now add the rule below, for those minded to join the cult.

PrideofLincoln2:His wife and children are abroad seeking superiority while some are here yelling against those seeking mere equity. See how ridiculously unknowing they can be? PrideofLincoln2:Nigeria's problem is not "looting Thieflicians". We would for instance not blame drumptf if he had gotten a second term, we'd be here blaming maga Americans for sitting on their asses and letting him get enough votes to get the second term, but see as Stacy Abrams did not sit on her ass! She organised and even hired buda to raise up the dead to vote and kick his orange ass to the kerb! Nigeria's problem stems from the likes of those we argue with on here not knowing to elect what's good for them, which is why they'll likely end up with a dollar at ₦1000 by the end of the year as Tdotbluejays1 predicted. Then next election they'll be here yelling Tinubu or Atiku for president as if they don't already know either would be worse than bubu. |
raumdeuter:I so love you. |
PrideofLincoln2:Why won't I be patient with people who think seeking equity in maths is a bad thing or that claim some say maths is racist? Can I not recognise that some people received substandard education and so have not learnt to use their minds? I have this book I read often where it is written that I must 'forgive them because they do not know what they do', and I understand "forgive" as 'have compassion for their ignorance', so that's what I do. It also has written in it that one must say 'peace', and then dust their dust of oneself as one departs from them, and I know how to do that too. You should try it sometime and see how they go pissing in the wind mentioning you in every post to get your attention which is what they crave. Starve them and they eventually wither and die. Hmm, I think that's in my book too actually. |
Tdotbluejays1:You'll find you need to learn to ignore for your own peace of mind since you can't control whom they mention. Go on, lets compete to see who does it better. |
Tdotbluejays1:Go check who of the two of us is still engaging it and see that buda can stand far much less than you can. I'd go after lost my sheep, but not sheep that insists on entering the mouth of the lion. That sheep I'd kill and eat first or the lion can very well have it. |

Tdotbluejays1:We so love beating Germany because we don't, often. England's coming home!

Tdotbluejays1:England are playing Germany and I'm wasting my time with these lot! I must need my head checked!

benalvino2:The book does not imply maths is racist, ben. We have provided you with numerous examples of what is being addressed in the book, if you would just bother to learn. See yourself trying: benalvino2:Are you suggesting you agree that 'STEM is racist' according to the book, I wonder. |
Tdotbluejays1:Like turkeys praying for Christmas, they are, not seeing how the issues relate to our very own Nigeria. But I'm not surprised they fail to see it since its not in the simplistic black and white they are used to. |
benalvino2:The book does not imply any such thing unless to the braindead! Take responsibility for your wrong inference! |
benalvino2:I guess it's impossible for you to understand. I worked in School Exclusions for a local authority years ago, and though the majority of pupils in the borough were white, the majority of exclusions were black students, so the authority decided to investigate and enforce mitigating measures. It is still going on, as you'd find if you just bothered to seek information instead of sprouting that which just screams how ignorant you are of the topic and the issues involved. https://www.theguardian.com/education/2021/mar/24/exclusion-rates-black-caribbean-pupils-england

Tdotbluejays1:Nigeria has its equivalent in ethnicity. Most just don't realise there's an elephant in their rooms. |
basilico:This has already been done as it rightly ought to have been, and is being done in all institutions in most parts of the world. Racial discrimination permeates the healthcare systems of many countries, including the United States. This has negative consequences for both patients and healthcare workers, leading to higher risks of illness and, in some cases, lower standards of care for people of color (POC). Police disproportionately target members of marginalized groups for arrest in many countries. Members of these groups may also face disproportionate prosecutions, unfair trials, and disproportionately severe sentences on criminal charges. Humiliating treatment, beatings, sexual abuse, and shooting deaths of members of marginalized groups often contrast starkly with treatment accorded to others and members of these groups have little recourse to legal remedies to abuse. Our own Nigeria is even also confronting its own equivalent, ethnicity, as you'd find in the pdf below. Ethnic and Nepotic Issues in Nigeria: Exploring the Bane to Public Sector Performance in the Fourth Republic |
For your information, after years of seeking equity for minorities in the British Education System, the solutions to the problems have been so successful that we have created a problem in the education of the white working class pupils, but I would of course not be surprised if you understand it as "white people can not learn Maths". https://committees.parliament.uk/committee/203/education-committee/news/156024/forgotten-white-workingclass-pupils-let-down-by-decades-of-neglect-mps-say/

benalvino2:Ben, what you ask to be proven to you is so fundamentally basic that if you can't see and understand it for yourself no amount of evidence would make you possibly understand and see, so I do not bother. What evidence does one provide for a person who sees "Maths is racist" in Dismantling Racism in Mathematics Instruction, except to accept that you have comprehension issues? Its like asking me to prove to you that 2+2=4, when I would love to sell you something for your 2+2=12. After all, your lack of understanding benefits me since I know that those supported by a party that reasons falsely as you do can only ever lose! Trust me when I say, You Bring Me Joy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZ5SaXj30Kw |
benalvino2:No it doesn't, ben. The title is "Racism in Mathematics Instruction". Please note the "in" and the "instruction", if you mind, and improve your comprehension! |
Tdotbluejays1:Vitamin L for lies, you mean. |
LordReed:He obviously just uses words he does not comprehend and will not bother to try to understand. You can tell by how he distorts what he sees to be what is abundant in his own heart. He promised to be good on Sundays, but woefully didn't this last one to the point that he made me sin and now I have to serve penance all week. |
benalvino2:Ben, if the bold is true, it serves as an example of the systemic racism you've been asking for. It isn't true, of course, but if you understand what I've said, you'd at least now know what systemic racism is. |
LordReed:I bet he doesn't! https://babylonbee.com/about

Dangerousboy:Aleluya, Amen! |
Myer:You are obviously not under any obligation to discuss anything with me, so when you've had enough you know what to do, but while you are here, we are simply looking at this from completely different positions. To start with, who is Malachi to fathom the mind of God? Is he not writing his own opinion just as you and I are doing? God dislikes a lot of things, clearly, and even hates a lot of things that we humans do, like murder, not loving ones neighbour and such like, but that does not mean God hates the murderer or those who don't love their neighbours, is my own opinion, just as we too are not meant to hate murderers or those who do not love their enemies. That of course does not mean we would not be punished for such sins, but to claim God's love is conditional implies one can fulfil conditions to win God's love, which I very much doubt despite the fact that we must still do that which God requires us to do. The world that God loved and sent his only begotten Son to come and save might give you a clue. It was clearly a world that did not fulfil whatever conditions one might think God might have, hence the need for Christ, yet God clearly still loved it so much that God sent Christ to save it, hence fulfilling whatever conditions God might have God's self. We can not fulfil the conditions regardless how much we might try, hence Grace, is what I think, for as Isaiah is written to have said, "we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away". Note, "our righteousnesses" are as filthy rags, how much more an unrighteous sinner like myself, how can I possibly fulfil any conditions God might set in irder to win God's love? Yet here I am, loved by God regardless, unless you'd like to claim otherwise of course. But its ok by me if you understand it different to how I do, for as I said about Malachi, who am I to fathom the mind of the Almighty God. So please have a most blessed and wonderful day. God loves you unconditionally is what I think. |
