salford1:I was the democratic support officer for my birth local authority in one of my many incarnations years ago, so its somewhat a field of mine. I was in the mayor's office with mayoral powers and oversight and used to joke that I singlehandedly supported democracy on my shoulders so borough residents could exercise their democratic powers which included voting. Liberal we are down here. History of not being liberal has taught us to be, and as the land of evolution be just keep becoming more liberal. |
Janosky:Do please note that buda can only give you buda's view. |
haddeylium:If you do your research, you'd know all religions evolved out of paganism, but that's beside the point. Easter has pagan roots for some and not for some others. Christianity (Judaism, in fact, which evolved out of Egypt) has a tradition of cutting off the past and starting afresh as we learn from the emergence of Christ, and not all take their Easter that far back though they should if they want to fully understand its transformative message instead of focusing on eggs and rabbits. |
SenatePresdo:Some Igbos I know from that period felt they were misled into thinking they stood a chance and were bitter when some leaders abandoned them. As we can see, some Igbos are hell bent on revenge by destroying Nigeria in order to create Biafra, while some are determined to help make Nigeria great. Depends on the version of history they know I suppose, but a repeat of then, which is likely, will be more pregnant kids. It depends how it's seen, I guess. |
salford1:Perhaps he can't understand English, or just being like their lying deceiver in chief, hoping we don't know their sort. When there is a bill, I bet it allows me to vote by email or at least on an app online. |
Do you see how you posted the link to the sun and not to Gov.uk? That alone shows how little you know! benalvino2:If the English is your problem look up the meaning in a dictionary please! The UK is not implementing what has not yet become law. There is no bill before parliament yet so there can not yet be a law to implement! And the following is from https://www.gov.uk/how-to-vote ID you need to bring If you live in England, Wales or Scotland you do not need to bring any identification to vote. You do not have to take your poll card with you. You will need to show photo ID to vote in Northern Ireland (your passport, driving licence, Electoral Identity Card or certain kinds of Translink Smartpass). But I am certain you were not talking about NI. www.nairaland.com/attachments/13362553_screenshot20210407030523_jpeg8652addc11e4fa17b2265fe7014d9a4a |
haddeylium:The op's comment is not gospel so I don't see why I should go through it again since I discarded his view as due to limited understanding in my very first post. That is not to say mine is gospel either though, do note. You, though, are focused on the rabbits and the eggs, mere teaching tools from traditions and customs and festivities, and would want me to concentrate on the finger and ignore the moon as you do. Dig deeper here for instance, and see past rabbits and eggs. Then wonder why such ancient traditions survive through the different Gods. As for how, there's an Easter next year. Remind me and we can explore the process together since two minds are much better than one. Ramadan starts Monday so we might try that too to fully dispel ourselves of ignorance in the meantime. |
Konkoja:That's their plan it seems. Exasperate with lies and alternative facts hoping we would be too lazy to check. I guess they think we are them, lol. |
benalvino2:If you don't understand the process of law making in UK just say so so you can be taught, otherwise you are simply passing off lies! UK is not implementing id in 2023 unless a bill is presented to parliament and it passes into law by majority vote, and there's no bill yet. |
haddeylium:Seems you can't bother to read! budaatum:When you can read, kindly explain or at least post a link about the rabbit and eggs that fixate you. I'll be most grateful. |
Larrykaysail:Update please. |
haddeylium:You say "we" should talk about it, so why don't you talk about it first please since it is you who brought up Rabbit and eggs? I am interested to hear you, I promise. |
benalvino2:I am of the view that if one lies in the small things one must suspect them in all things and at least check. Be corrected, is the point. There is no law that says id must be presented to vote in UK now nor in 2023 yet, and there may never be one unless a bill passes parliament. |
haddeylium:No, not really since I never mentioned "rabbit and egg". Can you "explain what Rabbit and egg have to do with Christ resurrection" to me please since you have connected the two? |
MaxInDHouse:One may proselytize by "Letting one's light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven". For it is written "The blind are proselytized to so they receive sight, the lame are proselytized to so they walk, those who have leprosy are proselytized to so they are cleansed, the deaf are proselytized to so they hear, the dead are proselytized to so they are raised, and the good news are proselytized to the poor". |
benalvino2: ![]() You may have lived in UK but you've obviously forgotten how things work there, because as recently as March Boris Johnson’s government is expected to introduce a bill in the spring to make photo ID mandatory from 2023 for all UK-wide and English elections, after which it will need to pass a first and second reading and receive assent in the House of Lords before being presented to be signed into law by the Queen, but not bill yet! |
sonmvayina:Worth two dollars at least. |
The solution is clear demarcation of land, but when bubu demarcated ranches, my people yelled land grab as if na only Fulani fit rear cattle! budaatum: |
Instead of all this, Buhari should just appoint one Mohammed Fulani as VC so we can blame cattle for whatever is going on here. |
Janosky:No. Easter is not really a celebration at all, but a learning process that transforms one. Easter is the culmination of forty days of fasting during which one is meant to reflect on the life of Jesus so Christ resurrects inside one and the Kingdom of God is discovered. |
Dtruthspeaker:It is indeed written. Can you understand what you read with your eyes? 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. 3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth: 4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters: 5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died. |
[quote author=benalvino2 post=100584673]basilico this is what they are reducing us to. They think we are weak, dumb and lazy. , they've reduced you to thinking Democrats win in Georgia because of black votes. Hard for you to imagine white voters turning their back on gQp. |
Lamasta:How can village people possible "reason" those who place their faith in the Lord they are supposedly disturbing their neighbours praying to? Did Christ lie or have they been praying to satan?
|
Lamasta:We can go check the evidence of course. I put it to you that if you are hard at work earning your daily bread during the day you are unlikely to be up at night praying for your daily bread to fall from heaven like manna. And if your hard work does provide your daily bread, your nightly prayer would likely be the very short neighbourly undisturbing "Thank you Lord", then you'll sleep blessed and peacefully. |
benalvino2:You can't see the problem with your narrative, which is like say incumbent Buhari loses the next election and then claims the winner cheated. I bet you'd laugh at him, but just see how you are not laughing at yourself! Are you on kraken, perhaps? Anyway, I am buda, the buda who imported Coronavirus from China so I can have more people to raise from the dead including Chavez to win Biden the last election. If I could raise the dead then, trust I can raise the dead again and again and again and again and you won't see them all voting. |
Lamasta:Anyone who incessantly prays at night can not possibly have worked hard enough during the day or they'd be tired and need to rest at night so they can be fresh for work the next day. So, and in effect, prayers at night might not be suffering from poverty (though they likely are because they are probably jobless or not working hard enough), but they sure will be a suffering from poverty as a likely consequence of praying at night. They should consider attending night school instead, to learn plumbing or accountancy. |
Konkoja:Oh, they know. Or at least, those who control them know and want to manipulate them to rig the next elections but see how it's all blowing up in their face already. Next years gubernatorial elections in Georgia will be the most watched elections ever held in America and I can bet you those gops are going to lose. |
Chike Jeffers and Peter Adamson kick off the new series by explaining the scope and meaning of "African philosophy" History of African Philosophy www.nairaland.com/attachments/10165051_africana_jpeg03ff4cfa674023e5588c48d4663f1884 |
thinking that your neighbor is behind your progressThis is funny but sadly true in this instance. If they are keeping you up at night they sure will be affecting your progress during the day. I love words. One night the Holy Spirit will just grab me like the Angel Gabriel grabbed the Prophet Muhammed and say, "Write!" And by morning I would have penned an anonymous notice on the wall about how demons make noise in the middle of the night and disturb the peace of the Lord God Almighty and that in the Jesus Name they should turn down the volume so satan does not hear and hijack their prayers. It will not stop them immediately but I'm sure to enjoy the Angel Gabriel's visits until they stop disturbing the peace and love their neighbours instead. |
What you need to do girlfriend, is grow up a little and become mature! |
