NigerianDigest1:In my neighborhood they will jẹ iko. Ma will specifically wear out her 3-head koboko on your head and not buy you any clothes or anything at all for like 5 years after telling you they must have swopped her intelligent baby for a monkey at birth! |
I think the lesson is not to mistake Arks of the Lord for God. Afterall, God is written to have said: “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments." It's like people take the Word of God as the God without realising that focusing on arks blinds them to the God the Words describe and teach us about. Mistaking the finger for the moon is how the Chinese described it. Hardly pleasing to a vengeful jealous God. By their fruits, they say, shall we know them. The Lord is with those who produce godly fruit is what I think.

One good use of Nairaland! |
Kobojunkie:One wonders. Was there no ransom demand? |
Which kind African children are this, stupid? |
HellVictorinho:Felt like it I guess, or to keep track of books I ordered. Who knows hell, what contributors would do to me? Why, by the way, do I mix you up with Martian? You think somewhat similar but different so aren't the same person. |
|
Martian:Where have you been? Lol. They dropped Pizza long time ago, or at least it lost it's importance so they moved on albeit to Hunter's emails that turned out to be invisible. They moved on to Sidney Powell's Kraken, though that too went the way of the dodo so they're now on to Pence singlehandedly appointing their maga president trump while the sane amongst us just count days till 20 January 2021. |
LordReed:Me, buda, my Lord? Can you imagine the stampede of the many dead who would love to be first? I see buda sitting back watching to see what the Lord would say to them all. |
LordReed:Rapture like, of minds, Insha Allah. |
sonmvayina:Son, do you know that there is an advancement from "new words" to new ways of thinking, reasoning and seeing? Yes, hell is ignorance. That's why it is written that people die of it. The irony of your above though, considering over half a century of daily reading, amuses me. |
Kobojunkie:Don't mind Son. There's nothing particular to be got. |
I got to say, buda is not reading any of these yet, in case anyone assumes. First, I go blind after an hour or 2 of reading, and I got to get through: A credulous law student believed that “in addition to all his professional reading, Mr. Herndon read every year more new books in history, pedagogy, medicine, theology, and general literature, than all the teachers, doctors, and ministers in Springfield put together.” On his shelves were authors almost unknown in the Mississippi Valley—Kant, Renan, Fichte, Buckle, Froude. Perhaps he did not always understand what he read, but he learned enough to become a kind of frontier evangelist for transcendentalism, that Emersonian faith that the questioning heart could, without mediation of religion or authority, discern truth. He prided himself on his “mud instinct,” his “dog sagacity,” which enabled him to see “to the gizzard” of questions. What he saw encouraged him to believe in illimitable progress, and he greeted the unseen with a cheer: “The Struggles of this age and succeeding ages for God and man—Religion—Humanity and Liberty ... may they triumph and Conquer forever, is my ardent wish and most fervent soul-prayer.” Lincoln, by David Herbert Donald ISBN 0-7126-7330 www.nairaland.com/attachments/12893921_notable02392_jpega44dd4090360193dfe643db915608fae For a short period, you may download a copy here It was the only Christmas present I received. |

buda heard a knock on the door about 7am in the morning. To be honest, it could have been 9 but who the heck wakes up that early between Christmas Eve and a week after New Years, so buda did not bother, especially when the knock was not repeated. Well, buda just opened the door and just outside was the first book to arrive. Thankfully, its one that hides where buda is headed. The Evening and the Morning by Ken Follett ISBN 978-1-4473-7878-8 £11 on Ebay It was people on this thread who compelled me. My gratitude to them is immense. www.nairaland.com/attachments/12892452_notable02383_jpege565852d7814da26e325952333a4ed96 |
Timiofak:You get sense. Unfortunately you think everyone else got sense too so you undervalue the sense you got by not understanding, you get sense. |
bularuz:Shows how little you are willing to learn from those who solved the problem you face. Those deceived will surely be known. |
Well, not exactly going to hell except perhaps in the minds of those Stockholm drones who condemn Eve for opening eyes to bondage. Just my reading, or to be accurate, my book buying, rather still to be exact, my book ordering addiction is back. I used to walk down streets with bookshops so I could go in knowing I could not walk out without buying a book. Then I began walking down streets with like 10 bookshops and go in every one and buy books. But now I'm on lockdown I don't even need to leave my home to find a bookshop and I think I seriously need help! I will list the books as they arrive. You will understand better when you see what I ordered. |
Kepler453:Now you get it. We complain instead of understanding we are the ones who make our Nigeria what it is and what we want it to be. I thank the Gods that time is on our side. We can continue moaning if we prefer or get off our lazy asses and start being the change we want to see. One day for sure the date will be somewhere in the year 2030, and 2040, and 2050, and 2060, and even if we are dead we will leave offspring who will hopefully not abandon our graves because they suffer too much from our wailing and inaction. |
basilico:You know that means your lawyer is incompetent, right? |
basilico:Don't mind them. 81m Biden voters disparaging a whole 74m trump supporters who want to deny their evil lost and the Good has prevailed.
|
basilico:Really? Despite all your deplorable maganonsense trumpism? Lol. |
lexuswagon:buda does not fear evil of government. If you too do that which needs to be done so you don't fear, evils of government will stop being your bother and you'd likely become bold enough to elect the government you prefer. Your strenght will increase, buda prays. |
bularuz:You sound like those trump people claiming "trump won, only the press elected Biden". Continue to be lying to yourself to avoid the truth. |
Kepler453:You saying we voted out Ebele for bubu who is now worse and you want to blame bubu or buda, for our choice? You see, this is what most fail to get. We, the Nigerian electorate, elected bubu, and instead of accepting we might have made a mistake and figure out a way to not make the same mistake next time, we are here insulting one another while the bubu is enjoying life like we can only dream of living. Election soon come again. The way we are going however I expect us to elect some other incompetent person as president. Remember this. If you think it is bad under bubu, you have not seen bad yet, because it will most definitely get worse than it is today, sadly, before it starts getting better someday. |
cassbeat:No, I can't say that "in all things" because it will not be true. In most things though. One is there is definitely less free money for lazy fuqs under bubu, and for that I'm glad because hailing politicians for pay has become less lucrative and people must find something to do for their dinner that literally fell like manna under Ebele. If you listen carefully, you'll hear the hungry lazy fuqs moaning. |
HellVictorinho:Can one be perfect? Is perfect not a state of becoming, as in, what one can only aspire towards and the closer one gets the further it is from one? One can learn to strive to become "perfect" but there really aren't enough years in one lifetime to achieve it is what I think, not if living actually matters to one at least. Just playing the piano semi-perfectly takes hours of daily practise, so imagine if one wants to be a perfect human being if such a thing can exist, that is. Imagine the teacher. Are they perfect humans and teachers who perfectly know and understand what they teach or do they assume to be perfect according to their own scale? Then imagine the student. Are they perfect at studenting? Diligence is one thing that is taught as a proxy for perfection or near enough to it. Humans who recognise their falibility and strive to overcome it get better. But perfect? Hmmmm. Read the perfection of buda. You might understand buda's imperfection. |
Kepler453:Younger man, can you not read? I do not argue or better still, discuss, with people who can't seem to read and make baseless assertions! You have no evidence Buhari is stealing public funds, and to be honest with you, I too would be corruptly nepotic if I were President. You Nigerians can scream all you want but my Yoruba tribe will insist I give them more jobs than I give Fulanis, Hausas, Igbos and all other tribes put together and my village people would do much worse if I don't. Do know that I will be being corrupt by so doing. If you want a saint elect one instead of wailing like a child! |
HellVictorinho:Do you want us to start an argument on what is perfect, especially after I said it's like beauty, in the eye of the beholder, lol? You do understand that I mean that my 'perfect' might be just 'good' on your perfection scale, or so 'bad' or 'superior' that your scale might need adjusting? It's not a competition hell. I'm just exchanging opinion with you and not asking you to believe me. That's what reasoning is about afterall. The exchange of opinion and ideas so one learns. |
lexuswagon:Buhari called you wailers lazy fuqs. How the heck can my Iife and family be managed the same way Buhari manages lazy fuqs? Is my family full of lazy fuqs who leave it to be managed by Buhari do you think? Trust me when I say you make me laugh. Amen. Lol. |
Sirjamo:They will claim it does not matter. In a nation that mainly services its budget from the sale of oil. |
Kepler453:I never said Nigeria is safe. I do recall however how fearful people were of coming to Nigeria during Jonathan era, but then, I do not know where you are in Nigeria. Some places are worse now and some other places were worse under Jonathan, and if I remember correctly, money meant to fight terrorist under GEJ ended up in some foreign bank account. |
