Sorry, didn't share sooner. Will look for a recording and post. A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols signals the beginning of Christmas for millions of listeners across the world. The service consists of a series of Bible readings which tell the story of the loving purposes of God, interspersed with both new and traditional hymns and carols sung in the majestic beauty of the 15th century King’s College Chapel. This year's service marks the musical contribution (through their arrangements and descants) of several former Directors of Music, including Sir David Willcocks, Sir Philip Ledger and Sir Stephen Cleobury, as well as the current Director, Daniel Hyde. The English twentieth century composer Elizabeth Poston features in the service, as well as arrangements by polish composer Witold Lutoslawski and former chorister Bob Chilcott. The service has been broadcast live from a packed chapel on Christmas Eve for over 90 years, but for safety reasons this year it has been recorded without the presence of a congregation. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000qjn9

Dtruthspeaker:It's still heaven so I praise God. |
LordReed:Funny he thinks his highlighting is not noticed. |
Dtruthspeaker:You, concern me wherever you are. |
LordReed:He is not very bright, is he? |
Dtruthspeaker:buda sings praises to the Almighty Lord God. If it's where I am now, it is heaven. |
HellVictorinho:So, just about anything can be a religion so far as I use my brain or taught it by an influential person? To be honest, I expected a much more defined definition of religion from you, but all you seem to be giving me is what religion involves, as if telling me what is involved in something is a definition of the thing. Hell, how can religion be bad just because it involves "practices that are done according to the philosophy/reasoning of an influential person or/and as they are said to be done by such person"? What if the philosophy/reasoning of an influential person is better that my own philosophy/reasoning? Would it be a bad thing to abandon my own philosophy/reasoning for the superior philosophy/reasoning of an influential person? Is it bad for your philosophy/reasoning to influence me because religion is bad? Must I refuse to learn from you? |
DCatt:I can not wait for his return. His God Robertson has rooted for President Kamala and with degbu having to obey his God, Kamala is a sure win. |
sonmvayina:Seems your sincerity was very short lived. Glad to see you know what a dummy must sound like though. It makes me confident you will eventually recognise one. sonmvayina:Son of the God Zeus, or Jupiter, according to some. What about him? Do you think he is excluded from my, "Did research. Found it's common for Gods to have virgin or otherwise unusual births"? Or did you just not understand what you read? Stories of miraculous births often include conceptions by miraculous circumstances and features such as intervention by a deity, supernatural elements, astronomical signs, hardship or, in the case of some mythologies, complex plots related to creation. |
Speak only the truth, dt! You are not patronizing buda. You are just ignorantly shouting insults at buda. And buda is not fleeing. Which shows how powerless you are. Dtruthspeaker: truespeak: |
Dtruthspeaker:You really ought to be ashamed of yourself, you are begging! Is begging what the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ taught you to do when satan torments you? And when your begging fails, what then? Think now! Slowly.....think..... I smh@u! The below is to strengthen you. www.nairaland.com/attachments/12886890_notable02357_jpegfd4d267ca78003632ea5b86592c4a0ae You can beg all you want dt, the answer is no. |
Off topic.

HellVictorinho:So, religion is specific to "the expression of a belief in spirits/Gods"? Essentially, one can not have a religion of other things one believes in like money worship, or MillWall, or aliens, or just books, it has to specifically be "done towards the expression of a belief in spirits/Gods"? Do you know Buddhism does not have Gods and spirits? Is Buddhism a religion, hell? |
HellVictorinho:No, you shouldn't. Especially not with buda you will find. I try not to assume words mean the same to everyone. As I say, beans is not same beans for everyone. As my mama cook her own no be so your mama cook your own. It's why I'm asking for a definition. We may not be talking about the same thing. |
HellVictorinho:That is why I am asking for your own different way. No? What do you mean by, "can not be seen"? By whom? A blind person? But lets leave that for later Define religion and spirituality anyway you like. Just ensure it is your own "people define". Please note. You do not have to if you don't want to. |
MaxInDHouse:Do you know he's been missing since that post? www.nairaland.com/attachments/12880101_notable02339_jpeg5164cac31c2574454f2ff8a710b7cdea We are very worried. |
Don't beg me! Just think of the meaning of your own words. You are free to call buda whatever you want. It's what people who can't use their brain do. They insult and name call thinking it makes them seem smart. Dtruthspeaker: |
sonmvayina:I always appreciate sincerity. And more so your use of the word "understand". Don't like the "suppose" however, because what it accomplishes depends on the individual. Like beauty, according to the understanding of the beholding mind. Ma is a nurse. A maternity nurse with thousands of babies. When I was younger and the poor come to baby, I boil the water and listen to their crying and ma making fun of them that they should have thought about it before spreading their legs for the man. Lesson. Spread legs man, baby in oven! Now, years later I find this book talking about a virgin giving birth. You can imagine how much fun can be had by an atheist with just that, but buda is curious. Did research. Found it's common for Gods to have virgin or otherwise unusual births. So what could it mean. So I studied Mary, the Virgin Mother of God. Found out she was the learned one, an educated daughter of a priest/scholar of the day who could read and was not defiled by the williness of men hence a Virgin, unlike Eve who was corrupted by Adam's lies! I mean, you do know the Jewish prayer, that goes "I would rather be a Gentile than a woman"? Keep them stupid, keep them ignorant marry loads of them and keep them servile, seemed to be the religious motto of the day. Well, Mary was a virgin from all that, as in, that nonsense had not defiled her mind. No wonder she was able to teach Jesus to become the Son of God, I figured. Now, Imagine your wife or daughter or your mother understood what I just wrote above. Imagine the sort of children your mother might rear, how much smarter you might have become, and your children and grandchildren after their mother educates them like Mary educated her Son. Can you see a purpose? Aside. I was on the bus typing the above and got carried away and missed my stop and two more after. Thankfully the stop I awoke was opposite the off licence. So I went in and bought the below to celebrate your sincerity. May it last.
|
Dtruthspeaker:Really? Lawyers judging their own cases? Does that not sound like a corrupt court to you?
|
Dtruthspeaker:Are you sure you are a lawyer? You sound very judgemental. Like a Judge. |
Hathor5:Your interest in Psychology has made you a therapist who helps others know and overcome weaknesses. I'd say your prayer is answered Hathor5. |
DCatt:Concluded? Why isn't the accused before a judge? |
LordReed:America might need to do McCarthy on fascists! |
sonmvayina:You can not imagine how much respect you have from me for the above and fact that you have to sleep over it. That is because by design I am not writing for your eyes that see but comprehendeth not, but for your mind that takes what your eyes see and works when you sleep to interprete it to you and give you meaning. You are at fault. Having had the opportunity to engage buda for years and understand buda (note, not believe!), you have only just begun reading buda, but you have not yet learnt to ask questions, which is the next level in your education. sonmvayina:Can you possibly consider that you say the above because you lack understanding? After all, millions have been led to God by that which has led not you. Or is it your opinion that they all lie? Do note that by adding it, the Romans have made the New Testament a part of God's Words, though like all texts, one must first tune to the God Channels to comprehend. sonmvayina:buda is not like you son, and should not assume nor generalise that everyone has the experiences thst you have. After being an atheist from birth, and not having buda's head filled with bull shit, buda only adopted religion in January last year, and buda is not finding it hard to learn and understand at all and not believe, which is where you err. You judge by believability, perhaps. Like if you are told a virgin gave birth to a child you must decide to believe it or not, and since you rightly can not believe it you call it all bull shit. That is what many do. That which they do not understand they call names. buda has no such problem of being obliged to believe because it is obvious that a woman can not give birth without receiving sperm. This makes buda seek understanding of what could possibly be meant by The Virgin Mary gave birth in a manger, which I am of the opinion you do not do but discard instead. Your eyes will surely open. Seek, and be patient on the Lord Almighty. |
