Thanks Spyder. I like them, they're a good way to hide unsightly pipes especially the big ones for solid waste rather than embedding them in the walls - maintenance. spyder880: |
What did the sunbreakers cost you? |
I think you're right. I lived in a building (in Lagos) in the eighties where the water pump shuts off by itself when the water gets to a particular level and turns on automatically when the water falls below a particular level. Maybe this is what local electricians call it but the device is also called a float switch. tranxo: |
skimanski: Many thanks, Skimanski |
Great job you're doing, Skimanski. Keep it up! A few questions - do you have a reliable supplier for filling sand? How much does each trip cost? Do you have a reliable carpenter? I'm working on a small project not far from Abraham Adesanya estate and need a carpenter to build the kitchen cabinets and wardrobes. Thanks in advance! |
This guy - Simon - knows his stuff. He made me a spare key and programmed it in not time. Highly recommended. |
spyder880:Won't it (the nylon) disintegrate over time? I've always wondered the same about the nylon used in DPCs, but that's probably not quite as exposed to the water and weather conditions. |
What's the total cost of the kitchen cabinets? They look good, so also the casting around the well. spyder880: |
What's the idea behind laying the blocks in the middle of the soakaway by the sides? |
Oga Spyder, Do you mind sharing the cost of the aluminum sunbreakers? What of the wardrobes and kitchen cabinets? |
Lol. You are right o, I will tone down the thanks as you advised. mufutau55: |
True word, my brother. Thank God for this "classroom", in fact they have tiled the walls (but not the floors) and I was already blaming the tiler for tiling the area where the bath will be. Now that I know better, I will even go back and thank him. mufutau55: |
Many thanks for the advice, Rotech and Haji. My plumber suggested the same, but I've never seen it done that way so I decided to seek advice. I will give him a go-ahead then. |
One question for the house - is it a good idea to tile the entire bathroom before placing the bath tub? In other words, does it make sense to have the bath tub sit on tiled floor and rest on a tiled wall? |
I had another splendid experience with Rotech last week; not only does he deliver good quality tiles and bathroom accessories at good prices, he has also proven to be a vey honest person unlike most other people in similar businesses. I don't know how he did it but I especially appreciate the speed of delivery on this last transaction. Oga Rotech, keep up the good work, the sky is your limit. |
@NL1960 Lovely house, the painting brings out the beauty. Welldone bro. The scaffold looks solid. How tall is it and how many feet are under the ground? |
I did something similar - I don't quite recall if it's 1/2 or 3/4 inch pipes we used. I regret it - I can tear down the burglary proof with my bare hands in little time if I'm determined. It will have to be redone in due course. In fact thieves have already taken advantage of the weakness of the pipes - they broke in and made away with cables that had already been placed in the conduit pipes, I'd recommend something more solid. How much will clear 2007 Honda Accord? It was shipped on AES. Thanks in advance. |
mufutau55: Just what we thought Oga Spyder... how stable/sturdy/strong can that "One legged" Water Tank Stand be? Wooden pole with some structures attached. But then that Tank doesn't look very big either... oh well... We like to cut unnecessary corners in Nigeria.. Looks like it's carrying a small tank afterall. Nevertheless, the thing still dey fear me... |
mufutau55: When I saw the picture, I was thinking the same thing... All I see is trouble/disaster later... who in their right mind will put-up that kind of structure? Exactly my thought. They do however have struts bracing the basket to the pole. Let's wait for Spyter to get a closer picture, it might just be that there's something the picture is not showing. |
More grease to your elbows, Oga Spyder. In the last picture, I see a scaffold / tank stand that looks like it's standing on one "foot". It just has one pole in the middle, a basket at the top and a ladder by the side. Is that for real or am I seeing double? |
How many litres are the tanks in the picture? I see they are placed at different levels, do they serve different floors? |
True word, Haji. mufutau55: I have received several emails asking me "Why do you praise this guy so much", my reply to them is "Please try him and get back to me" and I have always got a good reply and feedback... Thank you Bugmenot for this commendation too.. When you do business with someone and you are very happy with the goods and services, you will always patronize the person again and again. Keep up the good work Rotecch77. |
I had a very good experience with Rotecch - good prices, prompt and free delivery, excellent service overall. Highly recommended! |
Do you cast the POP or do you use POP boards? Which do you recommend? |
Oga LebanonCedars2 How much are the flush doors? |
PeoplesArmy: This PVCs looks very nice when installed. Is this from Innoson or you settled for another domestic manufacturer? Our people are trying sha. Seconded, lovely PVC. |
Oga Spyder, how easy is it to clean the cement stains on the windows? What's the best way to go about it? Lovely windows and hood by the way. So also the door. |
My exact thoughts. Relocating the bedroom door to the right hand side, along the passage should do the trick. Nice design otherwise. mufutau55: Not bad.. but I don't like the idea of exiting Lounge & Bedroom into the verandah to access other parts; no privacy.. |
How much will clear 2007 and 2008 Honda Accord? |
spyder880: We are still working on the soak away/septic tank system of this house, we plan to start moving doors, windows and other fittings into this site as soon as the markets start early next year. But the excavation is ongoing now, more pictures as soon as I visit the site. Do you have a rough idea what the soak away & sceptic tank construction will cost? |
Oga Spyder, not only are you honest, hardworking and kind, you are one of the most humble individuals I have come in contact with. No doubt, this is just the beginning of your going places. May the Lord's blessings be bestowed on you and your household this yuletide season and into the new year. |
