Thanks for your response.
What will it cost me to:
change the main board to that of PAL/multisystem?
The size is 40 inchea and model number is un40d5550.
Thanks again.
nnacent: U have two options.
1. change the main board to that of PAL/multisystem 2. Buy an NTSC converter.
Note that 1 is more reliable and like normal image, while 2 is far cheaper but more cumbersome and slight distortion in picture quality.
If you don't do any of the above, images will be in monochrome(black and white) and not clear.
Thanks |

I have a Samsung smart TV that was shipped from the US where they use the NTSC system. Will it work with DSTV or GoTv? Will I still need a pal ntsc converter?
Thanks in advance.

Many thanks for the explanation.
spyder880: Its actually a well with borehole capabilities. This well is about 900mm in diameter and about 50 feet deep. we are going to use a submersible pump inside it after the rings are dropped in. |
Properties › Re: Newest And Ongoing Building And Estate Developments From Tigerkenn Homes by bugmenot: 7:45pm On Mar 23, 2017 |
Rings for borehole? Never heard of that. All boreholes I have seen have plastic pipes as sidewall and are just wide enough to fit a submersible pump.
Please educate those of us who know know not like yours truly.
spyder880: We are still fitting this house with lights, and making rings for the borehole we are sinking in this compound......... |

I experienced cable theft firsthand. The thieves pulled out every single cable in the building - all kablemetal. Compound was fenced and gated and there were habited buildings on two sides, bush on one side and a road in front.
In addition to some of the advice here, the sooner you connect to electricity, the better. This way, you may even catch a (roasted) thief.

Thanks Spyder. Can you recommend a good and reliable roofer in that area?
spyder880: First aluminium factory is in PH. But you cannot buy directly from there as they sell only flat sheets in big coils to other aluminium companies who buy and now cut and corrugate.
Every aluminium company like Eastchase, Andy young and others can get you First aluminium products. Ask a roofer based in Onitsha and he will contact someone in the area. |

Other builders show off clients' projects built to standards at record costs and the clients give them accolades. Not only is our friend here the builder and the client, he is also the reviewer. The lizard that fell from the iroko tree...
While some get numerous referrals from their clients, others trade words with theirs - very unwise if you ask me.

Some people should cover their faces in shame. It's amazing how they think they can blurr their (leopard) spots by preaching harder. Anyone who invests an hour researching builders on nairaland will have himself/herself to blame if they fall into the hands of the wrong person.

Properties › Re: Nexthome Official Complaint Thread by bugmenot: 8:43pm On Jul 10, 2016 |
This type of behavior has become Bosun's trade mark. I bet there are a million such situations that don't get reported on NL. And even if he refunds you 100k today, it is worth much less than it was worth in 2014.
Nairalanders beware.
yincalley: It is quiet unfortunate that people still deal with Bosun (Brabus). He is a confirmed fraudster and chronic criminal.
I transferred agreed sum of 100K to him for Architectural and Structural drawing in 2014. He acknowledged this payment. He did unprofessional, unsigned and unsealed drawing which was rejected immediately.
I complained about this matter on nairaland when he was not picking my calls again. He called me immediately to beg me that we should settle it offline. He begged me not to post on Nairaland again and promised to refund the 100K.
Ctrl click the link to see the trend of our conversion on nairaland (Re: Nexthome Official Complaint Thread). He pretended as if he is real claiming he will pay me the 100K that week. He have being buying time claiming he will pay when he have money.
He suddenly send sms to me offering to pay 60K as final payments in two instalments. I told him to pay the 60K at once. This is over 5months.
Now, he is saying he doesn’t have money and cant even advise when exactly he can pay.
It is quiet unfortunate that such person like Bosun (Brabus) claims to be a profession and keep duping people.
This is sad.
Everyone dealing with Bosun (Brabus) are taking greater risk.
He is a fraudster and criminal. My experience with him is sad.
He can comment on this if I lied against him or if he disagree that he is not a fraudster and criminal.

I hope I'm wrong, but I'm afraid unsuspecting nairalanders could still fall victim to his antics.
I started to see the handwriting on the wall almost 5 years ago. He captured my attention when he messed up a guy's (ahonhai) renovation work. I was totally unimpressed by accusations over quality of work and his (mis)handling of finances while often throwing insults. Before long, he was in Port Harcourt to put another guy in a mess. The type of questions he often asked the experts here made it quite obvious he was an armature. He was often eager to offer advice on others' projects and was quick to criticise other builders, pretending to be a pro offering professional advice. Combined with a horrible attitude and always shifting blame to his clients, I developed a lot of suspicion for him.
I applaud EgunMogaji for starting this thread. I hope it will prevent some innocent nairalanders from falling victim.
kolnel: He will only come back to make a fool of himself He can't survive it now, this thread is a sticker and an eye opener |

Thanks Oga Spyder for the bitter truth. :-). I'll plan to do just that so we don't have to worry about it in the future.
spyder880: Roof over it! well, that's the best solution to the problem if there is money to do so. Once a decking starts to leak, there is very little you can do to stop it, I have tried
1. Plastering over it, even doing a smooth flooring 2. Covering it with nylon sheet 3. Pouring molten bitumen on it
And all these were solutions that worked for only a few months before the leakage continued. It's usually tough. |
