s that India.Arie? What happened to her hair? Ha ha ha ha ha
Dat dad a dat da [4x] Dad a ooh

[Verse 1]
Little girl with the press and curl
Age eight I got a Jheri curl
Thirteen I got a relaxer
I was a source of so much laughter
At fifteen when it all broke off
Eighteen and went all natural
February two thousand and two
I went and did
What I had to do
Because it was time to change my life
To become the women that I am inside
Ninety-seven dreadlock all gone
I looked in the mirror
For the first time and saw that HEY,

[Chorus]
I am not my hair
I am not this skin
I am not your expectations no no
I am not my hair
I ma not this skin
I am a soul that lives within

[Talking:]
What'd she do to her hair? I don't know it look crazy
I like it. I might do that.
Umm I wouldn't go that far. I know , ha ha ha ha

[Verse 2]
Good hair means curls and waves
Bad hair means you look like a slave
At the turn of the century
Its time for us to redefine who we be
You can shave it off
Like a South African beauty
Or get in on lock
Like Bob Marley
You can rock it straight
Like Oprah Winfrey
If its not what's on your head
Its what's underneath and say HEY,

[Chorus]

[Bridge]
(Whoa, whoa, whoa)
Does the way I wear my hair make me a better person?
(Whoa, whoa, whoa)
Does the way I wear my hair make me a better friend? Oooh
(Whoa, whoa, whoa)
Does the way I wear my hair determine my integrity?
(Whoa, whoa, whoa)
I am expressing my creativity,
(Whoa, whoa, whoa)

[Verse 3]
Breast Cancer and Chemotherapy
Took away her crown and glory
She promised God if she was to survive
She would enjoy everyday of her life ooh
On national television
Her diamond eyes are sparkling
Bald headed like a full moon shining
Singing out to the whole wide world like HEY,

[Chorus 2x]

[Ad lib]
If I wanna shave it close
Or if I wanna rock locks
That don't take a bit away
From the soul that I got
Dat da da dat da [4x]
If I wanna where it braided
All down my back
I don't see what wrong with that
Dat da da dat da [4x]

[Talking:]
Is that India.Arie?
Ooh look she cut her hair!
I like that, its kinda PHAT
I don't know if I could do it.
But it looks sharp, it looks nice on her
She got a nice shaped head
She got an apple head
I know right?
It's perfect.

Family › Re: Who Is Enjoying The Fruits Of Your Labour? by Builder: 7:22pm On Nov 28, 2008
@Poster,

To start with, whats your obsession with house girls? Anyways, why would a man rent or buy a house with a housegirl and no job for the girl. . In any case, if she is servicing me and caring for my bedroom needs who cares who is enjoying whose fruits of labour.

lol, Fashola no doubt is an idiot, he is so low he even resort to digging a hole for himself. In a city where there is mass unemployment he is using tax evasion excuse of making his electorates life a misery, but isnt the revenue and customs responsible for the collection, implimentation of Excise duties.
Insurance Premium Tax. Petroleum Revenue Tax. Stamp Duty. Stamp Duty Reserve Tax. VAT. and company tax amongst other?

I honestly and i mean it, i really dont know what this man thinks his priority lies neither do i understand or appreaciate what he is doing, . That man's priorty should be job creeation and restoring order and discipline, bringing investment but instead the Arrow is busy misplacing his priorities and making peoples life a misery just like others before him.

But then again, the fool was selected, he has not got the ability nor the understanding of duties of a Governor, well atleast he understands the embezzlement and corruption bit
Politics › Re: Lagosians: Is Fashola The Expected Messiah? by Builder: 8:36pm On Nov 20, 2008
How sad!!!, that just goes to show the Deterioration of trust we have of our leaders to the extent that if the selected leader in question remotely does anything to improve the standard of the people he is meant to serve and protect he is seen as a "messiah" WHAT A COUNTRY.

This must be the joke of the century.

I bet Siemens once said nigeria's economy is one of the best in the world till we all found out about the shinanigans they have been up to, and what about what halibuton said about our great nigeria and her resources after we found out that they have bribed their way into making nigeria officals sign out our resources and many more.
Merrill Lynch comment on nigeria economy is no surprise, lets just wait for some months before we start seeing the damage they too have inflicted on our fragile economy

The success of a politician is measured by what he achieved in his first 100 days in office, nigerian politicians are

judged by how much they embezzled in the first 100 days in office

I leave it up to you on how we judge the success of the newly sworn-in governor Oshimole , but surely i know what to judged Barack Obama on.
Politics › Re: Satellite Missing: 1st Chinese 419 To Nigeria by Builder: 8:10pm On Nov 13, 2008
But on Wednesday Minister of State for Science and Technology Alhassan Zaku told journalists it had lost power and had to be "parked, like you would park a car".

"If it wasn't parked and it lost all its power there would be no energy to even move it and it would be like a loose cannon and would keep rolling about and hit other satellites in the orbit,"

Those were the words of the MINISTER OF STATES FOR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

Why do we keep voting in illiterates, imagine a whole minister for of a nation giving his reasons as the above, that country is doomed, when the real reason are below as stated by a telecom engineer who works as a consultant for a multinational communications company in the UK

The satellite was limited because the type of frequency it used was disturbed by clouds in the atmosphere, and did not work properly in Nigeria's rainy season or during the Harmattan, when clouds of dust blow down from the Sahara, he said.

The satellite also operated on frequencies already allocated to other companies and interfered with other providers' equipment.

nigeria is a country with no law, no rule , and the funny thing is that if those idots see or witness a robbery in progress i bet my life then wont wait to fight it out. i just hope and pray the woman in question is okay with no lasting injuries, and i hope the emotional scares she may have wont deter her from driving.

@backslider,

If they cant get the simple basics right, basics like constant power suply, running water, affordable accomodation, good

drainage system, good roads, hospitals etc what hope have they got in pulling a successful project such as the

proposed. Not too ago in lagos we had the mass transit tranport civilian buses which was a good idea then but now

where are they and many other projects that never lasted more than 2 years.

Its all good talking big and looking good, this is a city that wants to run before it can ever walk, it took great

cities like london, NY, Munich, etc decades to be where it is today but this is a country that is riddled with corruption, a

country with no maintaince culture and officials with misplaced priorities, not too long ago, we kept hearing the

melody " "Housing for all by the year 2000" bro this is 2009 where are the promised housing. Dont get me wrong i want

the best for the city and country but questions need to be asked. I for one im sick and tired of listening and watching

these idiots talking bout sweet nothing, what lagos needs now is mass emigration, housing, employment and not some

useless projects that will give rise to embezzlement, bribery , u know the rest. God help lagos

This is one of the sickest and dumbest story i have ever read in my life, not because of what the immigation officers do but because the story is sooo untrue, having worked as a custom officer myself at BAA airports for 3 yrs, i can honestly say the writer or the culprit isnt telling exactly what happened to her.

(1) Custom officers dont just stripe you, u are given a form of your rights and afer reading it you sign or you dont sign, if you dont sign the form your case
is referred to a higher authority

(2) /customer officers know these days that drug smugglers dont put drugs on or in their body parts, instead they swallow it , mind you this custom officials are not new in this job

(3) I really dont know why the woman never gave her name, according to the writer, she clamined of her of some kind of revenge, how sick

(4) Why didnt the woman in question never took the officals name of badge number if she so feels she was unfairly treated or in most nigerian cases racially abused, ok, u might argue she dosent know her rights, but when u were followed to the room the first thing u are made aware of is your rights and responsibilties.

With references to the above reasons, i dont believed she is telling the truth of betterstill, the reporter decided to add his own selective words to make the story sell newspaper
, maybe she is confusing murtala airport with some english airport.

@ Anonimi

Who would educate this people of their rights and responsibilities?  when the money  meant to educate them are been channelled in to private accounts, mismanaged or used for lavish parties, a good example is the former commissioner of police aka balogun or the governor of the delta area or gorilla look-alike Obasanjo, do you think if this idiots use the money in the proper way Nigeria would have the problems its having now, just think about it if the monies stolen by bode George, ibori, alams, ette, kenny martin, iyabo, babangida, igbinedion, abacha  and gorilla look alike obasanjo etc are put to proper use, would this folks have troubles knowng what their rights and responsibilities are

Nigeria have the potential of  possessing the beauty and glamour of Dubai, the economic power house of the western countries, the fastest emerging economy of  china, India and Brazil put together, the sporting domination of the USA and infrastructure and healthcare second to none but in reality Nigeria is like a war-torn country, the only thing we do better than no one is our commanding sophisticated engineered level of embezzlement, corruption and mismanagement ,   its about time this activities are included in the Olympics.
