Ren80: Good morning everyone.
Please this is my first time attending the visa interview and I would be needing your assistance with the checklist of items I need to attend the visa interview. I just got a visa appointment date yesterday for Monday 31st of January, 2022 at Abuja and I would be traveling from Lagos.
Additionally, I secured a loan with MPower financing and I wanted to know if it’s safe to mention it when asked source of funding.
Please I need your advice house. It's ok to mention mpower financing, they are well known. Just be prepared to answer various questions about them. |

sudo1986: Good day everyone.. I am presently studying a masters degree in China and I am hoping to go for my PhD in the US. Though I have applied but have not gotten any admissions.
I want to seek your opinion about some things. I have a wife and a son in Nigeria, which I hope to travel back to Nigeria and apply for visa with them.
But, I don't know if that make any sense or is it possible to process the US visa from China?
I am still in a dilemma situation because I don't know if it make any sense to go from here or I should go and process from Nigeria.
Does it also make any sense to go with my family or I should go alone?
If I get funding that covers tuition and living expenses, do I need to present any other statement if account at the embassy for visa processing?
Please someone should orientate me. My opinion! It is better to come back home and apply with your family. If you have full funding, no need for bank statement. |

sbot: Three(3) things:
1. VISA approval. 2. Bad decisions. 3. Approaches.
First attempt Visa Approved COA: $59k Location: Abuja
V.O: Have you traveled out of Nigeria before? Me: No
V.O: You’re going for your Master’s in computer science. Me: Yes
V.O: Why Computer Science? Me: It’s my childhood dream, studied it through my undergraduate and I currently do have a six(6) years experience as a senior software engineer.
V.O: How would you be paying for your tuition? Me: Got some 25% discount off the tuition, would personally offset the living expenses, a sponsor would cover the remaining tuition
V.O: What does your sponsor do? (Sadly, would not be stating this for some personal reasons, please bear with me)
V.O: What’re you coming back to Nigeria for? Me: Head of Engineering
V.O: How many staff does your company have? Me: 50
V.O: You’re already a senior engineer, what’re you coming back for again? Me: Head of engineering
V.O: Congratulations, I’m approving your visa and would be keeping your passport. Have this white paper for more information on how to pick up your passport in three(3) working days. Me: Thank you, appreciate it. Congratulations |

Vo good morning
Me good morning ma (while I passed my documents)

Me yes, with concentration in animal nutrition.
Vo what do you do?
Me I'm a research assistant at xoxo company where I research into improvement of livestock fed hay and forages.
Vo what will you be working on at the University of Maine?
Me (I stuttered and at this point I thought I had blown it.) I will be evaluating the effect of experimental formulation of experimental diet on livestock (this was total rubbish from what I had in mind I had to just join something to make sound legit)
VO tell me about your thesis
Me (I already gathered some momentum here) I will be working on use of fungal enzymes to develop nutritive additives to improve profitability in livestock production.
VO Who is funding your education? Me my brother mr kazeem , who is into oil and gas business. He also has real estate business and he currently oversee the family business.
Vo what is the family business Me we are into agro allied business
Vo (while typing voraciously for about 10 seconds rose her head and asked "you work with the federal government?
Me yes ma.(thinking I already blew it.)
Vo I will be holding on to your international passport . (Then she said those words people claim to not hear )
I remember picking the word passport and i-20. The moment I noticed she took my passport and didn't use her left hand to pick the blue paper, my mind was screaming "it's a lie"
The atmosphere was really bad today Chelsea FC just full Abuja embassy today. I would say 1 out of every 20 that went in was given white paper. I had to pinch myself if I wasn't dreaming.
This visa thing is not even by how fluent you might think you are. I was shaky throughout. At a point I told myself "Ayo, tiẹ ta". At that point I forgot what my thesis is about...I saw guys that were very fluent and even confident... na Blue paper dem collect.
PS- I don't work with the federal government. FG being helpful to my life for the very first time. It was nice doing business with Nigeria for almost 3 decades...
Who go dash me correct jacket wey fit hold -20⁰C. Maine is not for the weak. |

Gokoyer1401: Thanks for your reply. We are planning to apply together (F1 and F2). you are welcome bro. If you are applying together(f1 and F2), then you can use 1 or 2 accounts depending on the total cost versus the amount in the account. |

Gokoyer1401: My sister, hope your re fine. Just a quick question, is it allowed to submit 2 statement of accounts(husband and wife) to school and even to the embassy during the visa process? Do you mean two different statement of account? Are you applying separately? If so yes, two different SOA will be needed but if together as in the case of F1/F2, then the same account will do. |

Gokoyer1401: Thanks ma'am. Do you have an idea how much will be needed at a minimum for 2 kids and my wife as POF? It depends on the school. For instance, in UA it is $5000 per child and $5000 for spouse NIU: 5500 for spouse, 6500 per child UF: 2500 per child, 6000 for spouse WIU: 8200 for a spouse, 4100 per child So like I said, it depends on the school. It is usually stated on their website but if you can't find it, reach out to them. Best wishes bro! |

Olatemmanuel01: Good day everyone, I just joined this platform of recent and I've always been praying for the person that recommended this platform to me. Am really excited to be here because I gotten a lot of enlightenment. But I have a question that I'll love everyone to help in enlightening me. I got denied of an F1 visa at US embassy Abuja and that was November. On my I20 form I inputed that I was learning IT( programming and building of websites) but I was told that was the reason I was denied due to the fact that Nigeria is known for it rampage in Yahoo, so they have that in mind already. Knowing that, I just reapplied but I am yet to pick a date at Lagos due to the unfavorable date that is still showing. But on my current DS160 form I inputed that I am a student meanwhile I just wrote my post jamb last year and I'll be given admission this February, so due to the far date my admission will be out and I need to quickly fill up my DS160 so I could see a favorable date on time, so I just forged a date which I got my admission ( date I became a student), with the hope of backdating my admission letter to the date I inputed in my DS160. 1. My question now is am I good to go with this plan ?? Because if I am to use February which is my original date when admission will be given to me and my interview is in June, won't the consular be like I just got admission and I want to go abroad, won't he deny me because of that ? 2. Will the consular confirm from my school if I tender my admission letter to prove am a student here in Nigeria In expectancy of your reply everyone. Please guys, thanks in advance guys. Please don't pass this bye without giving a reply, am in need of a reply now please everyone. Im not sure I understand your write up well but I will do my best to reply based on some things could pick 1. @bolded, I do not think that is true. There are so many Nigerians into programming and computer-related stuff that are legit. Many even get employed yearly in the United States. 2. Please be as truthful as possible. The first opportunity is the best opportunity to get it right, it becomes more difficult as time goes by. Especially when you start needing to change your "truth" 3. Take your time to get things right, you can always use EA. But all in all, you understand your situation better! I wish you the best! |

If they approve the loan and you did not cancel it for some time (im not sure how long), you will still need to pay the loan back even if you don't need it again. But then, it would be your call at the end of the day. Best wishes! |

Sequel to the story here: https://www.nairaland.com/6936312/uche-elendus-arik-air-flightNigerian airline, Arik Air, has released a statement rubbishing claims that one of its aircraft crashlanded due to a technical fault on Wednesday Nigerian Actress, Uche Elendu, had taken to her Instagram page on Wednesday to narrate the incident which saw herself and other passengers returning to Lagos after the faulty plane had to make a U-turn. “My flight, Arik Air from Lagos to Asaba just crashlanded in a remote area. We were 10 minutes to Asaba but the gear failed and the pilot had to reverse to Lagos. I’m on a 20 minutes bus ride to the terminal now, not a word of apology from the crew,” she alleged. Contradicting Elendu’s claims, the airline in a statement released via their official Instagram page on Wednesday, stated that the said airplane landed safely at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos. “One of our dash 8 Q-400 aircraft operating the Lagos-Asaba flight this evening made an air return to base due to a technical issue. “The aircraft landed safely, and the Pilot in Command, in compliance with safety procedures, decided to disembark the passengers on the airside of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport. The aircraft was later taxied to the Arik Air hanger for maintenance action,” the statement read. Apologizing for the inconvenience, the airline claimed it provided a substitute aircraft for the affected passengers.
