Juliusmalema:The earlier Yoruba wake up the better. Yoruba should stop being politically correct while some people are bent on destroying our land. The Igbo can call Nnamdi Kanu to order while Yoruba cannot. Is this post depicting Ipob as not being from Anambra also inciting? Bunch of hypocrites! |
HeightsKE:To be fair to the Hausa-Fulani, they never contest the ownership of an inch square piece of land with the Yoruba in Yoruba land. The cause of ethnic confrontation between the two nationalities is what I am still making research on. Contrast this with Ipob campaign over who owns where in the west and the position of the Igbo. |
Obamaofusa:Ipob encroachment into Southwestern Nigeria must be checked to avoid what is playing out in Oyigbo local government area in Rivers State. |
HeightsKE:The problem is not the Hausa-Fulani. The issue at stake is the unitary system that allows it to happen. Blaming Yoruba for the emergence of Buhari is wrong. Those pushing this narrative are also guilty of supporting Atku presidency. |
Kyase:A pan Nigeria coalition is what all of us should work for. Hoarding of palliative has opened our eyes to the evil our southern politicians can do. We need to sit down at a table and fashion out how to coexist |
Kyase:Hausa-Fulani masses are suffering alongside their southern counterparts. Our duty is to dismantle the structure that causes the avoidable human misery. We should say no to ethnic chauvinists. |
SuperBold:Southern unity is welcome. However the premise should not be hatred for Hausa-Fulani. No group or ethnic nationalities should dictate to the Yoruba who to hate. |
selemo:Our unity should not be founded on hatred of Hausa - Fulani or the southern politicians working with them. We should not make the same mistake APC made. To vote out Jonathan, different political blocs formed alliance based on hatred for Jonathan to form APC. Here we are today. |
The majority of Non - Yoruba attacking Tinubu are doing so because he supports Buhari. And We have been bombarded with this propaganda of Yoruba being slaves for supporting Buhari. However this same people are comfortable having one of their own to be vice to Atiku, also a Fulani. Just as Nnamdi Kanu does not represent the Igbo people, so also Buhari has Fulani and Hausa that do not share some of his positions on national issues. Hausa - Fulani are not our enemy just as Igbo, Nupe, Ijaw, Ibibio, and other ethnic nationalities are not Yoruba Enemies. |
IamWonderful:The northern hegemonic oligarchy seems also not to learn from history. The late Abiola and his June 12 ought to have taught them a lesson that they are not superior to other Nigerians. A political party should rise above ethnic and religious sentiment. While other Nigerians are working for the party interest, the northern political hegemony betrays them and pursue Fulani agenda. |
SUFFERInSMILIIN:Then We are all in trouble in this country if a rag tag group of hoodlums can take charge while the government security forces are helpless. Now we know why Boko Haram can never be defeated by this government. The thugs and hooligans are our own bandits and Boko Haram, and just like in the north the government leaves us at their mercy. |
ivolt:Do not derail please. We are talking about the peaceful endsars Lekki protesters. |
The Fulani herdsmen were the first to raise the false red flag that Tinubu was the brain behind the peaceful endsars protesters at Lekki toll gate. The Fulani herdsmen threatened Tinubu and the the whole of South West over the peaceful protest. Then their backers in Aso Rock picked the baton from them and made Tinubu to make a public statement dissociating himself from the endsars protests. For reasons best known to the cabal, Tinubu was made to declare that federal government had the power to dislodge the Lekki protesters. That was the point at which the cabal sent soldiers to forcefully break the peaceful protest. At the same time, an endsars protest was also ongoing in Abuja. Both protests were forcefully dispersed by Aso Rock. However, Lagos protest received more deadly blow than that of Abuja. Thugs were also set against the peaceful endsars protesters. However, it appears those who unleashed thugs on the peaceful endsars protesters never anticipated the conflagration they were making. Thugs have destroyed and are still destroying, wrecking havoc while the security forces are helpless. How far this inferno of the reign of thugs will last and how it will change the country, is a matter of speculation. It is crystal clear that the Aso Rock cabal fear of Tinubu's assumed presidential ambition ignited the crisis the nation has found itself in. The cabal desperation for power knows no bounds. |
While endsars protest at Lekki toll gate is hailed and promoted to the whole world, the street protest that emerged from its disruption and termination is ugly, violent and disturbing. The street protest lays bare our shame ; exposes the damage the political class has done to the poor and vulnerable. The Lekki protesters are well fed and financially okay while their street counterparts are hungry and financially distressed. The Lekki protesters are dancing and partying while the street protesters do not have that luxury. The street protesters are hungry, and hungry men are angry men! The anger in the street protesters made them desperately search for means to alleviate their hunger. Covid - 19 palliative warehouse discovered by the street protesters is the greatest takeaway from the street protesters. How could state governments have been so callous? |
baritereign24:I pity Dangote because of his unguarded statements, either directly by him or his company management. The man does not read the mood of the nation at all. So, without being a Monopoly he cannot survive? Dangote seems to be stretching his luck too far. |
AtikuNetwork:The issue is that Buhari has destroyed Nigeria to such degree that so many people have little reason to live but a lot to fight for to get a better living. |
With Goodluck Jonathan voted out of power, it was expected that Buhari and his clique would have learnt one or two things from that election. However, Buhari went to sleep and turned Nigeria into Herdsmen play ground. Buhari literally handed over power to his kinsmen to do as they please. We were threatened with Ruga, cattle colony and now water bill. Buhari forget the rest of the country that voted him into office. He devotes all resources to to making Fulani happy. The rali line to Niger republic is the latest in his efforts to fulfill his electoral promise to his Fulani constituency. We should not forget the Fulani radio. However while Buhari was preoccupied with his Fulani agenda, the rest of the country was suffering and in need of attention. The unemployment level in the country did not draw Buhari's attention ; the poverty rate was nothing to him ; Nigeria bad roads were abandoned for Niger Republic railway line. And other crises too numerous to mention. And while the endsars protest was at its infancy, Buhari as usual, concentrated on Republic of Mali for reasons best known to him. He neglected his country and was busy with Jonathan on how to save Republic of Mali. Buhari, by error of omissions or commission, has himself to blame for the protests raging in Nigeria presently : he took Nigerians for granted and is paying dearly for it. He should carry his cross and be a lesson for all that national mandate must never be used to pursue ethnic and nepotistic agenda. |
I pity this small boy. |
vinceyinnovation:Lai Mohammed is aware the people have revolted against their excceses and has therefore gone into hiding. |
As endsars protests rage on like wildlife, Mr Lai Mohammed seems to have lost his voice. He cannot threaten us with hate speech law violation. He practically disappears into thin air. It is surprising he has run for cover. This shows this government and its functionaries are not serving the people that put them in office. What cowardice that Lai Mohammed cannot openly castigate the endsars protesters. It shows the power of the the people is greater than the power of the government. |
Hisbah may be based in Shariah - ruled north but its evil ideology is partially executed by SARS. No wonder dreadlocks, hip-hop dressings and other afro looks attract SARS attacks. God knows how many Hisbah policemen have been seconded to SARS. Everything about SARS is related to Shariah and Hisbah. |
Lynching is no more restricted to streets, roads, junctions and town Squares any more. Social media mob have joined the menace of lynching. How can a person be pronounced guilty without evidence or trial? |
Premium times too has a price. |
supportnija:He should engage himself with ending the crisis in his state. His public speech is just a means of boosting his ego when he cannot protect the people that voted him into office. |
Without firing a single bullet, Nigeria Bar Association has succeeded in forcing the governor of Kaduna State, Mr El - Rufai to hurriedly seek for peace in southern Kaduna. El - Rufai was caught off guard and had to surrender to superior power. Peace meetings are ongoing in Kaduna right now to ensure peace returns to Southern Kaduna. NBA has done what Buhari could not do ; what Nigerian security forces could not do; what religious bodies could not do. Whatever anyone else may say, the truth is El - Rufai was rattled and never believed he could be so hit hard. He has been humbled. Not even his dogmatic supporters and extremists who hide under religion and parade themselves as Muslim lawyers could save him. El - Rufai knows what lies ahead if he does not act on the facts used against his appearance at the upcoming Virtual NBA conference. Kudos to NBA for this groundbreaking achievement. It is a novel approach to send message to all those who trample upon the rule of law just because they are occupying political offices. Nigeria right now is in need of the El - Rufai treatment not just to stop incompetent politicians from public space but to force them out of office. |
The sad news in the battle against terrorism was recently broken by the United States Africa Command. It is disheartening and calls for immediate action. The alarm jolts us into the reality of being overwhelmed by terrorists if urgent action is not taken. We are currently under insidious siege that might consume us should we fail to change our approach to the war on terrorism. The bitter truth staring at us is the rise and expansion of both ISWAP and AL - Qaeda in West Africa. And with the security challenges confronting Nigeria we may be sooner than later become subjects of government controlled by ISWAP and AL - Qaeda. Boko Haram ìs somewhere in between. It is unfortunate that Nigeria's policies towards ending terrorism seems to be ineffective and discouraging. One of them is the policy of amnesty for former terrorists. This policy appears to be an incentive for to - be terrorists because no matter the crimes committed by terrorists the government will Pardon and reward them. The issue of non - performing service chiefs also contributes to the growing power and influence of terrorists. Without any positive result to show to the public the service chiefs continue to occupy their respective offices. They seem to be satisfied with their disastrous performances and refuse to improve. Whoever is assessing them seems not to know the danger such stand poses to the country. With the foregoing it is clear that terrorism in Nigeria is ravaging the land due to enablers that fans the inferno. To put an end to its spread will require uprooting so many enablers in place. Failure to do this may see Nigeria fall in the hands of terrorists. |
From all indices of progress and development, Nigeria is at rock bottom: graduates that should be at the forefront driving innovation are happy being on N- power; another set are about to be chained down to 774,000 jobs for public works. The federal government calls them social intervention programs while they are actually a symptom of government failure. How does one develop one's potential through such programs? Are these youths asset or liability to themselves and the nation? This is just a spectacle of Nigeria going down the rabbit hole. Another scenario is the emergence of other terror groups in addition to Boko Haram that this government met on ground when it came to power. We now have bandits, killer herdsmen, and other dangerous elements. With each passing day, terror is tightening its grip on Nigeria. Government is losing ground in the battle against these terror groups. To appease these criminal elements, they are pardoned when captured. They are then rehabilitated and reintegrated into their community. However this policy is not working as terror groups are emboldened rather than relent in their killing and maiming of the innocent. In fact it is an irony that the victims of these terror groups languish away in internally displaced persons camps while the captured criminal elements are cared for. Down the Rabbit hole is the idea of punishing soldiers fighting Boko Haram for one reason or the other. Court Marshall of soldiers fighting Boko Haram is standard practice while no trial of captured Boko Haram elements is taking place. Nigeria is down the rabbit hole and Boko Haram is one of unfortunate disasters we are living with. We are still seeing Boko Haram because we are in the rabbit hole. Our only hope is to jump out of the rabbit hole. |
OVB123:Nigeria supercedes any ethnic nationality. By virtue of being Nigerian, every ethnic group is the same before the Constitution. |
Charleys:For now, southern Kaduna is bleeding. |
