Bride Calls Off Traditional Wedding Just A Day To The Event In Delta - Refuse To Give Reasons

A prospective bride, Blessing Esakpe shocked everyone as she decided to call off her traditional wedding to her prospective hubby, Comrade Monday Ezuzu, just a day to tying the knots in Ozoro area of Delta State.

A Facebook user @ Prince Emeleze Mark who shared the shocking information said the lady was asked more than seven times if that’s her decision, and she reaffirmed it.

He wrote;

“Today i received worst shock of my life. A friend invited me for his traditional marriage at ozoro Delta state and when the d bride was called out n asked if she will marry d man her reply surprised us all. SHE SAID NO she won’t marry him. They asked her 7 tyms n she kept to her word NOoooooo. So what’s the advice to the man bcoz tomorrow is the wedding n evri arrangement has been made concerning the wedding.”

Nigerians have God and Allah to thank for still being in the 2018 World Cup after FIFA sanctioned and docked points from FIFA world cup qualifiers and awarded same to Algeria following Nigeria National Team fielding a suspended player.

FIFA had fined NFF for fielding Shehu Abdullahi against Algeria after he was suspended for a match earlier. FIFA also awarded a 3-0 victory to Algeria, which however did not affect Nigeria’s qualification for the World Cup because they had qualified already before the said match.

NFF's Reactions to the sanction:

“NFF President has directed that an internal inquiry be instituted immediately & persons found culpable be dealt with. “We accept the decision of the FIFA Disciplinary C’ttee to fine the NFF and award the match to Algeria.

“At the same time, I want to assure that persons responsible for this slip would not be given just a slap on the wrist. We are actually looking at a re-organization of the Technical Department.

“The Technical C’ttee will henceforth play serious superintending role on all details, no matter how minute, in technical matters. “It is important that all committees and depts at the NFF should move at the same pace as the Executive C’ttee,” said Pinnick

Rights Activist and Lagos based lawyer, Femi Falana has said that Nigeria cannot afford to scrap the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) but needs to completely overhaul it. According to Falana, SARS is a legacy of the military government and a partially illegal squad which still operates like they are in a military regime.

He, therefore, stressed the need for armed troops among SARS operators to be removed and the policemen among them re-orientated.

In a recent interview on Channels Television, Falana said:

“You must remove the soldiers in SARS and retrain the police among them. You re-orientate them because they still behave as if they are under military dictatorship because SARS is a legacy of military dictatorship. As it is constituted, it is partly illegal under a civilian and democratic dispensation. Under the constitution, the duty of maintaining internal security, law, and order in Nigeria is vested exclusively in the police.

“SARS is constituted by armed troops, soldiers and police personnel all over the country. Every state government maintains the SARS in the country and these state governments have not bothered to find out what is this body doing in terms of law enforcement, combating armed robbery and performance in terms of respecting the rights of the Nigerian people.

”Stressing the need for SARS to be totally overhauled as against calls by some concerned citizens for the squad to be scrapped. “The Nigerian new colonial state cannot afford to scrap SARS, it is not possible. We have an increasing wave of armed robbery, kidnapping terrorism and other serious violent crimes which the regular police personnel have not been trained to curb or combat, therefore we are going to have SARS but it has to be totally overhauled.”

Falana commended the efforts of Nigerians protesting against SARS saying any demonstration by Nigerian against perceived injustice should be encouraged but the protesters must also be made to appreciate that the law has taken care of all their concerns and fears. “What we are therefore required to do is to ensure that the laws are enforced which has made it illegal to detain a Nigerian without taking him to the court in a place like Lagos or in the rural areas beyond 48hours,”

Yoruba Singer Yinka Ayefele Marks 20yrs After The Accident That Condemned Him To Wheelchair

Today marked 20 years of an accident which left Popular veteran Yoruba Singer, Yinka Ayefele condemned to wheelchair. The singer who was a broadcaster then had an accident in his blue Volks Wagen beetle, that left his spinal cord badly damaged.

Is even little had to imagine that he was once walking with his two legs. Recounting memories of December 12, 1997, Yinka wrote;

‘Exactly 20years Today, 12th of December 1997 my turning point. Glory be to God almighty for his love and kindness over my life from the past 20 years since I had that accident. It was indeed my turning point.

I am grateful to you lord for making me a living testimony and I sincerely say a big thank you to all my fans all over the world for your unflinching support for the past 20 years. Whereever you are, please acknowledge God on my behalf’.

Well I don't know how truthfully this information is but an Igbo lady shared that she saw IBOB, Indigenous People of Biafra, leader, Nnamdi Kalu buying Pizza in Ghana. She shared this on her Facebook account with username Uju.

She claims she saw him at Eddys Pizza in Ghana at about 8:45 pm, yesterday, 11 of December 2017…

She says when she saw him, she spoke to him at first, but then he refused to respond to her, not until she spoke Igbo and he responded.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), acting Chairman, Mr Ibrahim Magu has named other individuals implicated in the police pension scam for which Abdulrasheed Maina has been declared wanted.

He said the suspected pension thieves were in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and Police Pension Office. He also said that over N2.8 billion was recovered from the suspects, excluding some assets that were under interim or final forfeiture, The Nation reported.

Magu said: The suspects investigated in the Police Pension fraud from whom assets were seized, include: Atiku Kigo, Esai Dangabar, Ahmed Inuwa Wada, Veronica Oyegbula, Uzuoma Cyril Attang, Sani Habila Zira, John Yusuf and their associated companies and persons.

In the pension office of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, those from whom properties were recovered are Shaibu Teidi, Phina Chidi, Abdul Mohammed, Emmanuel Olanipekun, Aliyu Bello and their associated companies and persons.

The assets seized from these suspects are in two categories. There are assets that are under interim forfeiture which means that they are temporally seized pending the determination of the substantive cases in court.

Such assets cannot be dissipated because the cases are pending in court. The reality is, most of the assets recovered from pension fraud suspects belong in this category. The cash element of the recoveries is also carefully documented. The total funds recovered stand at N2, 886,743,016.71; $3,017,556.73; and €3,385.40.

He equally challenged anyone with evidence that EFCC operatives were re-looting recovered funds to come forward with it.

The lawlessness in Nigeria is alarming and I for once is sick of it. I am inclined to second the notion of Nnamdi Kalu and even go as much as applauding him for calling Nigeria a ZOO. This is not a banana republic and yet everything we do points to same. How can SARS arrogate themselves as god in this country?

An ailing father of two simply, Mr. Rease Ogundipe Sedenu left his house at around 10:00pm on Wednesday to get bottle of water for his medication when he got picked up by SARS and for days, his daughters aged, 8 and 6 were left to starve.

Ogundipe’s family and friends launched a search for him when he didn’t return and he was found in Ikoyi prison where he has been remanded for three weeks on the orders of a magistrate court in Gbagada and the case adjourned.

All Progressives Congress APC, has issued the statement below in reaction to the emergence of Uche Secondus as national chairman of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.

Mr. Secondus was elected at Saturday’s convention of the party amid allegations of vote buying and ballot rigging. At least one chairmanship candidate, Tunde Adeniran, has called for the cancellation of the election.

In reacting to revelations of how money-for-votes and systematic rigging was brazenly perpetuated during the National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Congress (APC) is mindful of the popular axiom: “A leopard cannot change its spot”.

The abnormalities that trailed the PDP National Convention have further exposed the PDP as a Party not ready and willing to change. Indeed, the PDP has once again displayed itself to the generality of Nigerians that it is a Party with corruption deeply rooted in its DNA.

Again, it is tragic that the PDP which used to pride itself as “the biggest political Party in Africa” has now been reduced to a regional party.
