Politics / Why I Was "Very Direct" In Criticising Nigeria Economic Plans, bill Gate Tell CNN by bumi10(m): 10:10pm On Mar 27, 2018
Why I Was "Very Direct" In Criticising Nigeria Govt.'s Economic Growth Plans, Bill Gate Tells CNN

World's richest man, Bill Gate was a specially guest of honour in the wedding of Africans richest man's daughter Aliko Dangote and son of former inspection general of Police. In his visit to Nigeria, he hand the opportunity to speak in a forum on the budgeting and the development of Nigeria.

The American billionaire and businessman, Bill Gates, has said that his criticism of the Nigerian government’s Economic Recovery & Growth Plan was to stir leaders to wake up to their responsibility and focus on human capital development.

Mr. Gates said Nigeria needs to act to save the country’s large youth population. During his visit to Nigeria, the co-chair of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation addressed an expanded National Economic Council meeting in Abuja where he criticised the government for “prioritizing physical capital over human capital” in its economic development plans.

Present at the meeting was Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, state governors, and ministers. Mr. Gates’ comments attracted a huge debate among Nigerians across all political divides, with many backing his call. The federal government claimed Mr. Gates’ remarks were misunderstood by the media and tried to counter the message by highlighting its effort to develop human capital.

But, in an interview with the CNN on Tuesday, Mr. Gates said his intention in criticizing the country was not to be impolite but to point out to Nigerian politicians the need to focus more on human capital development to save the horde of Nigerian youth population facing poverty and other social malaise.

“While it may be easier to be polite, it’s more important to face facts so that you can make progress,” Mr. Gates said. Mr. Gates said he was “very direct” in his criticism of the federal government to stress the need for more to be done to raise the level of its investment in education and health.

“The current quality and quantity of investment in this young generation in health and education just aren’t good enough. So, I was very direct,” he told CNN.
In his Abuja speech, Mr. Gates faulted the decision to anchor the country’s long-term economic growth on investments in infrastructure, pointing out that investments in people must go hand in hand.

“People without roads ports and factories can’t flourish. And roads, ports, and factories without skilled workers to build and manage them can’t sustain an economy,” he argued.

Actually Yorubas coined that name "igbo".. The igbos at that time didn't know how to read and write.

I'm happy they prefer the Yoruba coined "igbo" to the colonial masters "ibo"

Are u serious or u just want people to insult u?

How can Yoruba coin the word "Igbo" while they can't even pronounce it and don't even have gb in the own language?

Are u for real?

Romance / Ghana Ranks 1st, Nigeria Ranks 5th In World Manhood Ranking by bumi10(m): 8:29am On Mar 21, 2018
Nigerians will not like this at all. Finally Ghana have gotten one over them. Though one would wonder if this information represent true statistics owning to the fact that Ghana ladies prefer Nigeria guys. I mean the preference has always been because Nigeria men are better in BED.

Well, a graph has revealed the average size of a man’s erect penis from all over the world and Africa takes the top spot.

Men from Ghana have the world’s largest joysticks, while Nigerian comes 5th according to the latest ranking. South African men are ranked at number 10.

It appears countries such as Asian countries such as India, Thailand and South Korea are not gifted in that department as they are sitting at the bottom of the table.

Nigeria is in the top five with Gabon, Jamaica, and Haiti. Target Map published a graph showing the differing lengths of a male’s manhood size across the World and Africa, Western Africa particular, takes the top spot.

Target Map created the colour-coded interactive infographic which shows the different sizes of men’s manhood depending on where they’re from. The African countries have the largest manhoods while erect, while orange comes second, yellow is in middle, light green is the smallest and green is the smallest.

What do you think? - detailed info below....

Romance: Teen Couple Commit Suicide By Hanging After Parents Refused Their Marriage - Photos

Now I know that those love scenes ladies watch on Zee World and Telemundo is actually for real when it comes to Indians and Bangladesh. A young couple was found dead by local residents in Bangladesh dangling on a tree after hanging themselves in a suicide which has shocked the residents.

Reports reveal that their parents were not in support of their marriage which was why the two lovers decided to end their lives owning to the fact that they don’t want to be separated.

Here’s what Patricia who shared the shocking photos wrote;

“Wonders shall never End! “SUICIDE for LOVE ” This happened simply because their PARENTS were trying to separate the “TWO LOVER’S BIRDS” from getting married by separating them but they have chosen to END it this way.

What’s wrong with the YOUTHS of NOWADAYS? Aren’t they wasted DESTINIES?

#Is that Right to suicide for love. Their families were trying to move them away from each other..then they commuted suicide…#today in Bangladesh. I have two questions to ask and I need an answers from people. Now my first question is, Is this the love Christ is talking about?

Second question: where will this two lovers spend their eternity?”

Politics / Obasanjo Declares - "Nigeria Will Collapse If Buhari Is Re-elected" - FFK Reacts by bumi10(m): 5:12pm On Mar 18, 2018
Former Nigeria's Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has reacted to a statement credited to former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, who reportedly said the country will collapse if President Muhammadu Buhari is re-elected for second term in 2019.

OBJ was quoted as making this comment at Blavatnik School of Government, Oxford University on Friday. Reacting via a tweet, OBJ said Nigeria needed to be freed from the shackles of Fulani.

In FFK's words;

“Nigeria will collapse if Buhari wins 2019 election”– President Olusegun Obasanjo, Blavatnik School of Government, Oxford University, March 17, 2018.

“Baba has stated the obvious. I am glad that he has seen the light. May God bless him. "The struggle is not against Buhari but against what he represents: the hegemony and impunity of the Fulani ruling class and the barbarity of their murderous footsoldiers known as the herdsmen.

It is not a struggle between political parties but a quest for liberation from the Fulani.”

Religion / Pastor Sued For False Prophecy After Collecting $20,000 & SUV From A Member by bumi10(m): 5:57pm On Mar 17, 2018
Police command in Bayelsa State has on Wednesday, arraigned a pastor before a magistrate court in the state capital, Yenagoa for allegedly obtaining an SUV under false pretense from one of his church members.

Apostle and founder of God Is Able Mega Fire Ministry, at Opolo, Yenagoa, Kingsley Abiekunogho has been accused of tricking one Jones Seiyefa to hand over to him, a Toyota SUV and N20,000 in exchange for “spiritual breakthrough”.

During a church programme at God Is Able Mega Fire Ministry, in September 2017, a visiting pastor was said to have called out Mr. Seiyefa from the congregation and prodded him to donate his car and the money to the accused, with the assurance that God had wonderful gift for him.

Mr. Seiyefa, who is the complainant in the case, was told by the pastor that within a month God was going to double the car and money collected from him. He was subsequently invited to the church on a later day where he was made to drink a “special” honey to quicken the expected “breakthrough”.

Several days after, instead of things improving, life became more difficult for Mr. Seiyefa who then demanded his car back. But the pastor refused. A relative of Mr. Seiyefa said he initially pledged to give only N20,000 to the church because that was all he had left in his bank account, but the pastor allegedly told him it was too small for a man of his status.

The relative said she tried to stop him from transferring the ownership of the car to the pastor but he refused. "By the grace of God, days after he did the change of ownership he came back to his senses and revealed that he did all he did because he was under some kind of influence,” she said.

The police prosecutor in the case, I. Amakiri, read out a three-count charge against the pastor who pleaded not guilty. The magistrate, Eke Spiff, granted the pastor bail and asked him to produce the guest pastor in court during the next hearing.

The case was adjourned to April 4, 2018.

Fashion / 5 Undeniable Reasons Why You Should Always Dress Well Before Stepping Out by bumi10(m): 8:01pm On Mar 11, 2018
This post is not for the corporate workers because I believe in their line of work, it is a num to dress well. I personally understand the need to dress casually most of the time since you own your business and doesn't really answer to anybody but in this part of the world, there is need to dress matures.

At least, you should know that dressing well attracts people to you initially not your intellect, personality or sense of humour. Your appearance has to open the door first before conversation can take place. Thanks to Lagos State, I learned how to dress well the hard way. That is another topic for another day sha..lol

See reasons why is paramount to dress well.

1. The way you are dressed is the way you’ll be addressed.

This is the gospel truth and most people fail to adhere to this principle. Come to think of it, you respect someone who is dressed well say a nice shirt or blouse and trousers and you are more likely to despise someone who is shabbily dressed, right?

Thanks to Nigeria police, dressing well this days is a most. If you dress shabbily, or dress anyhow, Nigeria police will have their field day on you. Especial SARS officials. They way you dress is the way they talk to you. You dress anyhow, they can even misfire on you and term is "accidental discharge" or if you are lucky, they will obtain the living hell out of you and even call you a "yahoo boy" on top that.

2. Dressing boosts your confidence:

If you have ever dressed better than you used to do once or twice, you’ll agree with me that was at its peak at that moment. Sources of this confidence ranges from the look full of admiration on the faces of people to the compliments you receive from them.

3. It helps improve your lifestyle:

A better lifestyle results into a better you.

4. It attracts the opposite sex:

Guys, you might have probably heard that a well dressed guy is far more attractive than a shirtless dude with abs. This is not to say you shouldn’t be fit and be in the gym once or twice in a week, but dressing well + a fit body completes the look most ladies desire, so next time you are about to put on a rumpled shirt, think twice!

For the ladies, a fitting dress makes you more beautiful and attractive. I said a fitting dress not a skimpy and too fitting dress. This particular one makes you a harlot.

5. Your first impression on a person matters a lot if not absolutely.

I’m sure you know what this means right?Dressing well does not mean that you’ve got to dress up in suits or formal clothes all the time but wearing what is clean, put together, fits, flatters and most importantly appropriate for the situation.

You don't need to have too much money to dress well and it doesn't also entail wearing suits all the time. In fact, personally, I'm not a suit guy and I only have one suit but I look great when I combine any cloth. Let it be straight and ironed. You will look great. Trust me.

Young Man Protests Bitterly After He Was Allegedly Refused Holy Communion Because Of His Beard

A young Nigerian man has taken to social media to express his displeasure after allegedly being denied the Holy Communion because of his beard.
According to the heartbroken and disappointed man identified as Chuka Amadiume, this happened recently at an Anglican church despite his insistence.

He shared the news on his social media page. Read what he wrote below...

"Two days ago, i went for Holy Communion at an Anglican church in Nigeria. I received a shocker!

"The Venerable aka the Pastor aka the Archdeacon told me i would not be given the "bread & wine" because i had a beard!I insisted and was given, i left really heartbroken!

"Did a little research and came up with these findings proving that most of the great Christians in the Bible had beards;

"1) Leveticus 19 vs 27
"2) Psalm 133
"3) 2nd Samuel 10 vs 5
"4) 1st Samuel 21 vs 13
"5) Ezekiel 5 vs 1
"6) Ezra 9 vs 3
"7) Isaiah 50 vs 6
"My question is:
"a) Did "Jesus Christ" have a beard?
"b) Was it ever written in the bible that i will not make heaven if i have a beard?

Please answer him ooo...

Celebrities / South African Pantless Dancer, Zodwa Deported By Zambia For Religious Reasons by bumi10(m): 7:37am On Mar 11, 2018
Popular South African Pantless Dancer, Zodwa Wabantu Deported By Zambia For Religious Reasons

The Zambian government on Saturday deported controversial South African dancer Zodwa Wabantu after authorities vowed she would not be allowed to perform because she dances without underwear, the dancer’s promoter said.

She had been billed to perform at an album launch later on Saturday evening, but was sent back when she landed in the morning at the Kenneth Kaunda international airport.

According to Zodwa promoter;

“I can confirm that Zodwa has been deported back to South Africa by the immigration department,” her promoter Lucky Munakampe told AFP, adding no reasons were given for her deportation.

Immigration department officials were not reachable on their phones for comment. Zambia’s religious affairs minister Godfridah Sumaili told AFP last week that Zodwa would not be allowed to perform in the country.

In his words;

“Zambia is a Christian nation where morality and ethics have to be followed. We don’t expect a woman to dance without underwear,” Sumaili said.

Zambia is a largely conservative country where the majority of people practice Christianity. Last year the censorship board in neighbouring Zimbabwe barred Wabantu from performing at an annual carnival after a protest by a local actress. Following a backlash, censorship authorities later backtracked and allowed Wabantu to perform at a private venue, but she refused to go saying she was afraid.

Ghastly Accident Involving More Than 4 Cars Kill 4, Including A Soldier In Abuja - Graphic Photos

4 persons, including a soldier, died on Friday in multiple road accidents at Nyanya on the Abuja-Keffi road, Abuja. The Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps , Mr. Bisi Kazeem, said 19 vehicles and a motorcycle were involved in the incident.

According to him, the dead comprised three males and one female, while nine of the injured are males. He said the accident was caused by brake failure, loss of concentration and speed violation.

Eye witnesses had earlier told the NAN that trouble started when the motorcycle rider hit one of the cars, which was being driven by a woman.

“The woman came out of her car and held the motorcycle rider, that he must fix her vehicle. "During the argument, a trailer, descending the slope on top speed, lost control and rammed into other vehicles held in traffic at the scene.

“The woman, motorcycle rider and the soldier who was there to make peace, died instantly after they were crushed by the trailer,” a witness who identified himself as Osita, said.

According Kazeem, a combined team of rescue personnel from the FRSC, National Emergency Management Agency, Army , police and Lifeline Ambulance arrived the scene four minutes after the accident.

Crime / White Lady Who Attacked Elton Prince With Bottle Released by bumi10(m): 10:16am On Mar 10, 2018
Police Release White Lady Who Attacked African Actor With Bottle After Giving This Reasons

n African actor, Cameroon-born, was attacked during a Sunday coffee run in Madrid and his alleged culprit was let go after police detained her for questioning.

“I have suffered a racist attack this morning in a multiracial coffee shop in our beloved Madrid,” Marius Makon, whose stage name is Elton Prince, began his March 4 Facebook post about the incident. He had ordered some java (coffee) that day when a woman told him, “I don’t want Black people in this place or in front of me.”

Makon, who shared the incident in a Facebook post that was translated by El País Tuesday, said he told the woman he “will only be here for a moment and then I’m leaving. I don’t have any interest in staying near you for long.” "I don’t care, you Black piece of s— get out of here,” the actor says the 33-year-old El Salvadorian woman responded.

When Makon tried to get her to settle down, she didn’t. "Black piece of s—, I’m white. I can kill you and nothing will happen,” she said. Then, she smashed a bottle of beer on the actor’s head. When she struck a second time, the stage star bled and needed seven stitches for his head wound. Makon filed a police report and the alleged perpetrator was taken into police custody for questioning. Then, she was let go.

Regardless, Makon says he doesn’t despise the woman who assaulted him.

“Now I am in my house and I look through these images [of his injuries] I do not feel any hate towards the woman,” Makon said. “I want to say that I am not angry with her and I don’t know why. I am sad that she feels such hate, that she lives with hate. It saddens me that she does not enjoy life, that she doesn’t leave a small space in her heart to love.”

“Now the problem is in the hands of the law,” he concluded. “The law will decide on the sentence.”

And while Makon may not be fired up over the incident, the Spanish Immigration and Refugee Support Network had called for an “immediate” judgment and has reported the incident as a hate crime.

The SIRSN’s Facebook memo also noted it’s urging Móstoles Town Hall and the Madrid regional government of Cristina Cifuentes to “show their condemnation for what happened.”

“We will not stop until these types of backward, intolerable and feudal-era assaults are stopped,” the organization said according to El País.

Politics / Senate Struck Out Bill Seeking To Allow Female Corps Members To Wear Skirt & Hij by bumi10(m): 7:11am On Mar 10, 2018
Senate Struck Out Bill Seeking To Allow Female Corps Members To Wear Skirt & Hijab

The Senate has rubbished and struck out a bill seeking to amend the National Youth Service Corps Act to allow the uniform worn by corps members to accommodate their religious belief.

If it had been passed, participants would have been allowed to wear skirt or hijab, among others. This followed the presentation of the lead debate on the general principles of the bill which was sponsored by Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha (PDP-Taraba) during plenary.

According to him, the bill is intended to amend Sections 13 and 16 of the Principal Act. He said the bill sought to ensure that regulations made by the NYSC Directorate prescribing uniforms and exercise regimen did not violate the religious practices and beliefs of corps members. He said the objective of the bill was to also increase the penalty for the offenses contained in the Act, to make such fines reflect the present value of the naira.

Bwacha, who is Deputy Minority Leader, noted that the NYSC was a laudable scheme established in 1973 by the then military Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon. “It was part of the effort by the Federal Government to rebuild, reconstruct and reconcile Nigerians following the unfortunate incidents of the civil war which ended in 1970.

“It is important to point out that while the scheme has lived up to expectation as a reliable platform for nurturing young patriotic Nigerians, fostering unity and promoting a better understanding of our religious and cultural differences, it has, however, become necessary to amend the Principal Act.

“This is with a view to addressing observed lapses and shortcomings. One of such lapses is that the penalty for offences contained in the Act is now outdated and in need of urgent review.

“Secondly, Section 16 of the Principal Act mandates the NYSC Directorate to make regulations or by-laws relating to discipline, exercise regimen, uniforms, welfare of corps etc. “Uniforms and drills adopted by the Directorate have become a basis for tension and controversy between the Directorate and corps members and other members of the public.

“The major bone of contention is that some of the uniforms and drills contravene religious beliefs and practices of corps members and invariably their right to freedom of religion, thought and conscience under the Nigerian Constitution. “This bill essentially addresses the above-mentioned lapses in the Principal Act,” he said.

Politics / President Buhari Next To Resign After Zuma's Resignation - FFK Mocks Buhari by bumi10(m): 12:06pm On Feb 16, 2018
The resignation of South African President, Jacob Zuma yesterday and the subsequent installment of Cyril Ramaphosa as the president was something some writter has described as epic and poetic. This is making the third time a seating president has been shown the door in African recently.

On this note, the former minister of Aviation and ardent critic of Buhari led government, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode (SAN) has said President Muhammadu Buhari is the next in line to resign from office. Fani-Kayode in his tweets on Wednesday night said it was time for African leaders who were so engrossed with power to step down.

He wrote;

“First Mugabe went. Now Zuma is going. "Next Buhari will go. After that Biya and Museveni will go. "All these dinosaurs from the distant past fell in love with power and have refused to step down with dignity. "What is it about African leaders and power?”

Religion / Christ Embassy Branch In United Kingdom Declared Bankrupt by bumi10(m): 11:39am On Feb 16, 2018
The United Kingdom branch of Christ Embassy, owned by popular Nigerian televangelist, Chris Oyakhilome, is broke and has been declared insolvent by the Charity Commission, the agency that regulates charity organisations in the country.

The ministry also admitted in its belated 2015 financial Statement (the church’s last annual return, which it published in 2017) that its subsidiary, Christ Embassy Limited, valued with a net asset of more than N1 billion (£2 million) entered into liquidation from November 1, 2016. On its website, the Charity Commission flagged Christ Embassy as “charity insolvent”. According to the commission, a charity is considered as being insolvent when it is “unable to pay its debts.”

“In practice there are two separate tests for insolvency and failure of either might be an indication of insolvency: The charity cannot pay its debts as they fall due for payment; The value of its liabilities exceeds its assets.
“Charities will be flagged as insolvent on our register when we are made aware of an insolvency situation and we are provided with verification from a qualified, independent insolvency practitioner.” the commission explained.

The church’s present financial problem is another episode in a series of crisis that has plagued the church since 2013. In 2014, Mr. Oyakhilome lost a fierce power tussle over the church in the UK with his ex-wife, Anita. Though she, now known as Anita Ebhodaghe Schafer, was the head of the UK branch of the church, Mr. Oyakilome presided over the charity’s board of trustee since inception until he was forced to resign in 2014.

After he was kicked out of the church’s board of trustee, the former flamboyant couple went their separate ways in a bitter divorce five months later. In 2013, the UK government set up an inquiry into possible financial misplacement of the church’s fund between 2008 and 2012. Government-appointed auditors later raised eyebrows over suspicious payments worth N2.14 billion (£4.28 million) made to companies and organisation closely related to the church in 2013.

Dwindling income, increasing expenditure
Though the Charity Commission did not immediately respond to PREMIUM TIMES’ request for further details about the circumstances leading to the church being declared insolvent, a peep into its financial history shows that the church started bleeding about 16 months before Mr Oyakhilome was removed as a trustee of the church.

In 2012 Christ Embassy, UK was in perhaps its best position financially. Its membership was growing in multiples and donations including tithes and offerings were ballooning. New chapters were opened all across the UK. In England, new chapters were opened in Bridgend, Peterborough, Swindon, Stockton and a third chapter in Manchester. Similarly, in Scotland, new chapters were opened in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Dundee and Glasgow.

Though in the year, its expenditure was N4.49 billion (£8.88 million), the church had an income of N8.43 billion (£16.72 million), which left it with a surplus of N3.96 billion (£7.84 million) excluding a gift of over N1 billion (£2 million) in net asset donated to it by its subsidiary, Christ Embassy Limited.
“The ministry is therefore in a comfortable position to meet all financial commitments and projections for the coming year,” the church boasted.

The first whiff of problem appeared after the church turned in its financial statement in 2013. The church’s income was N7.1 billion (£14.1 million) which was a drop of N1.3 billion (£2.6 million) from the income of thee expenditure. However, its expenditure rose drastically to N8 billion (£15.9 million), which is an increase of N3.5 billion (£7 million). Thus, from a surplus of N3.96 billion (£7.89million) the previous year, the church slumped into a deficit of N961.6 million (£1.9 million).

Despite the drastic slump in income, the church was still optimistic about its future: “The Ministry remains in a comfortable position to meet all its financial commitments and projections for the coming year,” it stated. In 2014, the church’s income continued on its downward trajectory while its expenditure stayed high. Its income dropped to N6.7 billion (£13.2 million). But due to cuts in its expenditure, the church managed to make a surplus of N506 million (£1 million).

In 2015, Christ Embassy took its biggest hit. Income for the year was N2.3 billion (£4.7 million) from the N6.7 billion (£13.2 million) the previous year, while expenditure rose to over N5 billion (approximately £10 million). Thus, its deficit for the year amounted to just over N1.7 billion (£3.2 million). The fees paid to Rod Weston of the international audit and accounting firm, Mazars LLP, who was appointed by the Charity Commission to take over the management of the church, may cause the increase in the church’s expenditure in 2014 and 2015.

The ministry’s annual return for both years indicated that a total of N7.6 billion (£15.1million) was paid to the interim manager. The church still has an outstanding fee of N1.1 billion (£2215,914) to pay the interim manager in 2015. When reached for comments, an official of the church, who refused to identify himself, was furious that this newspaper wanted to do a story about the church. "Why do you need the information? What story? Who gave you the story to work on? Why are you calling?, he asked.

When told that ethically journalists are required to talk to the subjects of their stories to write balanced reports, he said there was no need to ask the church any question. "If you are a journalist and you got your story from anywhere why do you need to balance it, you go ahead. There is no need to clarify,” he said.

Incestuous transactions......
