The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has accused their former leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike of N4b fraud.

According to New Telegraph Newspapers, the group said “Each member also pay N10,000 for Biafra International Passport to Ralph Uwazuruike. Since 1999 to 2014, members have contributed about N300 million to Uwazuruike’s account while about N200 million was also paid into a Zenith Bank account of Confidence Uwazuruike.”

Also, the panel set up to investigate Uwazuruike said “the MASSOB leader has bought houses in many locations in Owerri, including a street he bought and named after himself in New Owerri which comprises 28 plots. MASSOB has contributed nearly N4 billion in the last 16 years which Uwazurike has converted to personal use.”

Uwazuruike has since been expelled and a new leader, Mr. Uchenna Madu, elected. Observers predicted Uwazuruike’s expulsion was coming, because of the war of words between the factional leaders of Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB). In his acceptance speech, Madu asked all Igbo groups agitating for the Biafra nation to come together and close ranks.

My question: How can this be happening in a group that is agitating for Igbo independence? It will definitely be a blood bath if the actualize their dreams i will assure you that. Or what do you think?

These are hard times for Mr and Mrs Ifedayo of Ikare-Akoko in Akoko North East LGA of Ondo State.Their 7-year-old son, Oluwatombo, is in dire need of neuro surgery at a specialist hospital in India.
His mother, Stella, a petty trader, said Oluwatombo was one-year-old when it was discovered he had malignant tumour of the ear accompanied by migraine.

She said: “We just noticed that he had severe pains in his left ear as a result of swollen eardrum, which has been dangling and could not be exposed. Mrs. Ifedayo, who accompanied her son to The Nation office in Akure, said the family sought treatment at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (OAUTH), Ile-Ife.

She said: “He was operated upon but thereafter his condition became critical. We moved to another hospital in Lagos from where we were referred to a specialist hospital in India.” A letter through the Centre for Rehabilitation of Exceptional Persons (CREP) said the treatment would cost from $13000 to $18000, excluding ticket fare, feeding, accommodation and other expenses.

According to the letter, the final bill would be decided on physical examination.

There have been calls from various groups in the South-East, for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the Radio Biafra director.

To further show their resolve to continue the protests till Kanu is released, the Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) ordered traders in Abia state not to open their shops.

Meanwhile, members of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign States of Biafra (MASSOB) opposed the order, saying they were not informed of the plan.

Speaking to Daily Post, MASSOB’S assistant national director of information, Sunny Okereafor, said "MASSOB condemns the order closing down markets. MASSOB is not aware of such order, we totally condemn it. The markets should be open and people be allowed to go about their businesses.

“There is hardship in the land and you are talking about closing markets; is this not a way of causing more suffering to the same people we want to liberate?”

Recently, Ohaneze Ndigbo joined other Igbo groups to also call for the release of Nnamdi Kanu.

Here is the full list of things the Nigeria’s former aviation minister and influential opinion-maker has to say about Buhari’s tenure as president.

“Aside the 105 soldiers killed by Boko Haram, additional 34 soldiers were killed two days ago but it wasn’t in the news.” — Deji Adeyanju.

I concur with Mr Deji Adeyanju. The most heartless and reprehensible thing that our government could have done was to cover up the fact that 105 of our soldiers were killed by Boko Haram a few days ago. To do such a thing is simply evil.

A soldier ought to be honored in death and this is especially so if he dies in the course of doing his duty and fighting for his nation. The government has not only dishonored them by not acknowledging their sacrifice but they have also buried them in the wilderness like rabid dogs.

This is wickedness of the highest order and President Buhari, his chief of army staff and his minister of defense should bury their heads in shame. Anyone that buys the lie and propaganda that the 105 soldiers never died and that they are still alive is a compound fool or village idiot. Will the military also deny the fact that a few days ago, 34 of our soldiers were killed by Boko Haram? These boys died for their country. Why deny them?

I am outraged by the fact that a soldier will sacrifice his life for his country yet the citizens and authorities of that country don’t even appreciate it. Pictures of the dead bodies were posted on social media. Everyone in the military knows that those soldiers are dead. It is an open secret. Yet because government denies it so many people just choose to believe them. The truth is that Boko Haram must have used chemical weapons in the attack.When you look at the pictures of the dead bodies, this is obvious. It was probably mustard gas.

All we want from the military is the truth. If 105 soldiers were not killed, then how many actually were?

The whole episode happened last week in Borno state and the military authorities are denying it. I am sickened by that. If others cannot appreciate the importance of honoring our dead soldiers, I can. I will not be intimidated and I will not remain silent. Tell us where our boys are buried and if you refuse to do so we will keep asking. There must be accountability and respect for those that have made the supreme sacrifice just to keep the rest of us safe. Our soldiers deserve that much.

Finally, let it be said loud and clear that since President Buhari came to power he has not bought one bullet for the military. Considering the fact that we are in the middle of a protracted and very bloody war, I believe that this is utterly shameful. If you say you want to fight and defeat Boko Haram then why are you not buying arms for your troops?

In a deliberate attempt to support local economy and wealth creation, Aliko Dangote has promised to construct a 500 megawatt power plant for Kano, Jigawa, Kaduna and Katsina States. The Chairman and CEO of Dangote Group of Companies made the pledge through his representative, Engineer Mansur Ahmed, the executive director stakeholders management, at the 36th Kano Trade Fair held in Kano. In his address, Engr. Ahmed noted that without power industries and commerce will cripple and businesses seriously decline as has been the situation in Kano State.

He further revealed that they were currently discussing with the Kano State government on the megawatt power supply and final agreement will be signed soon. Engr. Ahmed made it known that Dangote has built over a hundred borehole across the state and the theatre health facility at Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital which was postponed due to discrepancies and would soon take off in the next few weeks.

Dangote group has done quite a lot of intervention across the federation,he added, sighting the example of Ebola case were the group spent over a billion naira to control it's spread and another billion naira support to Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, especially in the north east. She continued: "since the age of 13, I've been experiencing painful monthly periods. But now, after a series of Bible studies and prayers with brother Jimmy in his house, my monthly periods have stopped for more than 3 months now. No more pain, no more menstruation.

You can see I'm even getting fatter and prettier. We are starting to pray seriously about the small problem of vomiting, especially in the morning. Praise the Lord".

Ice-T and Coco Austin are the proud new parents of a beautiful baby girl. Chanel Nicole was born early Saturday morning in New Jersey. According to Ice and Coco's posts, she weighed 5.7 lbs and was 18 inches long. Coco was 37 weeks into her pregnancy.

A white Chicago policeman who fatally shot a black teenager was charged with murder on Tuesday, hours before authorities released a long-awaited video that shows the youth walking away from officers as he is slain by a volley of 16 gunshots.
