Yes, it has changed and this what many so-called Christians don't understand. It is the same thing your pastors are using to cashout.

In the old testament God was monstrously fearful. It was cause and effect. You break his law, he strikes you dead. Even the priests were not spared. Law was the order of the day.

That system of law and punishment, based on the office of the prophet failed. That is why Jesus came to die for our sin. The death and resurrection of Jesus is the game changer.

Unlike when it was about law and death, it is now about love, forgiveness and grace. If you are still holding to how people were killed by God in the old statement because they offended one prophet, then you are not actually a Christian. You are practising Judaism. Your pastor that threatened you with curses are not Christians, they are Judaists . Jesus was criticised, abused and harassed when he was alive. How many people did he curse or commanded the ground to swallow as seen in the new testament under the law?

Read Galatians 3:13 'For christ has separated us from the curse of the law being made a curse unto us. For it is written that 'cursed is he that hangeth on a cross'

No pastor/prophet can curse you. Infact their curses have no effect. The same one whose peophesy don't come to pass and their blessings have no impact on their church members and the nation?

Check most Nigerian church, 80% members live in abject poverty. So what is the effect of their blessings?

Unfortunately, God does not need your money. By paying 10% of your income, you are ignorantly dashing your hard earned income to religious merchants and charlatans.

People who are in the hospital living on oxygen are not in the condition because they do not pay tithe or even serve God. Therefore, paying 100% as tithe wouldn't stop you from buying oxygen if you have got a medical condition that necessitate that(God forbid).

When are you people going to get sense that it is sinful for a Christian to pay tithe?

When you pay tithe, you deny the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and take yourself back under the mosaic law. The problem with that is that you must obey every other law in the mosaic rules and there is no way you can comply. This is the reason Jesus died for your sins.

Nobody gets rich or comes out of debt as a result of paying tithe. The only person who makes money from tithe is the one who receives it and not the one who pays it.

See, I used to be a dangerous tither myself, I can tell you that since I stopped dashing my money ignorantly to pastors who used it to feed his family, my financial status increased and I enjoy higher level of blessing and favour.

In every Nigerian church, 80% of the members are struggling financially, living from hand to mouth, yet majority of them are thithers.

Use your head. Pay your debt so that you won't get embarrassed. Help the poor and give what you can afford to your church.

God is not interested in your money. He does not need money. He does not spend it. Money is a creation of man and there is no way it will move God. The only thing God wants is your heart.
