Common on do the maths, you have the formula up here.its going to be (Nmax-Nattained/Nmax-Nlowest)*3+1=?
From your Cgpa((5 - 3.85)/ (5 - 1))* 3 + 1 = 1.8625.

so therefore on the grading system you Cgpa should be between 1.6 - 2.5 = gut( GOOD)

Thanks for the formula, I never knew how they did it till now. But notice the little correction above, I think that is how it should be stated to correspond with the answer.

Could you throw more light on UCI and PER, and what does receiving them imply?

dmitroika: topeagis and johnson 10232..., how did you guys go about this online appointment booking tingy? were you also as curious as i am during your time? my school resumes on the 1st of october and i am yet to be able to book an appointment. appointments are booked already till august 19th. share your experiences please
This is a serious issue, all appomiemts are now booked till August 20. I wonder if there will be enough time even for those who may get their admission in July. BTW when are these dates being booked because I have been checking that page every hour since five days now and have not been seeing any free space.is there any other way the booking is done?

Bros, I don tire with the transcript thing. Abeg, who did you hand over the posting to in Futo? Maybe the person can help as well. The problem there is that they use one stupid courier instead of UPS. Please can u PM me the person's contact. Thanks

Go to the central office and ask to see Festus, he handles the posting, it is better you go there in person because they have many applications on their hands now and he may easily forget, am going there again next week to follow up, I discovered that just calling does not work. BTW, when did you do the online application? I did mine and paid since May 17.

Fantastic Result dude. Congrats. Truth is on paper, its 7 days. However when you factor in school sending transcript, school reconfirming transcript, Nipost and their snail pace then ur guess is as good as mine. Don't u have family in owerri that can go to the school and heckle them to send the transcript? Time's a ticking brother. Also see if u can pay WES to use courier. FSW, not a cheap process o!

I had to go to Owerri from PHC today and after enough quarrelling, making up and greasing some palms, they scheduled it to be sent on Monday and gave me my copy. I have somebody at the registrar's office I handed the job over but I will make out time to go the again next week to follow up on the verification.

Congrats oo, please wia did you get the practice questions, British council doesn't have. Please helppppppp

I did not buy any material from British council. There some sample questions on their website, that will give you an idea of what to expect, they are not much but I made sure I digested them, so I advice you to do same. I downloaded some free materials (utorrent files from thepiratebay), but I did not even have the chance to read any , I had only two weeks to prepare, just glanced through them.

yes they will ban you for 6 months so if u know u gonna miss any appointment, pls council it or reshedule it online else u risk ban and d system will not allow u for further appointment cos it will detect ur int'l passport number.
Can somebody reschedule to an earlier date if there is a chance and must the person cancel the first appointment before rescheduling?

kelly4top:

Disagree with you. When i went for my student visa, i have my hospital birth certificate but the interviewer said she preferred NPC and it is even in their site that you should bring NPC. They know NPC cannot give u certificate without showing affidavit of age declaration or hospital cert. They prefer NPC so that they can confirm easily as most of our hospital where we were born is no longer existing.

Does it mean that those of us born before NPC came into existence can obtain ( with an affidavit) and use the NPC certificate?

Just got my IELTS result,
Listening: 8.5
Reading: 9.0
Writing: 7.0
Speaking: 7.0

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Overall: 8.0

I wrote the exam on June 08,2013 , so those who wrote the same date can check theirs online..

FUTO is driving me crazy, my transcript is yet to be sent to WES after applying for over a month now, that is the only obstacle am having now. How long does it take for WES to conclude the assessment?

Thanks for your suggestion. From the online appointment booking page the dates have been booked till August 18, if I book around this time, how long would it take for the visa to be granted? Am in a dilemma here cos my programme starts October.

I have applied for the blocked account at the German embassy since two weeks now, but yet to get any response. Is it advisable I go ahead and book the appointment for interview for around August 20? My programme starts in Oct 1, if I go for the interview in August 20, can I still meet up the resumption date (October 1) if am successful.

Guys you just need to understand that we are all nigerians,We can do all these simple documents sharp sharp with runz that is why they believe in afidavit. In afidavit you are already gonna swear that every information on your birth certificate is real.Infact if you doing this yourself at the court, you might be given bible or Quran to swear .If you lying about your age then that is between you and God.To me NPC is not needed try get that small old birth certificate.Either you have it before or not. This can be issue at the local government/maternity.The people there can backdate and do nice job for you once you settle them!NPC came into existence around 2001 so if your bdate is 1980 and you submitting NPC it automatically shows that ya lying Believe me there is a guy at the german embassy gate, once your documents got issue this guy is gonna forfeit your day and wont make see the embassy compound. We are all here to learn and i went through all these stages!
That clarifies it. Thanks a lot!

Toluth: About this birth certificate thing, whar if u didn't collect the certificate when u were born, and the only one u could get your hand on is the NPCs', how do u go about it?
Very good question!

Godson201333:
Go to the nearest local Govt, ask for NPC office and explain to them,They will surely help you out..
So that makes whatever you are given there authentic, I think that contradicts your ealier statement for those born before the 90s (pls don't be offended oo), am just seeking clarification
Godson201333:
Na wa oo..you still on this..very simple, you saw on the list that the embassy provided,They've written there that they want your birth certificate with declaration of age (afidavit)..what else?follow the list with you..c'est fini
I understand the guys plight, because a statement in the age declaration kind of nullifies his birth certificate.
Am really confused about this, in the same shoes with beebee5000.
Travel / Re: German Embassy And Visa by Bwave: 5:35am On Jun 19, 2013
@Topeajis and others in Germany, am counting on you guys to clarify this NPC, age declaration and birth certificate issue. Thanks
Travel / Re: German Embassy And Visa by Bwave: 3:06am On Jun 19, 2013
Godson201333:

Yes it is still useful,NPC is meant for those born in new millineum(2000's),Do not go and do NPC birth certificate because the embassy will disqualify and destroy your documents cos it will be consider as fraud.Go to any court with your birth certificate and also copy of your recent passport photograph to do the affidavit. It cost 1,500 or 2k.

beebee5000: Thanks for the prompt reply, i also thought as much cause i felt NPC documents were for children born from 1990ssss, Anyway thanks for this information i am about to save a whole lot of money.

Some one told me NPC does age declaration, well i argued but since i don't have much knowledge i believed him, but deep down i knew declaration and affidavit should be a court thing.

but one more question, having a recent age declaration will it be an issue? Danke!

Please those who have had their visas granted should throw more light on this issue so that people can be properly guided, I came across an information on this forum that NPC still grants valid birth certificates to those born before the 90s.

Yes IELTS is for english. Pls research into the exam for testing proficency in French. Also, take out time to find out the official Languages of canada. It might give u a deeper understanding of how the language scores are apportioned
You are not getting the point, go to that page and look at it again, if the 4 points must come from French what business does IELTS have on the second table. As a lawyer your argument should be logical and based on facts, I don't think you understand how the language scores are apportioned.

@aspirecanada
No he is not!
OK..look at the end of the link solomonwis provided to prove his theory
At the end it says Add your point: first language + second official language
see attached
Now how can English be your first and second official language in Canada
The 4 points can only be gotten with IELTS if you choose french as your First language which automatically implies that English is your second
Na wa ooh. I just realized how difficult Understanding English can be
Think about it
Nobody is saying that English can be your first and second official language; but you can earn points for the second official language from the English language test,I think slomonwis gave a valid explanation for that. You did not explain what IELTS had to do with getting points for the second official language as stated on the link you mentioned, I just realised that critical thinking does not come easy for some people.

ifechukwukamso:

@ Aspire. congrats on your excellent IELTS results
In one of the Economic class forms question 7 asks you your first official language in Canada. Since Canada has 2 officials languages, the second one automatically becomes ruled out

It is based on this chosen official language that you will be assessed

Now for You, you have achieved 24 points for English + 0 points for french. For you to get that 4 extra points, you must score the minimum required marks in the 4 different modules in the french language test (the reverse is the case for people who chose french as their first language).
Now this is where solomonwis is confusing things. If for instance id i claimed French as my first language and i scored a total of 20 in my french language test, for me to get 4 extra point from English (if i choose to, then i MUST HAVE THE MINIMUM SCORE FOR THE FOUR SECTIONS IN MY IELTS MODULES (ie CBL 5 and above).

What solomonwis is saying which is absolutely wrong is that after scoring your points for each of the modules, they will then give you additional 4 points for getting the minimum in the same English test which really does not make much sense.

For the the Notarization issue, take it or leave it that is the truth i have said. I WONT COMMENT FURTHER ON THIS

Cheers!

I think solomonwis is right! Unless you can explain why on the CIC website, IELTS score was stated as a determinant of eligibility to gain the 4 points for second official language. We all know that IELTS is for only English language.

You know I asked a question in order to know what to expect if one is to work while studying (for me if it is not worth it, then I would rather concentrate on my studies) and I wonder if there's anything wrong in asking somebody what kind of work he does except for people like emeka55 who are not comfortable with saying what they do.

He already answered ur question about working in Germany as a student and u were dumb in the end. Why didn't u ask him when last he had sex? There are lots of reasonable information passed on this thread and ur stupidity won't stop the flow. U can ask questions without getting personal and people will be glad to answer. Done!
Ur idiotic comments are exposing u for who you really are.I was just advising, but u r showing that you are unteachable, a fool knows not that he knows not.I am not joining issues with a bloody buffoon on the net.

It has been said many times that there are student jobs in Germany and they clearly stated the conditions. Are u guys hoping to work in the bank or government house before u believe there are jobs there angry
U sound like an infant and u comment does not depict any iota intelligence. Let me educate you, there is always a reason for any question and only a fool responds to a question meant for another person. Well in any case my question has been answered by people who can.

Hi,congtrats on your admission. Which month did you send your application documents? I sent mine in mid may to two schools (not through uni-assist though). I sent them directly to the schools. I keep checking my status online but nothing changes. someone said it takes between two to three weeks to get a response. is that true? how long before you got the admission e-mail?
I sent my application in April and I got the email on May 28.You don't have to worry if the deadline for any of the applications has not elapsed. You can also call each school on phone to know the status of you application ( have your application number with you, when contacting them). I called the school in my own case, and that was when I was told that my application had been forwarded to uni-assist, because I also sent the application directly to the school. I had to send an email to uni-assist, they acknowledged the receipt of my application from the school and instructed me on how to make payment. Good luck.
