There's been several changes to European competitions for this season.

From the team who finishes fourth in the Premier League now gaining automatic entry into the Champions League group phase thus no longer having to face a pre-qualifier in August to an additional substitute in extra-time, a lot has happened at Uefa's headquarters over the past few months.

With so much going on, it would be understandable if many supporters haven't been able to keep track of all the changes.

One alteration that had slipped under the radar of Arsenal and Chelsea fans was that of the new kick-off times in the Europa League for this season.

Gone is the traditional split of half the games on Thursday kicking off at 6pm and the other half getting started at 8.05pm.

In it's place is two new kick-off times, but in truth the changes aren't too drastic like the Champions League.

The new kick-off times in the UEFA Europa League are as follows:

UEFA Europa League matches from the group stage until round of 16 matches will kick off at 18:55 (17:55) and 21:00CET (20:00).
The kick-off times will be decided in accordance with the draw. In principle, games within a group will be played simultaneously on the last matchday.
The quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will all kick off at 21:00CET. Exceptions can be made by the UEFA administration.


Both Arsenal and Chelsea were handed fairly straightforward groups and reached the knockout stages with two games to spare.

Although, there are still journeys to the Ukraine and Hungary respectively to contend with.

The London duo were given three 17:55 and 20:00 kick-offs on a Thursday evening, starting in September.

I tried increasing d volume but it will show d last mute level consistently as I tried. Also tried to drag it via d touch screen, it won't increase to make sound. When dis happens, just play any song with ur music player, pause the song, then put the phone on silent and remove it from silent again. Now play the song again, the song shud start playing out loud.
At least this has been working for me.

An American woman who was brought back to life is suing the New Mexico hospital for violating her rights.

The Albuquerque Journal reports lawyers for Jamie Sams filed a lawsuit this week in New Mexico state district court against Santa Fe's Christus St Vincent Regional Medical Center.

The lawsuit filed on behalf Ms Sams, a writer known for books on spirituality, says the hospital and a doctor who was treating her are to blame for her going into cardiac arrest. The lawsuit says Ms Sams was given a painkiller even after she told staff she was allergic to it.

Court documents say the negligence was compounded when hospital personnel resuscitated her - something she did not want.

Christus spokesman Arturo Delgado declined to comment.

Ms Sams is seeking an unspecified amount in damages.

More than a dozen people were killed and many more injured late Wednesday night after a gunman opened fire inside a bar in Thousand Oaks, California.

According to authorities, a man who has yet to be identified sprayed gunfire inside the Borderline Bar and Grill, where college students were holding country music night. More than 13 people—including the gunman—were killed.

Details of the "horrific" scene were described by witnesses who were inside the bar when the gunman opened fire.

A man and his stepfather interviewed by ABC7 Eyewitness News said they heard about 12 shots before they were able to exit through the front door of the nightclub.

“He fired the first shot,” the stepfather said. “And I knew it was real. My son thought it was a joke, so I pulled him down and got some cover. I looked up, and he was moving to the right. He shot the front doorman, who was just a young man. Then he shot the cashier, just a young girl.”

"It was sheer panic," said 19-year-old Teylor Whittler, who was at the venue when the gunman entered and began shooting. "Everyone ran and dropped as fast as they could."

According to California police, more than 100 people were inside the bar at the time of the mass shooting, which is one of nearly 300 that have taken place in the United States in 2018 alone.

THE Presidency today announced the postponement of tomorrow’s Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting.

A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Adesina in Abuja explained that the postponement was to allow some members of the cabinet involved in the ongoing party primaries to participate.

The two paragraph statement read,

“The Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting will not take place on Wednesday, October 3, 2018.

“This is informed by on-going political activities, particularly party primaries, in which some members of the Council are deeply involved in various states of the federation.”

After being denied usage of the Abuja Eagle Square, former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has announced a new venue for his formal presidential declaration.

Speaking to the media, Mr Kwankwaso’s spokesperson, Binta Sipikin, said the ceremony will now hold at Chida Hotel in Utako, Abuja.

We earlier reported how the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant was denied use of the Eagle Square a public open facility used for such gathering.

Authorities maintaining the facility had, after initially granting him access, denied him usage of the venue; a move believed to be to checkmate the former Kano governor.

In a letter signed by Usman Raji, the facility manager of the Abuja International Conference Centre & Eagles Square, the government said the decision to deny him the Eagle Square was to avoid disruption of “workflow” at the federal secretariat, the workplace of hundreds of federal civil servants.

Mr. Kwankwaso, who recently defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the PDP had announced Wednesday as the day for the event.

Tell her these and many more. That they are the issues which set our souls burning and fill our eyes with water. Tell her it isn’t enough to sit with a cup of creamed coffee, croissant and air-conditioning environ 13 hours flight away from her country and talk of trivial and frivolous issues.

Tell Ngo baby, that life consists of genuine service to humanity than mere lexical or verbal registrations to perpetuate popularity and bid in futility to reordain conventions that cannot be reordained.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday released the notice of activities for the 2019 general elections.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the notice was pasted at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) office of INEC in Abuja.

Ndidi Okafor, Head of Voter Education and Publicity Gender and Civil Society Liaison of INEC, FCT told NAN that the notice was in accordance with section 30 of the Electoral Act 2010.

According to the notice, collection of nomination forms for national and state elections by political parties is fixed between August 17 and August 24.

Collection of forms for FCT elections will take place between September 3 and September 10.

“The last date for submission of nomination forms by political parties has also been scheduled for December 3 for presidential and National Assembly Elections and state elections December 17.

“The collection of nomination forms for FCT Area Council elections would commence on November 3 to November 10, while the last date for the return of the nomination forms is December 14.

“On October 25 INEC will publish the personal particulars of national election candidates on October 25 and those of the state candidates on November 9.”

Ms Okafor said INEC has announced November 17 as the last date for the withdrawal or replacement of candidates for president and National Assembly elections, and December 1 for governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections.

INEC would on January 2, 2019 publish notice of the polls, and on January 7, 2019 publish official register of voters for the election, which will begin with the presidential and National Assembly elections on 16 February.
