Nigeria’s Super Eagles have lost three points in their 2018 World Cup qualifier. The loss came as FIFA gifted Algeria a 3-0 walk-over defeat of the Eagles, because Nigeria fielded an ineligible player in the match.

The fixture on Nov. 10 had ended 1-1, but FIFA on Tuesday added that the decision did not affect the final standings in African Qualifying Competition Group B.

It said the decision also did not affect Nigeria’s qualification for the FIFA World Cup in Russia, as they had finished six points clear of Zambia.

The player involved in the match played in Constantine was Shehu Abdullahi, and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is also receiving a fine of CHF 6,000.

The sanction relates to Abdullahi failing to serve the automatic one-match suspension imposed on him as a result of receiving a caution in two separate matches of the same competition.

FIFA, in a statement, also said East Timor had forfeited seven games in the World Cup qualifiers for fielding a total of nine players who were ineligible because of nationality.

This was based on a decision previously taken by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

LG has taken Apple's unflattering title of most expensive smartphone following the announcement of the Signature Edition.

The limited edition "super premium" phone will hit shelves in South Korea and only 300 units will be made. The phone will sell for 2 million South Korean won (£1,370), exceeding the most expensive iPhone X by more than £200.

The Signature Edition will be almost identical to the V30, LG's mainstream flagship smartphone. It comes with 6Gb of RAM, 256Gb of memory, a 6-inch OLED display and a 3300 mAh battery.

It also launches standard with Android 8.0 Oreo. It will be made from the same materials used in boutique watches (the main factor separating it from the V30).

In comparison, the LG V30 sells for £799 for the 64Gb model at Carphone Warehouse.

LG has long used the "Signature" branding to sell premium devices such as home appliances and TVs. The company's 4K Wallpaper OLED TVs are perhaps one of the most notable consumer tech products on the planet right now. Thinner than a pencil, the Wallpaper TV houses most of its components in a sound bar.

Not to be outdone, dedicated Apple fans can still raise the price of their iPhone X to around the same mark of the Signature Edition phone if they include the £199 AppleCare+. The extended warranty and insurance will cover owners from two incidents of accidental damage.

Anyone game enough to skip the coverage will face paying £286.44 to replace a broken screen or £556.44 for any other damage (which usually requires a full replacement).

Tens of millions of dollars worth of bitcoin have been stolen as the cryptocurrency continues to surge above record high.

Slovenia-based bitcoin miner NiceHash provides a service where numerous people can group together and "mine" for the cryptocurrency. That process uses intense computing power to create new bitcoin – and so provide substantial sums of money to its users.

But it says that its security has been breached and that it's possible more than $60 million in bitcoin has been stolen. As the price of bitcoin continues to rise, the value of the stolen wallet will increase even more.

NiceHash says it had stopped operations for 24 hours and was working to verify how many bitcoins were taken.

There was no immediate response from NiceHash to an emailed request for more details. Unconfirmed reports said more than 4,000 bitcoins were missing valued at more than $60 million.

"The incident has been reported to the relevant authorities and law enforcement and we are cooperating with them as a matter of urgency," it said.

The statement urged users to change their online passwords.

Troubles with the website over the past day or so drew alarm and complaints, with many bitcoin owners posting panicked comments on NiceHash's social media accounts.

The price of bitcoin has surged to over $14,100.74, gaining $1,000 in less than a day, according to coindesk, a website that monitors the price. That compares with a value below $1,000 at the beginning of the year.

Bitcoin is the world's most popular digital currency. Such currencies are not tied to a bank or government and allow users to spend money anonymously. They are basically lines of computer code that are digitally signed each time they are traded. Miners of bitcoins and other virtual currencies help keep the systems honest by putting computer power into a blockchain, a global running tally of every transaction that prevents cheaters from spending the same digital coin twice.

NiceHash is a cryptocurrency mining application that lends computer power to verify bitcoin users' transactions.

It is rather unfortunate that several months after the Senate requested Mr. President to transmit the Report to the National Assembly for legislative actions, nothing has happened. We only read a recent statement credited to the presidency to the effect that it has no confidence in the Confab Report. I do not believe, in good conscience, that a report produced by the cream of all spheres and units of the Nigerian society is worthless. Does the present government intend is to set in motion a process to convoke another conference, which outcome it can trust? That will be a waste of time and resources. But, whichever way we look at it, Nigerians must work out a blueprint for a workable, equitable, and prosperous nation. We cannot continue to play the ostrich while our world appears to sink. It is heartwarming that ADR now thrives in the country and practitioners are eager to lend their expertise and weight to the consensus building efforts," the Deputy Senate President said.
