I'm a chemical engrg graduate from UNIBEN.I'll advise you look for any UNIBEN chem engrg student and ask for PROCESS CALCULATION By Prof. T.O.K AUDU. It'll be very helpful for quick revision. It's not a handout but a textbook.

Goodluck

Thanks a lot

But what's de origin of these photos anyway? They really look dodgy and "photoshop-ish" to me.
Ribadu looks as if he's on prisoner's day out, if indeed its him.

But wait a minute. are we saying those two pictures are the ONLYpictures taken of a man like Ribadu, by all the organisations that reported his entrance into the country, ok oooo
Gaming / Re: Sony Changes Playstation 3 Ad After Nigerian Government Complains by calyx: 5:46pm On Sep 09, 2009
My friend, just don't jump into the middle of my comments. Get the drift of it and don't try to twist it or don't comment about it all. Yes, I'm listening to myself. Do you know what Korean ruler called Hilary Clinton and do you know why he said what he did about her? Hilary made a foul statement, not even as heavy as this, and she got a taste of the man's bitter slandering; that may not be a perfect example but it's related to this in a way that when you make negative remarks, you hear back from the person you make it again, no matter what. So suck up your opinion to yourself. If SONY is closed down I don't see it hurting Nigeria at all and no, they closing it will be bad for their business. The only company you'll close down that will hurt Nigeria real bad is MTN, SONY, hell no! Rephrase that.

If SONY thought what they did was so right or they can't be reprimanded, why did they change it? You don't stay in that dark and start whistling those non-existent ideas. The truth is Nigerians are scammers? Is that what you're telling me? Are you a scammer too? Pray tell, what portion of Nigeria is involved in fraud, maybe 20% (if it's up to that at all) and this portion automatically speaks in full for the rest? Think again! A very little fraction of Nigerians are involved in this and it's an insult if it's labeled on the country like it's her trademark. I don't condone what they are doing but in spite of that you don't open your mouth and make foul remarks at a country.

Very well said!

Politics / Re: The Mind Of Sanusi On Nigeria by calyx: 7:02pm On Sep 08, 2009
I'm also a bit worried that his past dialogues, other than those on Debt relief, have centred on politics, religion, ethicity, history etc rather than on Economics.

Exactly! Infact I am so shocked! Now the whole puzzle is beginning to make some sense. . .Wow so thats it then. . .

and the overt acknowledgement by analysts and commentators that he’s arguably Nigeria’s economy’s best brain in Credit risk management

Source please thanks

[I am sure those concerned can find out from their friends and relations who are bankers about Sanusi's reputation in the industry and come to a conclusion after speaking with a varied sample.

Are you suggesting by any means that whatever the product of this 'investigation' is enough to qualify a man in such office as 'fit' if there are actions or absence of them that may suggest otherwise?

how many people discuss econmics in Nigeria? our issues even as shown on Naira land are always on politics, religion, ethnicity and history so what's the big deal if Sanusi comments on that. How many of the bank chiefs even discusses anything apart form deposit targets. At least Sanusi discusses other things and is bold about it. What has Jim Ovia, Akingbola, Ibru, Elumelu etc contributed to and discourse in Nigeria?

For a pro-sanusi argument especially in relation to a/ or perceived required versatility of a CBN governor with regards his office, i go to sleep  sad

Health / Re: Gums Bleeding While Brushing by calyx: 6:58pm On Sep 07, 2009
Its gum disease, make sure to floss your teeth daily to get rid of the food that can build up between your teeth. Brush your teeth after every meal and also use a mouth wash for bleeding gums. Cordsoyl is the name of one which is good for stopping your gums bleed.

Yea its a gum disease. I had this issue for a while until i became worried that i could have a mouth odour if not properly checked. I went to Luth dental clinic and they performed a minor surgery on my gums and prescribed some drugs. Well of course it worked and am fine today

In that case, i'd look at separation processes like Distillation, G-L separation, L-L, also mass transfer, kinetics, process control all these can be found via
1) google
2) eng-tips.com
3)www.cheresources.com

Thanks debest. Am not surprised anyway. . .owing to the name you gave yourself. The issue still is that i have tried all these options and still kind of need a practical guide. . .like a prepared booklet that has different exam questions and their answers etc. Thanks again all the same.

Am not sure its broken down into subject bits. The exam is supposedly a make up of everything a process/ chemical engineer should have studied in bachelors level. This is to test your competence to do a masters degree in the field.

Girls, what happened to being real, why do u pretend and tell all those lies to get attention, why do u show your true colors after things have eased up a bit. Why have u lost all the respect, what happened to those days? Why are u so damned rude? Why do u speak before u reason? What happened to education? Why can u not perform your normal chores anymore, why do u feel too big to clean or cook? Why can u not take care of a home? why must u nag?

What happened to self respect?!

Never make such generalisations. Guys still spend. If i dont know anyone, at least i know myself. In my recent relationship i spent so much to make her feel happy. at the end, i still did not get the attention i wanted/deserved. will that make me not to spend in another relationship? maybe yes for some guys due to the experience. but for me, it doesnt change a thing. as a matter of fact, i enjoy spending on my girl cos it makes me feel responsible and happy to see she is happy too.

Business / Re: CBN Ready To Sell Five Bailed Banks 100% To Foreign Investors by calyx: 4:50pm On Aug 30, 2009
Na u go buy the banks? or you want the same corrupt politicians to take over the banks to better help them in concealing their embezzlement?
If there are foreign banks or investors, who are willing to invest their money in our banks, then I think it should be welcomed. Unlike the MTNs who have been using local sourced funds and siphoning the gains to SA.
The current laws allow any entity (including the likes of bin Laden) to own an entire bank by proxy. I dont see how BoA or HSBC owning a bank is any worse.

Just a question. What is the relationship between Nigerians and the foreign banks existing in the country today? Just who does these foreigners think the average Nigerian is?

and you can see clearly the president didnt look very happy he has stepped into the country from the one week turned 10 days journey to saudi arabia. He even looked as though he was goin to smack his wife who was obviously elated(even waving at the crowd) and probably has forced the poor guy back home so people who start asking questions.

I am sure there is more to this than we have just experienced

Would it have been better to sack people who worked all their life to set up businesses or to have agreed to proposed mergers which some of the affected banks have already put on the table, which would still get them out of their position anyway but at least secure their initial interest in the companies concerned?

Now lets see whither direction the banks' lot is cast
Politics / Re: Problems With Consolidated Banks: Was Soludo A Failure? by calyx: 12:13pm On Aug 17, 2009
Does That Mean Soludo Was A Failure?

If it took the new Helms man at the CBN only 2 months to uncover the gross deceit in our banks, the efficacy and functionality of Soludo has not only be compromised it has been greatly undermined. His ingenuity which has been at the foreshore of the acclaimed excellence in our financial institution was built on stilt and sand and the reality was a crash that was not only inevitable but a certainty that would have consumed the whole nation in despire and bring down the government.  I think the CBN’s pre-emptive move getting rid of those greedy, bent Bank executives should be seen as exemplary and a first in sub Sahara Africa of the Government carrying out her duty of care to her citizenry. The Government and the board of Directors of the CBN must be commended for this historical feat.

I think one of the main problem Soludo had was he (Souldo ) was not a banker he was an Economics Lecturer from UNN Nsukka. The post of the Governor of CBN of Nigeria was not only an overwhelming proposition for Soludo, considering the calibre of people in banking it was a case of hypnotic admiration of the Bank executives like Jim Ovia, Eratus Akingbola, Madame Ibru e.t.c   These are individuals of obscene wealth and power in their organisations and will intimidate even the most discerning person. Soludo was like a kid in candy shop, he was hoodwinked by these individuals they called the shot throughout his tenure.

Sanusi on the other hand , knew these guys where just putting up appearance and cooking the books, he was a seasoned banker with a strong emphasis on risk management, he knew all the tricks in the book. He also knew the money been splashed around by these bank executives were not profits the bank made but the share-holders equity. Obliviously the chicken came home to roost on Friday when it was revealed the extent of exposure that some of the banks have let themselves into. He even used the dreaded word Insolvency when describing the dire state of one of the supposed high flying banks.

When Chief executives of firms, company’s or Government departments are change you will expect minor window dressings, but when you have a major shift in policy, a clampdown, or announcement it simply means only one thing the past Chief executive has either failed in its totality or does not have a clue what he is doing I believe it is both the former and the latter.

One good thing positive or should I say negative that came out of all these saga is that the only people who are star-struck and hood-winked are the Nigeria masses at the tremendous wealth soludo has acquired for himself  within the last 8 years not bad for a former lecturer from UNN.

Yesterday, I listened to one of my friends for 20 minutes analyse banking and policies. He did so well that a mere observer would think he was guru in financial analysis. It was very disgusting because had no points and at best turned the points upside down. Just now every idiot in Nigeria calls people names in the guise of financial/ policy analysis. I thought replying to this post was a waste of time. Maybe I still think so angry
Politics / Re: African Petroleum Is Bankrupt Says Access Bank by calyx: 6:37pm On Jul 21, 2009
There is the base rate of the transaction which is locked as of the date of this transaction. Bank charges and interests are a separate affair from this. The exchange rate at the date and time of the transaction is locked. Anything else will be based on this locked rate.

If your suggestion here is correct, then why is it not in black & white. Access bank would probably have gone to court based on an endorsed offer/agreement. if they agreed to terms then they should pay or at least try to reach a reasonable compromise
Politics / Re: African Petroleum Is Bankrupt Says Access Bank by calyx: 5:56pm On Jul 21, 2009
He explained that pursuant to financing of the vessel, AP opened a form M with at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and letter of credit was opened at the rate of N116 to a United States dollar.

He added that trouble started when Access Bank on December 2, 2008 sent a debit advice, saying the money should be paid using an exchange rate of N127 to a dollar.

So AP wants to pay back at the 116/$ rate they borrowed the money abi. What was the naira/$ rate at the time they want to repay. Consider the cost of the foreign transaction and all. Is the bank a charity organisation Abeg make una go pay wetin una owe jare
