qleyo:

(sorry can't remember his name)

His name is Leo Stan Ekeh from Imo state.

@seun

There is no hype about zinox. zinox is a full fledged producer of servers, ups, notebooks, to name but a few. You guys should try and appreciate Nigerian brains for once. Even if they only assemble/package their systems, so what.

Career / Re: Recruiters And 2.2 by canachy(m): 10:01am On Apr 03, 2007
1st class, 2.1, 2.2 and even 3rd class are not important when it comes to the labour force. You should all understand that what we practice in our Nigerian universities is "cram pass and forget" learning technique; so why the noise about GPA.

What I think should matter is that the prospective employee is a graduate, smart, productive and dynamic, PERIOD.

I also put it to you that 2.2 graduates are the best guys you can have in the labour force though this is subject to contension but I know what I am saying.
Business / Criteria For Setting Up An Institute (need Your Help) by canachy(m): 4:08pm On Apr 02, 2007
Hello,

I would like to set up an institute where practical things will be taught to prospective students but don't have any idea how to go about it.

Please if any one can help me with details on:

how and where to register the institute,
the necessary body and authority to contact,
how and where to obtain license if any and other legal proceedings.

Any other information that will be useful in setting up an institute will be appreciated

Thanks for your anticipated replies

Career / Re: 10,000.00 As Pay For A Corper.is It Ok? by canachy(m): 11:25am On Mar 08, 2007
@chioms

I don't think your concern should be looking for a better pay. It is better to earn low now and earn a fortune in the nearest future than earn well now and low tommorrow. So, If you are looking for another place, concetrate on building your capacity, skills and experience and not money(pay). Keep forging ahead, cos the future is bright

SMF and PHPBB are great but If you try Vbulletin, I bet you will forget all about the others. Vbulletin is superb: why not check it out at http://www.vbulletin.com.

You can request for a free demo, if you like what you see, then go for it.

Career / Re: I Rejected A 15K Job With Alpha Technologies by canachy(m): 5:11pm On Mar 07, 2007
I don't see why this issue should be over empasized. 15k is quite too poor for a graduate, but even 300k will still not be enough. The truth of the matter is that you should not work for money, rather, let money work for you.

If you feel that the pay offer you have is too poor and you are still unemployed, then create your own job, employ people and even pay them real big bucks. what do you thnk?

keep Cracking
Career / Re: Should I Accept This 25K Job? by canachy(m): 4:44pm On Mar 07, 2007
Money is like a butterfly: the more you case it, the more it flies away from you; but just let it be and it comes back to you.

You mentioned that you are a fresh graduate. You know what, the best thing for you at this time is work to learn; don't work for money. You will be amazed at the outcome cos it surely will bring money back to you and you would then have money work for you. Sounds so simple. right? it's quite a dificult task to take but what needs to be done, needs to be done.

Alternatively, if you feel you have great skills and can make it as an enterpreneur, then turn down any job offer no matter the pay. I think that is the best option, but only the tough can survive the ups and downs. Where is the capital to start with? you may ask: I tell you what, that cannot stop you.

Ever which way, build your capacity for the challenges ahead either by working for somebody or for yourself.

Career / Re: Self-employment Tips by canachy(m): 10:40am On Feb 16, 2007
Good one Seun,

Self employement is the best thing that can happen to anyone.  You have to be sure of what you want to do. That somebody does a business successfully does not guarantee you success in the same business. It is of paramount importance that you first build your capacity as a person (ie self preparation), even if it means getting necessary training. This is important because you cannot give what you don't have.

You need capital though, but that can not stop you. Just start from anywhere and I tell you if you are good, people will pay you real big bucks just to have the value for thier money.

The best time to start is now. Get trained, draw your master plan and kick off. If you play your cards well, you must succeed

Career / Re: Who Is Your Role Model? by canachy(m): 9:19am On Feb 16, 2007
It is not a disgrace not to reach the stars but it is, when you don't have any star to reach. On this note, everyone who wishes to be successful, should (not must) have a role model per say.

My role model is the microsoft's bill gate. Any time I read about that guy, I get more motivated and I tell you what, I work everyday to get to his height, what do you think?
