Travel › Re: Travel Diary by Canada2021: 2:44pm On May 12, 2020 |
annex1: This is a diary. Its not yet accomplished so follow me on my journey.
It's been a long time coming I decided to want to leave this country. Far back as I can remember completing secondary school, especially as some friends of mine left. Dad always assuring me of schooling abroad provided I passed WAEC accordingly - this was my motivation and the objective was to ace WAEC. This became a joke when they made me sit for JAMB the following year although I aced them both (WAEC and Jamb) initially - I mean, you promised me abroad, why make me sit for jamb again?
Anyways, a little about me. Last born, only guy. Not overly intelligent in fact not intelligent at all but I do and get done what needs to be done. Not long after the second Jamb, got admission to a private university - did a four year course and so on and so forth. Oh Dad retired sometime during my 1st year but I give it to him, we never lacked anything - from care to material things, I mean we were not all that rich neither did we have it all smooth as a family but we were ok - we knew how to hold our own.
After the university and service. I still had an eye for continued studies abroad but funding was my problem. Looking for scholarships at the same time for a job was priority. Got a job in a IT security company - limited liabillty- quite small. Remuneration was also little. I barely saved. Worked there for 6 months and resigned. I mean I had learnt everything I needed to know in that time, got a few of my bosses clients as close friends then I got off, my employer knew little about personnel management and was always bitter about everything. However I still am grateful for the soft skill he gave me.
Started working by myself for a little over 4 months before I got another job in an FMCG. Pay was greater than the former but was still 5 digits.I was able to save a large chunk of it. After all I wasnt paying for accommodation as we had a house in Lagos. All this while still planning on how I'll go abroad for continued studies. But I knew the little I'll save from this would go no where in even buying a ticket talkless of tuition. I kept on applying for jobs and decided to run a masters program in one of the southwestern federal universities.
Might I also add that I was never in any serious relationship. The only one i could consider serious ended around when I was at the IT security company. And i really liked her, but she was much older (not that it mattered) not that age has ever mattered to me. i was 23, young and stupid. I mean this lady was divine .One of those kinds that deserve the whole world. Even long after we broke up, I'll drive to her office on her birthdays to drop gifts anonymously. But that's story for another day (sorry for digressing).
All this while i knew i could not end up in this country - marry, have children and continue the cycle once again. I did my second degree full time and used up a great of my savings - still had support from my parents and sisters. This time I am a couple years past my mid 20s. Still determined to leave the country. I got offers to leave illegitimately and start hiding as they say it. However I declined.
Anyways, finished my program sometime around 2018. Got back home (family house) regrettably because i was too broke to get my own apartment. Kept wondering where I'll start from, no job, very little savings. It didnt take long before I moved out of the house because going back to live with your parents at this age is an extreme sport. I was determined and with little pressure I must add - no girlfriends, no responsibility.
I decided to put an application for the Australian skilled immigration. Spent over 170k for the prerequisites and got into the pool. Unfortunately, IT occupations are highly competitive so I ended up scampering about how to get more points - I already had maximum points for English and education. I was desperate. I even attempted meeting ladies who wanted to travel to see if we could "pair up" the responses and reactions? - that's story for another day sha.
Alright, sometime last year, I got a job in an IOC. Well the pay is good so you can imagine how rabidly I save. In fact i dont buy things i dont need. I dont buy things I cant carry the day I am boarding. Sometime last year I decided to try canada FSW even while my application is in Aus. So this diary is to follow up this process - Canada. which of the organizations did you use for your ECA |

The best decision is to accept the offer and build your profile unless your parents have a job for you. I hope that picture was just attached to the certificate by the owner because Uniben does not attached pictures to certificates. They now attach pasaport |

Hello People, With this Covid 19, nobody knows how the next draws will look like. I am interested in writing the TEF exams. I have just one year experience and i am a lawyer. I want to use this french exam to boost my score.
I need the assistance of someone to personally explain the following grey areas; 1) the cost of registration 2) the relevant materials to read 3) the time frame needed to prepare for the exam especially for someone without a french background.
NOTE: I have read through the other thread on TEF but it is not clear. I need a personal explanation.
Thanks and May God protect us all during this perilous time |

oshorstan: It is sad to lose a love one. One that you think about and wishes u well. God bless the soul and spirit of my Aunty , Mrs Kate Okpujie. She died in a mysterious way. I call her my second Mummy. Anytime I think about her, I always burst into tears. She died at the First week of April 2020. The tin pain me reach bone. I feel stabbed in the heart. Those that killed her will die in 2 years time. I prophesy with the bitterness of my heart. she was my teacher in secondary school, she was a nice person |

Politics › Re: My Humble Giveaway by Canada2021: 8:17am On Apr 14, 2020 |
snowland: Having watched and listen to the president's broadcast on the need for an extension of the lockdown, I could not but imagine what people will pass through within this additional 14 days of suffering. In the light of this, I want to help a few people with a total sum of 100k.
How I plan to do this, I have no clear cut idea, hence I'm gonna need suggestions on the possible way to achieve this so that only those that genuinely need the money actually get it. I have these modalities but I want suggestions on the best one to choose:
1. 25k each to 4 most needy people 2. 20k each to 5 needy people 3. 10k each to 10 needy people 4. 5k each to 20 people 5. 4k each to 25 people 6. 3k each to 33 people 7. 2.5k each to 40 people 8. 2k each to 50 people 9. 1k each to 100 people.
I will need suggestions as soon as possible. And anybody that can help bring this to the attention of any of the mods, please do. Thanks.
Yours truly, Snowland.
UPDATE: Please do not drop your account details until it has been decided which modality would be adopted. Then, call will be made for account details to be provided. Thanks..
Someone suggested 2.5k to 40 people and another suggested 3k to 33 people, so original post is updated to reflect the suggestions.
LATEST UPDATE: So having gone through all the comments and suggestions, I have decided to go with option 6 but with a little twist. Instead of 33 people, I'll be giving 3k each to 40 people. That way, a few more people will be reached. I'm still thinking of how to go about with the selection: Randomly? First come First Serve basis? I need ideas please.
Also, I'm going to need someone that'll help with the disbursement once the selection process has been decided and concluded. Two reasons for this: 1. I'm very busy and may not have the time to send the money to every selected people before weekend. I want this concluded asap. 2. I want to be anonymous.
Therefore, I'm going to need someone reliable with a proven record of honesty on this forum that can handle the disbursement. Please Op I really need this money even if It is the 1k. I am suffering from acute ulcer as a result of my inability to eat as at when due. God will bless you and replenish your pocket. UBA 2114028363 |
