The work of investigating and detecting financial crimes is carried out in the UK by the IRS and not the police (only prosecution of crimes). In Nigeria the FIRS was dead and buried for 1million years because of Oil&Gas revenues! Moneys were moved oversees and laundered with ease because the tax system was dead and buried.
