Its scary that in something as serious as Medical School Exams, Professors of Medicine allow their children and their friends to cheat.

I was a Medical Student at UI Med School many years ago and 20% of my class cheated to pass exams in a situation where people who are repeating decide to do division of labour and instead of studying every thing they decide to study just upper limb and someone else studies lower limb, thorax etc, etc and then they sit at the back of the class and compare notes and end up scoring 100%.

This is apart from the children of Professors of Medicine who were being given preferential treatment in the exam hall (e.g. coming too late for an exam and instead of disqualifying her, the invigilator (a lecturer who was taught in med school by the girls father who is a Prof of medicine) kept repeating to our hearing "where is the she that must be obeyed" until the Profs daughter showed up more than an hour late for the exam.

And then there is the case of the son of a Prof of medicine in my class who used to see the real exam questions before the exam date and then circulate them to his inner circle and they all end up scoring 100% in the exam.

No wonder there are so many heartless killer doctors in Nigeria.

I eventually had enough and when I decided to pull out of Med school after 4 years, my mum took me to a well known Bishop who laid hands on me and when he saw that I did not change my mind, he promptly asked me if I was on drugs and I answered in the negative.

In all, what then is the essence of making all the efforts to achieve your dream, when right in your presence, your self motivation is destroyed by the very people that you trust to lead you in that journey?

I am a professor of medicine and my 5 children are medical doctors? From your words, we can deduce that potentially the whole 5 children succeeded by cheating.

I continue to wonder why medical students cheat at exams. Many years ago, there was a young medical graduate who was asked to prescribe drugs for malaria by my uncle’s wife who was feverish. We were all proud of this young lady, until we found that she did not know what drugs to prescribe. We thought she was joking, by found that she did not have the idea.

Unfortunately the best medical students and doctors do not get into positions.

It is so sad.

Everything in this country is upsidedown. Don't you know that in our institutions of higher learning we have two (2) categories of scholars. These are:-
(1) Academic scholars and
(2) Financial scholars aka blocking gurus.
The dead young medical student was an agent who does blocking. So sad that both students will never realize their dream of becoming doctors. Medical students love blocking MBBS exams

Sadly, everyone of them involved in it will never realize their dreams. Did they truly aspire to become medical doctors in the future? What is the essence of using money to “settle” and then not being able to defend your degree upon qualification as medical doctors? No wonder we have horrible doctors who know absolutely nothing about their medical practices and attending to sick people.

Anyway, who is to blame? A lot of them have rich and influential parents, who either help them secure jobs upon graduation, or open their private practices.

Once again note that even airlines do not pay for their aircrafts in cash. There are payment plans. If he pays his upfront on agreement, the aircraft becomes his. The cars they purchase in most instances are not outrightly paid for.

If the young man can afford the luxuries of life, that his business; that’s his money. How he pays is his business.

He cut the long story short. He was very honest to himself, the judge and the court. He did not waste the time of the court. He did not steal, neither did he commit fraud. He was not convicted of any crime of such gravity. Also he would have been screened by the EFCC for other possible crimes and none was found on him. Definitely it should serve as a lesson to those who mutilate the naira, or use it as their toy.

Hopefully he has learnt his lessons. Hopefully he will not be stigmatized in the basis of that by people who carry out the same act. Hopefully also he will try to become less controversial and less negatively influential to his fans, with his choice of sex and mode of dressing.

Importantly would be the speedy trial and conviction of some of our leaders, who have such horrible crimes of looting the patrimony mercilessly. Hopefully EFCC can prosecute their cases with such great speed and ensure their conviction. We need a very sane Nigeria.

I honestly don't believe that 'crashing price' instead of promo discounts will substitute for excellent service and the pride a Nigerian experiences when flying in a Nigerian airline brand. That trumps lower price that people can ditch if service is awful.

And you forgot the fact of reaping off the customers by the airlines, just like other businesses?

Do you not know that air fares are far cheaper in other West African countries than Nigeria, flying the same routes? Go to Benin Republic and see for yourself. Do you not know that it is far cheaper purchasing tickets for your trips from other countries?

Nigeria is the place where airlines make their most monies. When their funds are stuck, they blame government, we blame government, with no idea what the real issues are.

Now that Air Peace has reduced the rates, flying the same route, who says it is not profitable for them? Now also that Air France has reduced their rates, who says they were not making excesses profits at the detriment of Nigerian travelers? Pricing should be fair and very reasonable for citizens of the country.

Wrong. They're not trying to prove the existence of God with the search for the " invisible matter"/ dark matter. It's just a search to better understand the universe and why it behaves the way it does, the universe is made up of 20% visible matter and 80% invisible matter.
