Let's put aside the tribal sentiments (Which is mission impossible in NL )She already announced a retirement date of November 2010; what's the rush to fire her after 27 years (I believe she joined NSE in 1983?) ![]() |
What??!! Lagbaja's identity is still a mystery, even after more than a decade in the limelight? Very impressive! But then, this shows that Private Investigators and Paparazzis are needed in Nigeria ![]() |
Omolulu:True! But education (both formal and informal) is the only tool known to man to develop character and willpower. However, Nigerians and Nigerian education generally defies this rule of thumb! ![]() |
He said it was time to pay back what he had gained from NigeriaSanusi Lamido, please send IBB the current account number for Nigeria's foreign reserves so he can PAY BACK what he NOTE: Make sure the account allows DEPOSITS only. . .not withdrawals, otherwise, with IBB, the end will be worse than the beginning! |

Good blog, Black Backpacker! You are one good storyteller! I spent the first twenty years of my life within a 20 KM radius!!!! Finally dared to travel to Abeokuta and realized it was only a 45-minute journey from Lagos! From then on, there was no stopping me. ![]() |
^ ^ ^ Yeye questions! Nor make me vex o!!! ![]() Technical competence, ability to read the game and a mild temperament serves a coach better - Rather than throwing tantrums on the sidelines and fighting fans. Sharp guy like you suppose know na! (I know you're a die-hard fan of Maradona - No wahala!) |
The koro-koro cheat and liar himself accusing someone else of the same. I think he's showing withdrawal symptoms from the white powder. Arrogance and bravado do not win football matches. I won't be surprised if Nigeria hires Maradona ![]() |
Bowlue: seunallday: Bowlue:Truth is, you are not yet seen as a professional, but as a glorified messenger for the first year - You are a 'ball boy' for the pros on the pitch. That's why you can't seat an exam yet! After they use you like 'rain water' in the first year, then you can start writing professional exams, and must pass within a specified period, otherwise you're shown the door. All the big boys/gals you see in audit firms went through that rite-of-passage. Best of luck! Report back when the 1st shin-shin gets credited to your account ![]() |
@ timbercharles Congratulations on your admission! Please follow Hotstepper's steamy hot advice, and you will not fall into hot water. ![]() OP, why not open a thread to share your experience with fellow NL'ders who may wish to tow your line. |
@megastu With your proximity and access to a foreign embassy declared on this thread, I won't be surprised if you will be bombarded with offers of N250K per visa! O'lboy, no chop oh!!! ![]() |
That is an average Nigerian for you! In our bid to outsmart the system (which we loooooove to do), we usually get outsmarted! Shame. megastu:I know exactly the scenario you just described; I have seen a couple of foreign embassies with such arrangements in Lagos. |
sunnyprof:Hmmm. . .Definitely a significant root of the problem. |
But isn't this the problem with Nigerian education, generally speaking? * Computer Science Professor who cannot operate a PC * Chemical Engineering grads driving cabs under Gov Akala's employment program * Sociology and Core Science grads chasing deposits in banks * Finance/Banking grads basking in the Telco boom * Several grads engaged as kidnappers, robbers, ashawos, etc ![]() |
Education does not even mean a Masters or PhD degree. The leaders have certificates, but they do not apply what they’ve learnt. The purpose of education is application, abi? A (person) educated only at school is an uneducated (person). ~George Santayana |
Politicians Are Undereducated, Says Utomi By Funmi Ogundare, 07.28.2010 Lagos A former presidential aspirant and the Director of Pan African University, Ajah, Lagos, Prof. Pat Utomi has said Nigeria would not achieve any progress, but will continue to witness the present anomaly if its crop of politicians are not properly educated. Utomi, who made this remark, at the 12th Valedictory Service/Prize Giving Day of Good Shephard Schools, Meiran, Lagos, described Nigerian politicians as under-informed, selfish and obsessed with money, adding that they are more interested in the contract that will be awarded rather than focusing on what they ought to do that would benefit the populace. His words: "Politicians are so interested in the contract that will be awarded that they don't focus on the real person. Until this selfishness, obsession of money, this failure of our elite in the political class to disclose the mission of their generation, is corrected. "I am afraid Nigerians are in serious trouble. I think this is why we need to educate the Nigerian politicians because they are highly undereducated and under informed as to what their missions should be, many do not realise what education is for, that is why we are not making progress." @aieromon Thank you! @massach79 Why should anyone be arrested for selling alcohol? |
@ OP This story is disheartening! massach79:What is "sepe"? ![]() |
Remii:I tire, my broda! The militants at the interview, the journalist conducting the interview, the governor(s) at the interview, and most of the people watching the interview are all the same! Cut from the same cloth! |
ebunma:Intensive Care Unit straight! vinmol:LIE! Good people = Good leaders Bad people = Bad leaders When the people change for good, they will produce good leaders. Fellow Nigerians, the monster is looking back at you in the mirror! |
This thread deserves to be moved from Career to Jokes section. Shikena! |
pendusky:Korrect talk! spikedcylinder:Please get the stereotypical 'charge and bail' lawyer off your mind - E.g. Mr. Gbenga Oyebode and his team of lawyers made millions of $$$ from a 5-room commercial law firm at Obalende (15 yrs ago) and he bought into Access Bank where he's presently Chairman. @ OP This thread exposes the root of Nigeria's problems - We have lost our bearing. ![]() Like a public service radio announcement that filled the air and our minds when I grew up in Nigeria, "There Is Dignity In Labour!" |
Kobojunkie:In fact, what constitution?? ![]() |
Considering its exploding population growth, Lagos should be building its 14th Mainland bridge by now! ![]() |
@ Poster Avoid eating sugary food from 6:00 p.m. and you will get your noctural mental health back. You don nearly kolo finish, walahi! ![]() |

I'm trying to set together some kind of group to bastardize Goodluck's facebook, so that he can understand our urgent desire to join Benin Republic. But in order to make this move, I'll need you to tell me more about your cause. Please: No maps.
@ Ileke-Idi You messed up a perfectly legit, and potentially inspiring proposition with the highlighted portion above ![]() Becomerich and satellite maps are like: Spongebob and Squarepants IBB and Gap teeth Abacha and Sunglasses Barack and Michelle Thus, Becomerich did not take the bait - You can't have one without the other. . .Mend your ways and be converted! ![]() |
^^A man wouldn't regard that as being soft-hearted simply because it's his responsibility to do that just like it's regarded as soft-hearted when a man washes the dishes. Sometimes, doing things out of the ordinary makes one unique. I think most women understand that.
True talk! |
Don't ever think that such a woman does not exist cause she does. They are more soft hearted and selfless women out there than men.
I would never say "never". . .My point is that such a woman falls outside the statistical norm. Funny thing is that a man does not regard providing for his family as being soft-hearted - It's just what we (the responsible ones) do! ![]() |
